If you email the embassy, they'll send you the email with the "packet" which gives you the directives to proceed. I believe this packet is also on their website if you search for it and is possibly on the Nigerian portal here on VJ.
Go ahead and schedule and do your medical!
Thanks for responding so quickly. I am definitely going to work on scheduling the appointment as soon as one becomes available. I wish I had known this sooner. My fiance actually saw a date available for November 26th, but we were concerned that scheduling the appointment before receiving the directive would cause an issue, so we decided to wait. We will just have to keep checking, and hopefully there will be available dates soon.

I am hoping to get some clarification regarding the K1 Visa process after the consulate has received the approved petition. Apparently, the consulate received our information on October 4th and the case status shows "Ready" on the US Department of State website, however we still have not received the directive from the consulate. My fiance and I have already submitted the visa application and paid the fee, but are wondering if we should continue to wait for the email from the consulate or move forward with scheduling the interview and medical appointments, gathering the required documents, etc. while we wait. Any helpful information/tips you all are able to provide would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
