  1. Life happens and I haven't been back in a good while.

Just wanted to let everyone know that this Dec Laura and I will be celebrating our 5th anniversary. Woohoo!

We've had our troubles, like most couples, but we're very happy together and things are going well.

I've done it before, but again, thanks to all who made the process of her getting here (relatively) painless.

  2. With no interview needed!

We filed on 4-15-2010 and Laura had her biometrics done June 2nd. That was a bit of a mess because the USCIS computer scheduled close to 100 people for the same time slot, so it was about a 2 hour wait, compared to the first time which was about 20 min.

She received her I-797C NOA today (dated 7-7-2010, "Congratulations! Your request for the removal of the conditional basis of your permanent resident status has been approved.

Today's my birthday, couldn't have gotten a better present!

  3. Laura is leaving to visit the UK for a few weeks. Of course she's taking her passport that has the various things attached, visa, I-94 etc., her AP form, and a copy of our marriage certificate (she kept her last name, so figure there's no harm in being prepared).

Our question is, do they take anything when she leaves or enters? They've done things wrong before at the POE so want to know what to expect.

    Regards...

  4. I don't have Laura's SS card handy to look at, but don't remember seeing that on her card.

    1. Aliens Work Authorized Without Specific DHS Authorization

The following sections list nonimmigrants, by alien class of admission codes, who are authorized to work in the U.S. without specific authorization from DHS. The person’s I-94 will not have the DHS employment authorization stamp and the alien will generally not have an EAD.
