  1. I get the goal but the issue is broader then an open embassy. Case in point my fiance was issued his visa on Jan 23rd. We had his ticket here booked for March 19th to give us both time to prepare and tie up loose ends in his country. His country sealed its boarders on March 17th nothing in and nothing out. He has a visa with a ticking date of expiration that we hope doesn't run out. With limited mobility to get here and the presidents current impending ban on immigration. Seems a bit of a mute point.
  2. I have no idea who stopped him. I just know he was stopped in Frankfurt and flown back to tunisia and apparently the embassy is reimbursing him for the ticket due to not providing that to him with his visa? Second hand information is always not the best but I couldn't go on without asking the question.
  3. Thank you!! I was trying to find something with search but I guess I was doing it wrong lol It is very concerning as it looks a lot like filling out the questions on a DS 160 all over again.... I don't understand why you would have to do that....
  4. My fiance had his interview at the american embassy in tunisia on the 23rd of January and received his passport back with the visa on tuesday January 28th. My fiance will not be coming to the us for a few months so we can arrange some things. My fiance made a friend in the interview who also received his K1 visa on this last Tuesday and flew back the same day with his fiancee. He got stopped in Frankfurt and had to return due to not having a ds 5535 form filled out. This is the first time my fiance or I have heard of this. Can someone explain? My fiance didnt get a request for this form do we need to fill this out? Is it country specific of the country you fly through? My fiancee will be coming through france. Any information would be extremely helpful.

  7. @Greenbaum sorry getting back so late rough week haha. So I'm super confused. I think I got P3 as an email? But the email gave us our interview date and what to bring etc. I attached them. I'm confused because is it normal to recieve the interview date before we even paid the embassy fee or done the ds160??? I'm trying to attach the screen shots but the files are too large grrrr
  8. Thanks I asked the first woman "to be recieved?" she said "yes can take up to up to 6 weeks to recieved." This response just didn't set right with me, Which is why I called back tonight. Glad I did. Not sure if it makes a difference, the first time i called this morning I called the immigrant visa number. Tonight I called the nonimmigrant visa number.
  9. Called this morning they told me would be 6 weeks. They said I should call back then ...needless to say was bummed but not defeated.... so I called back tonight.... Our case was recieved today! She also said shouldn't be long to get a case number because k1's are being expedited NOA 2: 11-7 NVC recieved: 11-20
  10. Got email and text our case is approved! Checked the site and its updated. Did a little scream and happy dance at my desk. Haha. Just waiting for the paper now. Looks like a lot of notifications today. That's awesome! Noa1 7-25 Noa2 11-7
  11. Thank you everyone for the advice . I had to step away from the site for a bit as one can drive themselves crazy reading every possible post while waiting lol I realize not much can be done while waiting for the first approval. I have never believed sugarcoating is a good thing in these situations, one must be realistic with thier expectations. I am very grateful for the responses and will come back for advice as we get farther in the process of course.
