I will call them again for sure. I find outrageous that they blame me for "filing late", my papers - nice and packed the stupid way they want them and filed as if the dumbest person in the world has to go through them (sorry, I'm frustrated) - have been sitting somewhere at the Center for 4 weeks! And tracking number is not proof? are they serious? I wish I would have been able to file earlier, one week earlier was enough, I think I wold have my NOA by now.

I totally understand you. I would be frustrated too... 1 month should be enough - and by the way it worked in the past it would have been enough! Unfortunately my husband read an article yesterday (sadly I don't know where) that was from the beginning of april (the time the mess started) where Trump said he wants as much GC renewals as possible denied. ... And they listed the reasons for the denials. And he shortened the staff and the money for the SC anyways already... guess we are the ones who have to suffer... :(

Yes, that was her only option. She said to prepare a new application as well. I then explained  that my temporary GC expires on Friday. She answered that they are not responsible for this since I could have applied earlier. She made me feel as if I applied last moment really.

Wow Maralba... that is pretty bad :( Maybe you just call again tomorrow. Maybe you get somebody else on the phone then who is of better help.

This is exactly what freaked me out. if it's not a proof what is it then? I wish I could get a lawyer into this but first I don't really know how helpful it would be and second...my husband and I don't have the funds to pay a lawyer as of now.

I don't know what to do... I suppose I'll have to book an appointment with the local USCIS.

Lawyer is***** expensive :( I could not afford one!

And the best part is, we would have absolutely no recourse whatsoever. I'm calling tomorrow too.

Hmm, I think the other girl managed to get to a tier 2 officer even though they didn't have her application. Was it @bungajustin ? I'll try speaking to a tier 2 officer anyway. Sorry about your application maralba. So she suggested making an appointment with a local USCIS and that was it?

    Are you at CSC too?

A month as of tomorrow. She searched for it, she even pulled up my very old application for Employment authorization from ages ago when I was a student. She told me to get an appointment with local USCIS office and...MAYBE they will be able to help me. As for the USPS tracking number she said it's not a real proof that I actually mailed it.

Why is a tracking number not proof that you mailed it? Do they think they give us randomly tracking numbers at the post office?!

I called USCIS earlier, got transferred to tier 2, I had to arrange a call back it was 180 minute hold time.   They just called back, asked a few security questions.   They can see it was received on the 13th April, she stated I should receive my NOA in the next few days, I said the check hasn't been cashed, she says its in process.  Gave me my file number - EAC then 10 numbers - so I can check the status online, as of now its showing nothing :(   But I feel this is a positive step forward and within a few days (hopefully before the weekend) I'll have my NOA in hand so I can renew my driving license and be worry free for the short term  :)

Lets hope everyone else has positive news soon

That is awesome! Finally some good news :)

OMG guys, I just checked my bank account and it looks like my check is being processed! I'm not sure if this happened just by chance or if somehow my phone call from yesterday triggered it. I'm hoping this is a good sign for all us April filers!

Awesome. At least somebody seems to be still working there! I just checked mine again - nothing.

I'd say it depends on how badly you need it. If you don't have any upcoming travel plans, then even if your GC expires first it's still ok, they'll get to your paperwork eventually, as long as you filed within the 90 day window. If you have travel plans but still far, I'd wait for the 30 days first before calling or making an appointment. If your travel plans are near, then schedule an appointment right away.

... can only somebody from West Virgina say! :D:D We, here in the beautiful South-West of America, have a Border Patrol station everywhere. No matter where you wanna go - as soon as you leave the town you have to go through a Border Patrol Station and they always check my papers... if I would show up there with an expired GC they would put me into detention right away! :D:D

I just called the USCIS customer service. They couldn't tell me why things are taking so long, but they told me that it can take up to 30 days from the day USCIS receives the form. Since it hasn't been 30 days since they received mine (April 12), they told me to just keep waiting. If by chance we still don't receive anything by the time our GC expires, I was told to schedule an infopass appointment and they will take action depending on the urgency and how long since we filed the form.

That is exactly what I am planning on doing. They recieved my package a month ago (6th) and still nothing. And I need to book flights. That would not be a problem as we can get that stamp in our passport.. buuuut - what if I book the flight and then they open my package and send it back because something is wrong? Because they can for wahtever reason not cash the money order? Because - whatever? What then? In that case I would not be able to get a stamp and my flights would be lost money... I just can not afford that. Crazy that they have not even began to process the files from over a month ago. Why are they so backed up suddenly? It went smooth till end of march -what happened? When I sent the package I was so sure that I would have my NOA by now... and now they have not even cashed my money order...

I don't think its misplace. I am sure there some delays and they just can not give us answer at this point until we get the case number. I am not even sure if the lockbox will response to my email. Will see tough.

I am crossing my fingers. I really start to wonder what is going on. They should at least put a note on their webpage - something to let people know what is going on...

We sent our I-751 priority which was received by Vermont Service Center on 4/12/18 and we still haven't received any notice of action, and our check hasn't been cashed yet. Is there anyone experiencing the same situation?

Join the discussion of the I-751 April 2018 Filers. We all have the same problem.

Wonder if anyone has any insights - would it be faster if we filed through an attorney? Also I read somewhere that you can actually pay to expedite your application, is that true? (Sigh, I need to book a trip but requires the NOA to get the visa...) I know it's too late since I've already filed, but just wondering...

I am in the same situation. I need to book flights just dont wanna do it without the NOA. You never know and I don't wanna blow 3000 dollar in the wind. And the longer you wait the more expensive get your flights :( I hate this situation that we are in right now! I am waiting already since over a month for SOMETHING to happen....

  13. I was justthinking about this very uncommon delay at the SCs. That one woman from the may filers said she went to an infopass appoinment and the officer told her that they are really, really backed up at the moment and even sending out 2year extension letters to the people. Maybe the delay is because they are transfering now from 1 year extension letters to two year extension letters... just a thought.... :)

Hi guys, just replying to this thread as I appear to be in the same boat and sort of glad that I'm not alone here. We sent our I-751 to VSC on April 10 by UPS and tracking shows that it was received on April 13. I just checked my bank account and my personal check still hasn't been cashed. It is a bit disheartening as we have a friend that filed I-751 to VSC in March, and she says the check was cashed 3 days after receipt...  We don't have any travel plans, but I am getting nervous because my wife's GC expires on May 23.

She should get an appoinment for an infopass and the stamp in her passport.

    Mine was delivered today:D

Now the waiting begins, praying they cash my check and send me NOA1 asap.

I would not get my hopes to high on that as they still have not even touched the ones from april... we all are still waiting even for our checks to be cashed... They recieved mine on april 6th, and nothing happend until today.
