  1. So, we are hoping for a September Interview and an early October arrival.

for everyones info, it took exactly 8 days from NVC sending it to the embassy and my fiancee getting packet 3, i think thats pretty good for our government

Wow! That's great news. Laura and I were figuring, based on the average timelines given in the K1 flow that it would be in to the holidays before she even got her interview. Maybe things will go faster than we thought. :)
  2. I wondered the same about the calls. And also wondered if all the calls will end up having them close the other lines as well.

What I did was periodically do a timeline search with criteria matching my case. Same SC, same month (sometimes a month before to get a better average), stuff like that. When we got approval we were in the middle between the shortest and longest approval times, so I felt no need to call.

  3. Please, when quoting someone else's post, edit the quote to what's relevant to your reply.

Some of the threads here are huge PITA to read because of all the extensive quoting.

Some threads that are 80 pages would probably only be 40 pages if folks would go easy on the quoting.

It is ok to edit quotes as long as you don't change the meaning. People won't be offended.

  4. I just called using the RFE Trick, and talked to a man there, that said there was nothing going on with my case right now... so i asked if it had even be assigned yet, and he looked for a minute, and said, "no mam, it hasn't been assigned yet"... :(:( i almost cried right then...
I know the feeling, but don't get too down, you're still about in the median timeline for approval for april filing from the timeline searches I've done.
  5. Approved!!!!!

when i read the approval i had a huge grin on my face but tears in my eyes....

I'm sitting here the exact same way.

I was so nervous, for three reasons.

    1. Our age difference

    2. I was born in Newfoundland, at US Naval Station, Argentia, but all I had was my US passport.

    3. There's another mad cow disease outbreak in the UK.

    I can't believe how relieved I am!!!!

    Yes I can. LOL

Congratulations to the others who were approved. I'm hoping for those who are still waiting.

  6. Well, I just ran some timeline searches and no one who's filed with the TSC and recieved their NOA1 within a day or two of ours has receive their NOA2, so that makes me less worried. The averafe for TSC filers is 110 days from NOA1 to NOA2.

So if I haven't heard anything by the end of the week I'll be ringing them.

On a down side, Laura just told me Mad Cow Disease is out again in the UK. Apparently this time released from a government lab. I hope this doesn't impact them approving her visa.

  7. Well, we got some great news today, I checked the USCIS site and it said we were approved and our Notice was sent out yesterday, July 26. Of course we are very very excited, Just wanted to come by, update our time line and post here to reassure others to hang in there. We shared the same date as many of you. So you all should be next.
    Woohoo!!!

Congrats! Maybe ours will come in 11 days then :D

  8. I have heard that it does in some cases. Looking at your time line, Rover, you should have had your NOA-2 by now.
Actually, comparing my dates with others with similar time;ines, TSC/CSC, Counulate- London, I'm sorta in the middle for receiving NOA2. And times from NOA1 to NOA2 have been going up in the last couple months, according to the trending charts. Therefore my estimated adjudication date has moved to the 28th.

From comments in other threads it seems many people got touches using the RFE trick. Just wondering, I don't want a touch unless it's from something they really did. Not just a phone call. Unless a phone call does some good.

I'll give it a few more days before I ring them.

  9. I've seen a number of people use the "RFE Trick" to get a touch to their case status. What I'm wondering does it really accomplish anything of use if you're not past your estimated adjudication date. I certainly understand people being anxious, I sure am. But does it really do any good? Or does it just interrupt people from actually working on petitions?

  10. The timelines are only as good as the members.

It takes very few members starting a timeline and then forgetting to fill in information and dates to slow down everyone's "estimates."

Yeah. Last week ours was saying the 23rd. On sat it jumped to Aug 5, now it's back to the Jul 25 for the last 2 days.

But looking at "similar timelines" (same country, same service center) they are averaging 90 or so days from NOA1 to approval. So I'm hoping our estimated date is close. Though the trending charts show the times getting progressively longer in the past month.

  11. Sell the car back to the dealer, I suspect that what it is worth should be enough to pay off the loan.
It's very unlikely the value of a car bought on a 5 year finance was ever worth what the balance of the loan is. Also, with some car loans you pay all the interest up front, so that towards the end of the load you owe very nearly the full purchace price.
  12. You guys are all going to hate this, but I swear we've just been super lucky so far...

We received a letter today that stated that the NVC received our petition and is forwarding our stuff to the Vancouver Consulate. :D

    *dances around with glee*

I'm just hoping that everyone's apps go through as fast as ours have!

Congratulations! You VSC filers make me envoius. Makes me wish I still lived in VT, or one of the states that uses it.

Our estimated time is still end of July.

  13. In my opinion CSC and VSC both process I-129F petitions consistently .. CSC 90 to 100 days (consistently) and VSC less than a month (consistently) .. CSC just needs to play catch up, and then maybe they can consistently process petitions faster ..

    CB

These processing times make sense of course. CSC processes the work from 3 service centers, while VSC processes the work from 1 service center. Thus, I'm not surprised at all to see CSC take roughly 3 times as long as VSC. They should never have split up processing of these geographically....that's just a recipe for imbalance.

Yeah, it does seem really weird to me that I'm in GA and my application is in CA. First come first served to a single processing center seems like the most fair method. But as others have said, it's governemt..

    Wow! This is shocking!

"Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as July 24, 2007."

On April 13th the estimated date was July 25th. It actually went down a day.
