  1. What city in the Philippines? I always did the Cebu thingy because I didn't like Manila so Cathay Pacific was always my choice. My ex-friend just came home on China but he usually flew Northwestern.

    It's Manila.

I would really much prefer to just buy her ticket for her from a website but someone told me a while back that they would request the credit card used for purchase from her at the airport, which would make this an impossibility. :/

  2. Hi try www.vayama.com they have cheapest tickets. I flew with northwest airlines.

    Goodluck

    Thank you for that website!

Let me ask you something, though--since I'm in America and purchasing HER one-way ticket for her to fly here, will there be any special requirements?

Someone on this forum a few weeks ago told me that if the American purchases his fiance's ticket online then that fiance flying from Philippines to America is required to show the credit card used to purchase the ticket at the airports. Is this true or not for this particular website you referred me to?

    If that's true, I can't do it. :/

    Please let me know.

    Thank you.

  3. Hello all! I finally plan to have my fiance fly into the US on January 20th.

I wanted to know what is the best way for her to purchase a ticket? Online is out of the question. I was planning on sending her the money at the end of December to purchase this ticket.

Also, it would help if anyone could quote the price they paid for the method they chose.

She's flying from the Philippines to Tennessee.

    Thanks!

  4. Hi Vann!

I bought my ticket from my travel agent in the Philippines last April and it cost us USD 895.00 plus Php 1620.00 travel tax. My route was MANILA to LAX then LAX to Jacksonville and I used Philippine Airlines and Delta. I entered with K1 Visa without any problem. LAX POE interview was very smooth. They usually asked same questions as the Manila USE interview. That's my experienced till my AOS interview.

I suggest let her buy the ticket in the Philippines because its much cheaper. Just tell her to search for at least 3 travel agents and compare the prices.

Relax :) her visa is good for 6 months so its ok you have lots of time to prepare for her homecoming.

    God Bless

    Lily

Thanks for your help! I noticed by your timeline your arrival in the US was April and you said you bought the ticket in April. What date did you buy it? I'm asking because my baby is coming at the end of January and she probably won't be able to buy the ticket until the end of December. I'm just worried about cost differences in waiting a month or less before the flight.

    Thank you very much!

  5. When it rains it pours, I tell you *Sighs*....

My fiance heard reports on the news about some filipinas being turned back once they land on US soil even though they had visas. Well, in this situation it was two women with tourist visas.

My fiance (and now I) is worried that she may be detained at the first US port of entry airport because of hearing all this news.

Does she have any reason to fear? Should she be fine? How do they generally look upon those who arrive with fiance visas?

I have something new to worry about now. *Sigh*....

This process can bring about such unbearable stress at times...

Also--I'm looking for the best flying method. Is there ANY website that would allow ME to purchase HER ticket so that all she would have to do is get an E-ticket from Manila airport or will she be required to buy a ticket from Manila airport herself?

I need advice on these urgent matters, please, as I trust those who went through the experiences much more than anything else.

I hope to put my worrying at ease. :(

  6. Basically, my fiance has her K1 Visa now as well as her passport but she told me she found out beforehand that she was supposed to have done this CFO stuff BEFORE issuance of her passport.

My question is--is this true or not?

    Not true!

My fiance has both her K1 and Passport in hand but has yet to do any of this CFO process. Can she still do it all even with an already-issued passport? If so--will she be required to do anything different? This is an urgent question I need answered. Thanks!

She can do CFO in one day. They will put a CFO sticker in PP. Required for her to leave PI.Have her take her PP with her visa in it and all documents relating to her case.

Not sure what it cost now. Maybe P400.

Thanks! Could you help me with my above question, please? Could she do the CFO next month? She's planning a departure flight to my country near the end of January. Does she need to do this CFO shortly before the flight or can she do it in November? Thank you!

  7. Claudeth did hers in Cebu  Cheaper hotels :P

Could you tell me another thing, please? My fiance is planning her flight here to the US in late January. Does the sticker the CFO puts on the passport have a limited validity? What I mean is--if she did the CFO in November would it still be valid for her to leave the country in January or is the validity limited?

  8. Hey all! I have quite a question here.

  10. Hello all! Someone mentioned something about CFO training on this board and, from what I understand, it has something to do with a passport being stamped?

My fiance received her K1 Visa yesterday and was told by the delivery man that she must attend some "counseling" that she was supposed to have before her passport was issued. She's to go to Manila and, from what she told me, visit two different offices.

Is this "counseling" meant to be CFO training?

    Thank you!

  11. She will need her passport from the bag but make sure she doesn't tamper with the brown envelope.

She will need CFO training and the stamp before she will be allowed to board an international flight

She mentioned having to return to Manila next month for "counceling" that would last for two days. Is this the CFO training, you're speaking of?

  12. Hi all! To those of you who know me--sorry I haven't been on a while--I've been so horribly busy lately, as you could imagine.

My fiance was informed that she must have some sort of pre-trip counseling in Manila.

Anyway, she received the K1 Visa just yesterday and she told me that the paperwork that she's supposed to show customs once she arrives in the US came in this sealed envelope which was wrapped in this plastic wrap. She wanted me to ask this question here: "The delivery man who gave me the K1 Visa tore the plastic wrap off of the envelope containing the papers for US customs. Is this plastic wrap supposed to be removed???"

Please answer this question, anyone who knows. Thank you!

    :)

  13. To OP: I should report you for everything you said but I want to keep peace here. You're the only person on this entire forum in the nine months I've posted here that I've EVER had any problems with. One more comment about my "emotional stability", my fiance's health in any way shape or form--or anything else offensive, I AM reporting you. I put up with this sophomoric stuff on other forums but I won't put up with it on an otherwise nice forum as VJ. Don't even post to me anymore. ENOUGH.

    yey! right on vann........ congrats!

My siblings are required to go back in US embassy in Manila on Monday, because they need to submit the original affidavit of support.

  16. STOP!

Here is a FIRSTHAND report from someone about what he SAW and HEARD.

If you don't want the truth about HIS experience--IGNORE IT!

How many others who run into this same interviewer would be on VJ the next day complaining: "No one told me how rough it was. I can't believe I wasn't warned about how tough some of the interviewers are!"

NO ONE complains about the HAPPY, easy interviews!

I guess ignorance really is bliss.

If you got/or do get a kind, easy interview GREAT.

But why are earth are you complaining about hearing about the POSSIBILITY of getting a very grueling interview.

    This is ridiculous!

I guess VJers are ONLY supposed to give happy, glowing reports of their experiences. If that's the case, VJ loses some of it's usefulness.

Hopefully we are all here to learn the good and bad---

There's a big difference between exposing the bad and doing what the OP did which was basically insult and scare people who are already so nervous.

Also, the "if you can't be there then don't come crying here if she's denied" speech was COMPLETELY out of line. People like myself who couldn't be with their fiances would obviously take great offense at that his whole "they are getting what they deserve and that's a fact" attitude is bound to set people off.

There's a BIG difference between providing a different take on an experience and just being rude.

When you do nothing but lay down blanket statements with no backup, make rude and presumptuous comments about those of us who couldn't be with our fiances, and responded with rudeness to ANYone who asks for a detail, then that is grounds for some negative feedback, quite obviously.

Furthermore, this person has still yet to provide full detail of the activity and only continues to insult those of us who took offense by him. Case in point--telling me I need Emotional help. Excuse me, but if you think I'm going to sit mutely by while someone says that to me you have another thing coming.

What he said about those of us who couldn't be with our fiances was not only a shot at us but our fiances themselves.

There's nothing in this world wrong with providing a dark story for a change. However, the attitude in which it is presented counts just as much.
