  1. Hi,

my wife is soon to file the I864 affidavit of support.

She is the petitioner, I’m the applicant and I have 2 children who are not Imigrating with me but may well follow in a few years.

The question on the form asks about the household size in the USA in order to work out the poverty line earning figure. By adding my children to the form, it seems that I will have to include them in the household number therefore increasing the earnings requirement. The fact is, they may not choose to come at all and certainly won’t come for at least 2 years so I’m not sure what to do about this as we are close to the earning limit already.

may be I’ve not understood the form correctly so I’m asking if anyone else has had a similar issue.?

    many thanks.

  2. Hi,  having recently had my I 130 approved, I’ve just completed the DS260 online and now started looking at the Affidavit of support. Going to go for the I 864 not the EZ but it seems that it has to be downloaded and filed on line not paper form, this means sending all supporting documents by uploading which is a nightmare on the CEAC website

    can anyone offer any ideas?
    many thanks

  3. Hi all, my US wife filed I130 on 10/10/2019 with Texas SC, NOA 1 was received on 10/15/2019.

Im a U.K. citizen so filing from abroad.

since the NOA1 I’ve had 2 in process dates on my USCIS page, one on March 3rd 2020 and one on April 7th

ive tried the outside of normal time line form, which I am for Texas and received the standard reply... Not outside of normal time line.

Has anyone had any similar experience who can please offer advice??

many thanks and good luck to all at this difficult time.

  4. Hi, could someone kindly point me to a thread which will give me some more info on timelines?

my US citizen wife filed the I 130 application on 10 Oct 19 with the Texas service center.

She’s had a couple of  case status messages “your benefit request has been accepted and is under review”

the last one on 7 April 2020

any advice would be gratefully received.

  5. Hi, I have a slightly complicated case in that my wife is a US citizen and I work for a UK airline. I travel 2 or 3 times a month to the US on a C1 visa but also visit my wife on my time off using my B1 visa or ESTA.

i want to apply for my green card as I want to retire to the US within the next 5 years.

my concern is that during the application process, I need to continue travelling to the US as described above.

I feel that with these complications, I am best placed to apply from the UK and probably should use a professional service rather than trying to do it myself.

Does anyone have any recommendations ?

    many thanks.

  6. Thanks for that Suzie, I have a B1 visa via my company who for some reason acquire C1 and B1 together.

the reason I have an ESTA is because the officer at JFK said that I’d need it for my global entry to work

once I obtained an ESTA, sure enough the Global worked fine. It recently expired and the Global now gives my an X..... I guess I need to update the global entry people so that global regognises my B1 visa... somehow...

  7. Thanks. Yes, I’m just getting started on this. I don’t want to apply from the US as I can’t afford not to be able to travel whilst the application is pending (parole to travel isn’t really an option)

with that in mind I plan to apply from the UK. I assumed that as the I 130 was filed by my petioner (wife) and she is a US resident, that she would file the I 130 in the US and I would file the green card application (I 485) in the UK

if there is a better way, or this simply won’t work, I’d appreciate any advice

    thanks!
