Right now his status shows Administrative Processing. They did not ask him to send anything else and he said that the lady interviewing him said that he should have everything in 2 weeks but she did not give an official approval. From what I've read most people get approved on the spot if they're not asked for any additional information which is why I'm concerned. 

My fiance just finished his interview and said that he was told that our case was very straight forward and that he can expect to receive his passport in less than 2 weeks and the next time he goes to the US that he should be prepared for it to take longer because he'll have to go through immigration. They did not ask him to send any additional information or seem to have any issues with anything... the problem is that he did NOT receive the "Welcome to the US" sheet and the officer did not use the word "approved" at any point. He was only given one sheet of paper to track his application status. Any idea what's going on? Am I stressing for no reason? Did any one else have a similar experience?

We actually are not 100% positive if it is long form or short form. It is a 7x8.5" paper that his parents were given at birth, it's embossed and everything. It just doesn't have his parents names or the name of the hospital on it, but it's not just the small card. Until reading this website we had no idea that there was even a difference.... 

Where did they go to get it in a day? He is from Ontario.

My fiance has his interview scheduled for August 1st and we just realized that he only has a copy of his short form birth certificate. It is the original copy that was issued when he was born, but it does not have his parents names on it or any of the other information. Anyone know if it's a better idea to reschedule or to just go with that and hope for the best? 

I've heard administrative processing is a nightmare if they request more information. Anyone had success with just the normal birth certificate?

I was the one that did this and my interview was canceled! It looks like other people have done it too. If you paid the $265 you're probably good. If you look at applicant details it should say k1 not immigrant

Anyone have any idea how often Montreal usually opens up interview dates for k1 interviews!? I've been driving myself nuts checking for when they wi be available... just wondering how long people have typically waited to schedule. Thanks!!

Turns out we had an "immigrant" interview appt scheduled, not a "k visa" interview appt... We must have clicked the wrong option when we went through to schedule. We have created a new applicant profile and now we are at the stage called "pay visa fees"... 

Is there a way to pay the fees before the interview is scheduled? or will we pay them when more interviews open up and we go to schedule it?

So it turns out we had somehow scheduled an "immigrant" visa interview, not a K visa interview.. found this out by realizing (thanks to reading this site) that the interview was a Friday and K-visa interviews are only on wednesdays. We were able to change the interview type on the website and now it says we are at the "Pay visa fee" stage. It doesn't look like there is anywhere to pay until we can schedule (when more interviews open up) but I was hoping for some confirmation from someone here because we already messed up once. 

Do we pay when the dates open up and we pick one to schedule? If so, can we use a credit card? I've read some places it's cash only but I'm not sure where to send the cash...

Did you pay the $265 prior to scheduling? I keep seeing no interviews available and that my next step is to pay the fee. Do I have to send cash before I can schedule the interview? 

My fiance had his k-1 visa interview scheduled for July 6 in Montreal. He had his physical done yesterday and has everything ready and just received an e-mail that his interview was canceled and he has to reschedule. There are no dates available. Has anyone heard of this happening before? We have no idea why and don't want to reschedule just for this to happen again. 

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

My fiancee received Packet 4 on May 30 and we scheduled his interview for July 6 after it was received. Today he received an e-mail that his interview was cancelled and no explanation was given. He is trying to reschedule but there are no times available. Anyone have any idea why it would have been cancelled? He had his medical yesterday as well, so hopefully he doesn't need to do that again if there are no times available.

How long did it take to get packet 4 after submitting packet 3??

My fiance received a number from NVC but they didn't say anything about filling out DS-160. All it says is it wait and Montreal will contact me. When I put the number from NVC into CEAC it says it doesn't exist. I'm so confused about the next step. Help?

I received my NOA2 on April 6th and then my notice that my case was sent to Montreal from NVC on May 4th. Now I am not sure what to do.... I have a NVC Case Number and Invoice Number. Do I submit the DS 160? Do I wait? 

I've seen a lot of people commenting that they see their status as "ready" and I don't even know where to check for that. Help? 

When I log on to USCIS it still shows my case as "received" even though I received my NOA2 more than a month ago. This whole process is very frustrating and confusing.....

Can someone please explain where to check for a status? I keep seeing people comment that they have a "ready" status but don't know what it means. I received noticed that my application was being sent to Montreal from NVC last week and so far havent heard anything from Montreal. I have no filled out the DS-160. I have a case number from NVC. Is there anything else I can do? Help please!
