  1. One more thing, if you can't eat much, you can try some of these foods - they don't upset the stomach:

    Safe Foods To Eat When You Can't Eat Anything

    * White breads (such as French or sourdough), not whole wheat or multi-grain

    * Toasted plain bagels

    * Toasted plain English muffins

    * Cream of Rice cereal

    * Pretzels (salted or unsalted)

    * Fat-free Saltines

    * Fat-free fortune cookies

    * Plain angel food cake, homemade or from a mix

    * Plain baked potatoes (without the skin)

    * Plain white rice

    * Arrowroot crackers

    * Cold fat-free cereal such as Corn Chex, Kix, Rice Chex, Rice Krispies, Honeycomb, or Corn Pops, eaten dry. At all costs avoid bran, granola, and whole wheat choices, as well as cereals with raisins, other dried fruits, or nuts

    * Homemade dried or fresh bananas

    * Plain cooked pasta (not egg), sprinkled with a little salt

    * Lots and lots of strong hot peppermint, fennel, chamomile, or ginger tea

    You can add me to the club :whistle: . Morning sickness is a killer. I love all the pictures on this site :) so lovely. Im off to rest feeling so tired. Congrats to everyone else and all the best. :thumbs:
  2. You know what's helping me with my morning sickness now? I bought this:

    http://www.pregnancystore.com/morning_sickness_magic.htm

    It took about 4 days to kick in but it works! I add a little extra vitamin b-6 though. My doctor told me that I can also take 1/2 Unisom tablet and vitamin b-6 (up to 200 mg per day). You can read more about that here:

    http://health.msn.com/encyclopedia/healtht...entid=100077440

    The Unisom and Vitamin b-6 combo is safe! talk to your DR about it because women shouldn't have to suffer like this. I hope you feel better soon. I have had morning sickness for about 7 weeks now but like i said, it is really tapering off from these supplements. I still have issues eating though - I have to eat what my body craves. If i were to just go and cook something that I really didn't want, I would get sick trying to eat it. I have been eating whoppers from BK for an entire week now! LOL ... Only thing my body will accept. My favorite food is spaghetti. I cooked some the night before last and OMG, I nearly threw it up. Other than that, I am feeling much, much better!

    Also, don't let your body get tired. If you become overly tired, morning sickness can flare up. i used to be a night person but since my daughter goes to school in the morning and I gotta get up at 7am, i am now in bed every night by 8 or 9. If i stay up past that, i wake up sick.

  3. What are you trying to do to lose weight? I gained 65 pounds with Ariana. When i finished breastfeeding, i went on the Atkins Diet. I lost 75 pounds in 3 1/2 months but I don't really recommend that diet to anyone else anymore. I tried it for a second time about a year ago and it made me very sick.

    I like weight watchers! Have you tried them?

    Magnolia,

    I am trying to lose weight period right now,

    for some reason after the baby I gained ALOT really quickly.

    During my pregnancy I actually lost weight by being on the strict diabetic diet, but it was SO hard, I missed milk and fruits etc.

    I had my thyroid checked....normal damnit!

    I am hoping if I just lose weight in general my blood sugars will come down.

    I know that after having gestational though my odds are at 60% of getting type 2 and it seems I'm well on my way :(

  4. Really? I didn't know you can vote for a post!

    I just read the AOS/medical exam thread on here which prompted this post. Time and time again people who are adjusting status are being hassled when trying to get their I-693A vaccination supplement form transferred. Most of the time people are getting told they need new complete exams.

    I think it would be beneficial for VJ members if DR Arnold's information were posted somewhere easily accessible on here. It is simple and painless to get him to do this form for people. $10 and all you need to do is mail in your DS-3025 vaccination sheet. If his info were available on here, people would no longer have to deal with the hassle of overspending money OR having to drive miles and miles away for this.

    I agree. There is some way you can vote for a post but I forget :blink: It sucks getting old :wacko:

  5. That is great that they did it free of charge for you!

    I only called 1 CS on the USCIS website for my area....he was the closest one to me , the other were about 2 hrs driving distance. Very polite and transfered my vaccinations over to I-693A , Free of Charge, didnt suggest i needed a full medical done. Knew exactly what needed to be done. Great CS :thumbs:

  6. hehehe, well you know what I am going to say! Dr L.E. Arnold - simple and painless ... not to mention - CHEAP!

    Thanks for getting inspired! It always annoys me when I see how DR's are trying to give a complete medical. I live in Illinois and the closest CS's in my area are all in Naperville. I called almost every clinic and they all wanted to do a full exam and the cheapest I found was for $300. I almost gave in until I came across Dr Arnold!

    How about this be a thread for ANY civil surgeon that you had a very GOOD or very BAD experience with. Be it for a tranfer of info to the I-693A or a medical with the form I-693 being filled out. This thread was prompted by Magnolia posts in Site Related Discussion - Updates, Ideas, etc under the title:Civil Surgeon's Name Added on VJ?

    Sheriff Uling added:

    Beneficiaries that are adjusting status are being INCORRECTLY told by some civil surgeones that they have to complete a medicial exam somewhere in every state. This is not new. You might consider creating a generic civil surgeon thread so that others can also post credible and respectable civil surgeons (in their prospective areas) that don't try to make beneficiaries undergo a medical exam or charge a ridiculous fee to transfer the vaccination worksheet. Just a suggestion...

    Cheers!!!

    Sheriff Uling

    Omoba said that there had been a tread floating around. Does anyone know where it is?

    and then I added this:

    Below is a post by John & Annie, certainly they had a good CS that was willing to work with them. My husband did his medical and shots in Guyana. Dr. L. E. Arnold transferred the vaccinations to the I-693A. In the US my husband had his TB and STD's test at the local health clinic and a full medical at my doctor with blood tests and I will be considering going to a CS if we get an interview and would love to get a "workable" doctor who would be willing to use all these results to tranfer to the 1-693 as that would save me money. So why don't we make this a place to post become a place positive experiences with CS. Just provide the location, name of CS and your experience and money spent.

    We just did the Medical.

    The medical cost us $85.00.

    We needed one additional test and that was $28.00

    I called the CS office and got a list of the tests that they would normally order, went to our family Dr and asked if they would order the tests, so insurance would pay for them. The CS accepted the lab results and we did the whole thing for a total of $123.00, including the office co-pay.

    I would call the local CS and see if they will accept recent lab results, regardless of who orders the test.

    So folks add your comments on civil surgeons - the good the bad and the ugly. We all would love to hear! Don't forget to include their name, location, phone number (if you have it), your experience and money spent.

  7. I see that you had moved back to Germany and surrendered your GC - I kind of did the same thing. What visa did you just apply for? I don't know what DCF stands for. I hated having to go through this whole process again. I lived in the US since 1983-2002

    Ok here its is, my Frankfurt interview experience :yes:

    Frankfurt is aproximatly 45 minutes away from us and my interview appointment was @8:00am so of course we left the house @6am :lol: (never know if you get into a traffic jam)

    We (my hubby, my oldest daughter & me) arrived there like an hour to early so we went to Mc Donalds for 30 minutes and walked to the Konsulat to line up (a huge line) a Officer came and asked "whi is here for a VISA interview?"so everybody with a interview raised their hands and where asked to step to the side and all the way in front of the line :yes: Cool so we don't have to wait until the other 100 people get in first LOL.

    He gave us a ticket, I had Number W502 :yes:

    then we were asked to step in the security check point room (always 4 people only) take of your watch, a belt if you where one, hand them your purse etc. then walk through that whatever it's called thingy LOL take your stuff and proceed to the next building.

    The first thing I had to do was taking my Dumbo Passport pics (which are cheaper @ the Consulate then outside!!!! 6 Euros for 4, in Aschaffenburg they cost you 12 Euros)

    Then my number was called for Window 23 to turn in my Passport, my DS 230 Pt II (NOT SIGNED!!!) the Lady handed me a big brown envelope and told me while I wait for the next Window to put the stamps on the envelope and to put my mailing address on it. Then she handed me a green Letter with instructions how to have my Documents in order. I did the stamps part & the Address the rest I already did @home.

    My number got called again for I think it was Window 17 but I wont lay my hand in fire for it LOL. The LAdy was absolutly nice and friendly, she asked me if I want to have the interview in german or in english, I replied in english due to my husband not understanding any german. She told me the order of the Documents she would ike to have one copy and the original, handed me the originals back, then she explained me the SSN thing but said ÿou already know that right?" yes I did since I lived almost 6 years in the states :yes: she handed me a Guide for New Immigrants "Welcome to the United States" wished us luck in the states and to take a seat for our final and actual interview with a Consular Officer.

    After a few minutes of waiting my number got called again and we again had a very nice & frindly Officer. He told me that my papers are all in order and when we met, my husband grint and replied September 11th 2001 :yes::luv: the Officer had to grin to because of the date but that is in fact the first time we where talking LOL

    The we were asked were we intend to live and I replied first North Carolina and then we are going to Florida the Officer smiled and said he is from North Carolina and only a hour away from my hubbys hometown lol. He took my Fingerprints, had me sighn the DS 230 pt II explained me about the envelope and NOT to open it, also about the missing corner being normal and so on, then he wanted to know if I have any Questions I said No and he told me my Visa will arrive within a week as certified mail :thumbs:

    SO I AM APPROVED!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance: woohooo

  8. Oh man. My daughter had colic teh first few weeks and oh my god, every night at 1am she would start her screaming spell until 8am. It NEVER failed. I burned out my vacuum from having it on so much but it was the only thing that would make her fall asleep right away. I hope I do not have to deal with that again this time.

    HAPPY PREGGO TIME LYUBA.

    @LIZZY...YEEEEEEEAH another boy. Congratulations. I bet you are overexcited...

    @Jonesy: However the baby's wake/sleep cycle is now...it's gonna be the same as soon as it's born. Luckily they get the hang of that bright means awake and dark means sleep thing fairly fast (our's did). Good luck and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

  9. Have you tried a diabetic diet? My risk has increased because I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian disease) and my DR told me to start eating the diabetic, low-carb way. I have some really good recipes! I am borderline diabetic - not sure exactly what that means but I do need to watch it. I think I will have gestational diabetes again this time. I had it with my first child but not my second.

    I had gestational diabetes and am now pre-diabetic.....never was before.

    My last two fasting blood sugars have been 118 and 121....if it gets to 125 (twice) I wll have full blown type 2 diabetes :-(

    Trying HARD to lose weight and get back in shape to head it off.

    I had to do the 3 hour glucose with BOTH of my sons and both times it came out fine.

    I probably got the gestational this time because of my age (was 39/40 while pregnant)

    CONGRATS Grandpa Jasman and "team blue" Lizzzy. Boys are great!

  10. I don't think anything is wrong with telling them that. The faster you want to be together just shows your determination to be together.

    It might be the fastest way for both of you to be together, but you should take into consideration that it also requires you to get married so you have got to be ready for that. Also, it's not the final step you need to do, once you're in and married, you will have to file AOS, and then remove conditions. Too many people rushing it and end up with problems (don't take me wrong, many people have also have things worked out perfectly and are absolutely happy to be together with their beloved ones).

    Yeah, I will get married, probably 2 weeks after I get there, and get things ready, I mean, Is there anything wrong at all, to answer the CO, that we are going to the K1 process because it is the fastest way to be together?

  11. It's not that I am afraid of Juarez although over the past few years, a lot of crazy things have started happening - execution style killings, disappearing women (over 300), and the corrupt police officers in Juarez <------- as lon gas you have money you are okay with them, you can just pay them. Are you familiar with the drug lords over there? I loved going shopping there and it was more safe if you were with a crowd. I never crossed the border alone - especially at night. I lived there for most of my life and I suppose when you grow up in a lower-class, poorer part of the city where craziness does occur, you just stay overly cautious. I have had my stereo system stolen out of my car twice - both times were right in front of my house. I was robbed by a crackhead at the age of 17.

    I now live in a town which is considered safe. People here leave their car doors unlocked overnight. I see 6 year olds walking to and from school all alone. I am not used to that. We could NOT in a million years do that when I lived in El Paso.

    Why is everyone so afraid of Juarez? I drove all over the city and never had a problem? My wife was afraid for me a little but she worries alot for me when i am there. I was never afraid, just had to be careful of a few crazy drivers. She lived in a decent neighborhood so it was safe. She knows the city extremely well so we never got lost and she kept me away from the bad parts of town. One time I drove 18 hours to visit and took the wrong bridge (downtown) and got lost. Luckily my sprint cell switched over to roaming and calling her was a local call so she found me and I followed her home.

    The safest place to leave a car would be the airport in El Paso then take a cab to Juarez.

  12. So they lied to me? I say that if he was told (or maybe he needs to find out 100%) that he gets it - it's no hassle and better to be safe than sorry. I know for a fact that I was told that I needed it for the time I lived in El Paso, Tx.

    I lived in the US from 1983-2002. I needed a police certificate. I was told that you need one for each country that you have lived in since the age of 16. Since he lived in the US for 5 years, I say get the police certificate. It's a pretty simple process and should cost you between $5-$10. Call the police station in the city he has lived in. Ask to be transferred to someone in police records. They will give you instructions on what to do. I needed to mail in a written request asking for the certificate along with my money order. I got my police record within 5 days!

    The USCIS is a law enforecement agency and therefore has access to US law enforecement databases. As a part of the petition process, the USCIS queries these law enforcement databases. A police report for time spent living in the USA is NOT required.

    Also, if it's like that, why do we need to get the FBI checks done if it's so simple? :blink:

  13. I am not from the UK but felt obligated to answer. I met my husband back in 2003 when he was stationed in Germany. We had both been married before and when we met, we weren't really thinking about finding another marriage partner. We wanted to date, take it slow and go form there. To make a long story short, he got out of the army in 2005. He tried finding a government or contract job in Germany so that we could still be together but the pay was either too low or taxes too high. So, he ended up going back to the US where the opportunities were better. He found a job in FL. After being separated for about 2 months, we just couldn't stand it - it was unbearable! So we decided that I would come to the states. My daughter is American and i wanted her to attend school here anyhow.

    Anyway, I had a GC already (my dad petitioned for me in 83) so I figured I would just come back to the US right away. Did NOT happen - could NOT happen. I found out during my criminal justice degree program when I was taking a law class, that once I tried entering the POE with this GC, they'd realize i was out of the country for more than a year. Mind you, when I left the US in 2002, i had NO clue about re-entry permits, etc. Since I had my GC since I was 7, no one ever explained this to me. My mother always just told me that my GC was permanent and would not expire.

    So there I was all ready to go but couldn't. I contacted the INS, immigration lawyers, etc. A returning resident visa wasn't successful so my husband told me to forget all the ####### and let's just get married. So he then petitioned for the fiancee visa. Now here I am! My family wasn't too happy. Basically the reason for that was my daughter. They felt she would have a hard time adjusting and stuff.

    Gotta ask some sage advice of you guys, particularly those who got married sooner than they might have done to be together or so they could go to the US together. :help:

    I've been with my USC partner for 5 yrs now. We've lived together in the UK for the last 3 (he was here as a student). Where we would end up, and how it would it be possible has always been an issue for us, and I kinda assumed that if we wanted to be together long term we would have to get married. (to my annoyance every tom, ####### and harry from the earliest stage in our relationship has felt entitled to ask us if and when that would happen). Because we've both thought about it more than maybe someone else would, we've come to the feeling that we really don't want our relationship which has progressed and developed without rings and white dresses to be suddenly defined by them. My partner feels this way very strongly.

    Recently we got an EEA Family Permit (I'm Irish) for him :yes: , as unmarried partners, so we can stay in the Uk without getting married :huh: . However, the longer I stay here, the more I think that our quality of life would be a lot better in the US. The marriage can of worms was reopened. I talked to my family about it. At first they seemed fine, and happy for us, but I suspected they were dissappointed, and pressed the matter. It became clear that they'd be very disappointed that there wouldn't be a ceremony, and really couldn't let go of the idea that 'really we would be married'. Funny enough, my sisters were more affected than my parents who had a more 'well you love each other, that's all that matters' approach. Despite our protestations that yes legally we would be married, and we are happy with the legal protections that will give us as a couple. But we don't want them to think of us differently, or God forbid start asking when the grandkids are arriving. :bonk:

    I know that how we feel is pretty specific, but really I would just like to hear stories about anyone that is going in to or has gone in to marriage a little quicker than they would have otherwise. How do you feel about it? How do your family feel?

    We called the whole thing off, and said we would just stay here, but we think it's the right thing for us, and now are thinking about going ahead, and just lying about how I got the visa.

    P.S. Moderator, I would be most grateful if this was kept in the UK thread (L)

  14. Yeah, I know. I always call them civil surgeons because everybody else does. I figure if i say "panel physician", someone will get confused cuz it's happened before LOL.

    I didn't know about the difference in countries - I thought it was the same everywhere although I did wonder why in some countries people need to get pap smears while in Germany you do not. At least in my case, i did not. My private parts weren't even discussed LOL.

    What the hell? That CS seems like he is trying to get extra money because she does NOT need her vaccinations at this time. If there is REALLY something in her system, she needs medications, not vaccinations because the vaccinations can only make her immune system weaker. I had pneumonia when i went for my exam and my CS refused to do vaccinations!

    Thanks for the inputs guys

    No they did not keep her passport, which worries me.

    And the letter doesn't say "221 g" either.

    The officer did mention to her that they need the final report (i don't know the proper term) from the doctor before he could issue the visa. And the doctor won't hand it to her before she's done with the vaccinations. The Doctor said she something present in her system that obliges him to give her the vaccinations. She'll be done in 10 days.

    I gotta agree there - that's bullsh .............

    Sounds like a potentially corrupt doctor. If he vaccinates, he gets extra fees that he isn't entitled to, since vaccinations are not necessary until AOS.

    Does the US embassy allow her to go to a different doctor?

    If you can, get her to a different doctor, get the DS-3025 that she is entitled to get from the examing doctor, and consider a formal complaint about the current doctor *after* visa is in hand. At least, that is my opinion -- and probably not an expert opinion at that.

    Magnolia,

    The doctors in the foreign country are panel physicians and the doctors in the US civil surgeons. So his fiancee is not seeing a CS.

    The OP mistakenly said VACCINES in his post but meant antibiotic injections as treatment for the syphilis.

    It is embassy specific if regular vaccines are needed or not. The posts have their own requirements and do not always go by

    "the book ". So, in some 3. world countries vaccines ARE required before they will interview or will not get an interview. Period.

    You don't know where there has been a recent outbreak or what the conditions are, especially in African countries.

    So let us not rigidly insist that all panel physicians who give vaccines are corrupt. Again, this is embassy specific.

  15. I did! The glucose made me sick - I threw it up right away each and every time. I ended up having to retake it 5 times. On my fifth time, they finally smartened up and gave me a pill that would prevent me from throwing up after drinking the glucose - promethazine. Took it one hour ahead. Get ready for them to take your blood continuously during those 3 hours. Oh, BTW, when they did the 3 hour test, everything turned out good!

    With my very first baby, I was put in the hospital - I was diabetic. They starved us to death! LOL

    My DR's office called me this afternoon to tell me my blood sugar is 'elevated' from the glucose test and I need to go on Tuesday to take the 3 hour test at the hospital. DARN IT!!

    Anyone else had this??

  16. Yes, that is how she makes it! Sorry, I can't write in German but I CAN read it all! LOL Just want to let you know if you are wondering why I am responding in English.

    OMG, I just made fried potatoes like that the other day. You're making me hungry!

    Rotkohl mit Aepfeln...mmmh

    Bratkartoffeln mit Zwiebeln, Paprikaschotten und Eiern.........yummy.

  17. I for one know that you are definitely legit and I didn't even bother checking up on you if you wanna call it that UNTIL people started saying you were Justagirl. I also see nothing wrong with getting/wanting sympathy. To tell you the truth, if it were me, I'd want all the sympathy I can get. I find this to be normal and alot of people who are more emotional people like myself, would probably react the same way. You did nothing wrong no matter what other people may think and YOU did absolutely NOTHING to bring this on yourself. Do not blame yourself and do NOT go back into time and think about what you could've should've done differently.

    I see the post has been closed, many topics start to go down hill after a while. I will just say a few last words.

    I know some may think that my story might not make sense. If it doesn’t make much sense to me , I am sure that with the limited knowledge that can be shared through a forum, it is difficult to get a clear picture for the rest of you. Some people have suggested that maybe you did something to deserve this. True that when people tell their side of the story, they usually bend it to make themselves look good. If I was one the other end, and reading this posted by someone else, I would also think this.

    I know in my own heart and soul that I did nothing wrong to her and I had the best of intensions.

    I am generally a very mellow person. The thing that gets my blood boiling is rude people. Justagirl’s posts came off as rude to me and the blood thing seemed rather absurd that is why I added my own absurdity to the mix, The saran wrap thing along with a few others. Sorry for lowering myself to that level. She said that English, is not her not first language so maybe what she wrote and what was in her mind did not end up being the same thing. It is still my guess that she is on the younger side.

    It is interesting to me, that one a forum people really show their true colors. Some people are compassionate and courteous, some are curious and imaginative, some humorous or sarcastic, some immature, some are skeptics and then there are those that just come off as rude.

    This thread has gone on longer than I thought it would. I know that I have repeated myself many times over. When people had a question or commented I have tried to respond. I originally came back here to ask some legitimate legal questions and they were answered and I do very much appreciate this. As far as sympathies and pats on the back, they have helped and lifted my spirits and have given me courage to start to move on. Despite, what some have suggested, that I seem to calm and collected at a situation like this, I was hurt very badly. Its probably the fact that I have always been able to keep certain emotions bottled up. It’s the, boys are tough, upbringing. Just because I can keep certain emotions somewhat hidden does not mean I am a cold and distant type of person either or that they do not exist.

    I forget who wrote something like this. People tend to explain away bad news as Bullsh.t. I tend to somewhat agree. I think more so on a forum like this, where we are looking forward to and anxious to be with our loved ones. Or if they are here, that the paperwork and the relationship will go smoothly. Bad things do happen to good people. If I thought that I did anything bad to her, it would be way easier to deal with this. People will always have doubts about me as would I if I was on the other end, as you all are. I am certainly not the first and I can say with certainty that I will not be the last to get duped and used for a VISA. I am very thankful that she left after such a short time. I am glad that we did not get married.

    For those who have had an idea of who I am. I was originally on here as KINO. I live in Hawaii. And yes she was from Brazil. I tried to delete my profile.

    I do thank those of you who have been understanding and have helped me recently and in the past during the VISA process.

    If I do get some answers, be it from her or Sarah, I will let you know.

    My best wishes to all.

    Kino

  18. Justagirl - you have me blocked so I cannot answer your post. Not even sure you will see this ... are you gonna get naked? I don't do webcam unless there is nudity involved. ROTFLMAO

    :devil:

    Someone can bleed without it being her first time. She also might not bleed on first time. Also, hymens are no more like saran wrap than breasts are like bags of sand.
