Yeah it would be nice if they updated the form and removed that option. I would have had no idea if I hadn't been a member of this site. Alot of people just waiting for SSA to update there file, and it will never happen unless they go to the office.

They are slow indeed! We got our passport back last week. The supporting documents, "naturalization certificate" was mailed out on the 21st. We should have that back in a couple days. I checked my wifes SS account online and tried to replace card, and it says they have no record of her being a US citizen. So I called and made appointment for 13th of august to go to SS office and update with them. You are going to have to go to SS office to take care of this Kica. Thanks to OldUser for all the helpful advice on this issue.

My experience with SSA OldUser. I called them today. I was on hold for 2 hrs. I finally got someone to pick up the phone. I made an appointment for the 13th of august at 1pm. She took my phone # so she could send me confirmation about appointment. I never received a text. I got nervous, and called back 2 hrs. later. I was on hold for 20 minutes this time. The lady who answered eventually said she could find no evidence of my 1pm appointment on the 13th of august. I then made a different appointment for the 13th of august at 2 pm. I gave her my phone # and email, and this time I got confirmation by text, and email. I just wanted to let everyone know to make sure you have confirmation of your appointment. I was also going to tell you that you are spot on about the checkbox on the form not working anymore. I went into my wife's SS account online and tried to replace her card, and it said my wife is not a citizen yet. So obviously SSA hasn't been informed of her citizenship yet.

We were approved for i-751 last year without interview as well. We got interviewed for i-485 adjustment of status though.

I think thats it. Congratulations!! We did the dmv thing the same day as passport application. We went to dmv in the morning, and then did the passport application process in the afternoon. All we have left is social security when we get my wifes passport and naturalization certificate back in a few weeks. I keep hoping we get lucky and that check box on the n-400 works for us.

We just got back from DMV. There was no issue at all. The lady looked at my wifes naturalization certificate, and updated everything in the system. She printed out a new state ID card for her, and she also registered my wife to vote as well. We were there about 10 minutes. The voter card will arrive in the mail in 7-10 days we were told.

okay I'll have to look into that for Florida not sure what the deal is there. but I guess I should probably do the DMV thing first if I read that they look at DMV records to see if a person is a citizen or not. no rush on that really that's I would say the least important thing out of all the stuff we have left in my opinion.

will do. I thought from what i read, all she needs to show is her state id, and her naturalization certificate. The dmv update is supposed to help with voter registration from what i read. Apparently, they look at the dmv records to determine whether you are eligible to vote or not.

My wife and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this site. This place has been absolutely amazing! We were able to find answers to any question we had involving our immigration journey. I wish everyone here still in the pipeline the best of luck, and I hope all of you finish your journeys. We are off to the passport office on wednesday to send out her passport application. We are then stopping by the dmv to update with them. I don't know if that is necessary, but from what I have read it is a good idea. We checked the SSN box on the N-400 form so hopefully that is taken care of. I have read here though that it is good to follow up with them as well. So we might give that a couple weeks and see if USCIS takes care of business or not.

yeah I know I just said US citizen cuz I knew she was getting it done the same day so it's a foregone conclusion.

well, we just finished her interview at orlando usxis office. My wife is now a U.S citizen! She was only in there like 7 minutes. we are waiting now for oath ceremony same day which is nice.. Its all over, hooray!

just let it happen my friend. I know that's easier said than done, but my wife and I have an interview in a couple weeks but we're working on 6 years to the day we first filed so it'll happen my friend just don't think about it it'll drive you crazy.

anybody have any insight into the Orlando field office? I'm just wondering if they do same day oath ceremonies there? my wife's appointments at 12:45 p.m. so I'm sort of thinking they might not be able to do it the same day.

hooray! we got notification may 1st about interview scheduled for june 9th for citizenship here in orlando.

we filed December 20th and have not heard anything since the biometrics reuse notification either my friend. I'm happy for all the people getting their interviews hopefully we hear something soon we're at 5 months right now waiting.

we filed on December 20th the wife and I here in Orlando Florida we also got the biometrics reuse but no movement since. our field office says 8 and 1/2 months. hopefully it's not that long, but believe me you are one of many many thousands waiting for an interview. on the plus side it's going to be a lot quicker than her i-751 that took 26 months.

We filed online on dec. 20th. We already have our 10 yr. green card which we received in may of 2024. We have received notice of acceptance same day dec. 20th, and reuse of biometrics notice as of dec. 30th. I find it a little strange that we have not got any notifications online about the reuse of biometrics. The case status still says case being actively reviewed. Hopefully things move fairly quickly. We wanted to take a vacation to south korea this yr.

We filed for citizenship on dec. 20th of 2024. We just got biometrics notice of fingerprints being applied to our application. We don't have to go for biometrics which is nice.

My wife is from Marinduque, philippines. It's and island down south of manila. We have to take a bus for 4 or 5 hrs. to a port, and then take a ferry for 3 hrs to get to her province. The island is inland, surrounded by other land, and not in the open ocean.

Thanks sarge. I was beginning to think it would never happen. We are just shy of 27 months. I think citizenship will be a piece of cake compared to this wait. I'm so glad to be done with all of this for a while.

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got an update today. On May 7, 2024, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number --------- and will mail it to the address you gave us. Hooray!!! It's over finally! I wish the best of luck to everyone still waiting. We were at potomac service center. They had they longest waiting period of all of the service centers.

yeah I believe United started nonstop to Manila from San Francisco as of October of last year so that definitely be a good option for you to check out. I'm in the know because my wife's relatives work for United out there in San francisco. haha!
