Hello all. June filer here. Biometrics completed on July 27. No change or update on my online account it still says that I am scheduled for my biometrics even after it was done. Do i need to make an inquiry regarding my case? Thanks all.
When did you file in June? Your online account should have updated after biometrics. I would open up an inquiry

The county courthouse doesn't have details of all tickets in that county? That sounds odd. Do they have a website you can search on?
-
Honestly all they want to know with that travel history portion is if you were outside the US for > 6 months which would break your residence requirement. I would put everything in but it won't matter much. I was asked if all of my trips were for "leisure" and that was about that. I couldn't even recall every trip that I had put on my application.
-
-
Put it on the application - just explain to IO if they ask during the interview. It shouldn't be a big deal.
-
Did you apply under the 3 year rule (married to US citizen) or 5 year resident eligibility rule. Under the 5 year rule - you don't need to prove much about your relationship or have your wife there.
-
Apply online - not sure why are you want to fill a paper application?
-
I didn't have an original divorce decree on me - I attached it with the application, wasn't asked for the original but I'm not married as of now so that's different.
Did your husband apply under 3 year rule (married to US citizen) or 5 year rule? Under the 5 year rule, the relationship that gave you the green card is not important. Under the 3 year rule, it might be but I wouldn't worry about it if it was under the 5 year rule.
-
Every office is different so you won't find anything exactly the same but mostly the test is conducted in the same way but other administrative policies vary by your field office. Try to search for the field office that you will be going to see what others have faced there.

Applied for my Passport next day (2/6) and its already been processed and printed. I should get it within the next few days! Can't believe the journey is almost over.

I forgot to add. I gave all correct civics answers. The last question was " name on branch of the governmet". To which I replied, "legislative, which is Congress". She said I was wrong! And tried to convince me that The Supreme Court was the legislative branch! I studied for civics every day for last 2 months. I was sure I was not wrong. I also checked the White House website, which confirmed that the legislative branch IS the Congress. Thankfully, she didnt fail me, but if she did, that would be so unfair. I can't believe that the person who takes the exam did not know civics herself.
Hah! One of the answers to that question is "President" as well which makes no sense - it should be Executive, Legislative, Judicial. I think USCIS adds more answers to make it easier to pass the test.

Thank you for the detailed information. I have mine scheduled for next week at 1 pm. So hopefully I would also get my oath on same day
Should be - you’ll probably be in the last group at 4p

Congratulations!! Could you share few more details about the interview
Sure this is how my interview went at the Newark, NJ field office where they do same-day oath's. My interview was scheduled for 10a.
I took a cab to to the office around 9:15a - arrived a little bit after 9:35a. I was hoping to get right into the building but there were two large security lines on both sides of the building (on the Walnut St side). Seems like this is a new thing at the field office - because of a security incident. By the time I was in the building - it was 10:05a but from what I could tell everyone was late to their appointments so I knew it was going to be a long day. They don't check your invitation letter at security but expect a TSA style security with 2 people manning one gate so it was pretty slow and overdone honestly.
Once I was through security, I headed to the elevators to take it to the 15th Floor (per my interview letter). I showed my interview letter to the guard there and I was told to go to Window 2. The waiting room there is basically 8 glass windows and 3 doors. The doors are used to bring people in for their interviews and the windows are used for administrative things like signing your Naturalization certificate, giving you a flag and the white envelope with more information on your rights and responsibilities as a US citizen.
The person behind Window 2 took my letter and asked me to take a seat. I waiting about hour and half before my name was called over PA system to come to Door 3. I followed a young USCIS officer to this office where was I sworn in before I took a seat. Next he asked me my full name and asked me to put my left and right index fingers (one at a time) into the fingerprint reader. He also took another photo using the webcam that was there. Next he asked me my address ( I had just moved but not outside of the USCIS district ) and already submitted an AR-11 so he looked that up and updated my application with the proper end dates for my last address.
Next we went straight into the tests - the questions were pretty simple:
1. What's the ocean on east coast of US?
2. What's freedom of religion?
3. When was constitution written?
4. Who was first president?
5. Whats one state that borders Canada?
6. How many amendments to constitution?
I got all six correct so we moved on to english test. It was a simple question I was asked to read off the iPad and then write the answer that he spoke on the iPad. Writing things on the iPad was hard - you have to use this weird stylus that doesn't have a tip (it has like a rubber ball on the end so very odd to write anything with it)
Next he wanted to know how I got my green card (through marriage) and then asked if we were still married? I answered no. He moved on to ask me my ex-wife's name and how we met. He proceeded after my answers. He asked me the yes/no questions to whether I support the constitution, willing to take up arms? I answered yes to those. If I'm part of any group / nazi etc. I answered no to those.
He then asked me some basic questions like my height, address history, travel history, DUIs trying to make sure I was the person who filled out the application and I didn't have any red flags. Once he was done he asked me to sign on the iPad that he updated my address on the application, etc and made sure my name and DOB was correct on the application as that's what would go on the naturalization certificate.
He then congratulated me and told me I would take the Oath today. He gave me a paper stating I passed and I would be scheduled for an Oath. Another form was all a questionnaire which asked questions whether anything had changed between your interview and your oath ceremony (like were you arrested, did you become a nazi / military lol). That had to be submitted before they put you on for the Oath the same day.
I filled out the questionnaire and waiting another hour and half (since it was lunch time and I missed the morning oath ceremony by about 20 minutes). I was called to the window where they took my green card (current and old). They asked me to make sure the certificate had all the correct information. I was then asked to sign the certificate and given a flag and envelope with a guide to naturalization (rights and responsibilities) and the national anthem.
20 minutes later, we were moved to the large conference room where oaths are held. We watched a few videos and the USCIS officer explained how awesome it was that 55 people from 18 countries had selected the USA as their home and it was really the end of all of our struggles with immigration. We then sang the national anthem, took the oath and were handed our certificates. There was no photo / video allowed during the ceremony but we could take photos afterwards.
So after 12 years in the US and 4 hours at USCIS on Tuesday, I'm finally a proud US citizen. I'll be applying for my passport and registering to vote today and then handling the SSA stuff in 2 weeks.

Please mark me as complete. I've become a US citizen today. Interview was pretty easy and straightforward - took me about 4 hours from getting to USCIS to having the certificate in hand.

Hi everyone,
Just checking in and looking at the timeline .. Congratulations for those who got the interviews and the ones who are already citizens!!
Has anyone experienced no change in “estimated wait time”?? It is so frustrating for me that mine hasn’t changed a bit.. Still says (December 2019)!! I read alot that this wait time thing changes after the biometrics but it never did for me!
Mine actually changed for the worse - went from 9 months to 15 months. Luckily I have an interview date next month. It really doesn’t mean anything. Mine still shows April 2019 estimate

Their 10yr B2's expire early next year. I assume putting my status as a USC next time will be an issue for them on their next application?

Are we supposed to answer the question as per the results of the 2018 election or do we wait for a new guide to be released?
-
Actually if you read the email again - it just states that they decided on your N400 petition and approved it and issued you a certificate of Naturalization (which you received at Oath). The email is just their electronic systems being updated with the latest status of your N400 petition. Nothing out of the ordinary or anything that requires any action.

Sounds like a mistake. ARC stands for Alien Registration Card - usually stamped for green card holders only. I would contact CBP and have it fixed.
