My husband is already documentarily qualified and already has his interview date. Just thinking that since my health insurance is under medi-cal, would it cause any problem for my husband's visa approval? Since me as the petitioner is getting support from the govt thru medi-cal? Though i understand that the public charge rule has been blocked, just wanna confirm and make sure.
Check out this link as it pertains to your concern: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/Presidential-Proclamation-on-Health-Care.html?fbclid=IwAR0Ax8nitTwN_190p2S3kPeiM8pdmmTQGMte4AJDuvq-UT-mN_t3SYw-5H4

I "think" it safe to assume your husband will be fine at this stage of the process. But then again, I don't know
Perhaps someone more knowledgable can chip in.

Hi, all! I'm just wondering, im the petitioner and currently my health insurance is under medi-cal, would that be a problem? My husband's interview is in 2 wks time. TIA
Hi, I don't understand your insurance related question. However, in order to reach the interview stage of the process, your petition must be documentarily qualified so I don't think insurance will an issue at this point.
Best of luck!

thanks! Have you received your interview date from NVC? it has been around almost 4 weeks after your case was qualified on the 27th?
Nothing yet. Will keep you posted for sure.

Thanks. Do you mean after the documentations are qualified it takes another 4-6 weeks for NVC to notify you the interview time? While depending on where the interview is conducted, it will likely be a month after NVC's notification?
Correct.

Do they start scheduling interview after the docs are qualified? So yours took only 2 weeks to be qualified while the NVC site says 6 weeks (currently processing ones received on Aug 23rd)?
Yes, the timeframe on the site is lagging. Based on other's timeline, NVC emails the interview schedule within 4 - 6 weeks once documentarily qualified.

Ok, I was thinking they need to review your document after accepting it. Please update me when you get an interview date.
Thanks
Yes. They only accept after reviewing or they reject it.
Will keep the thread posted.

Wow, The website doesn’t say anything about document position and when I called and asked they told me the website supports Only IE browser. What happens after the accept your document? Do they schedule you for interview or they still need time to review the document?
Thanks for the response
Once documentarily qualified, you get an email confirming the same and explaining that they will work with your particular consulate to schedule your interview.
Based on other's timeline, should be scheduled for interview within 3 - 4 weeks.

Congrats, My documents was rejected because it’s not in the right position. I wanted to check if submitting online makes document review faster. I first submitted the document on sep 13 and got rejected on September 16. Resubmitted again on Sep 18 and noting so far. I see that they are working on documents from Aug 9. Any insight!
Thanks
Doc rejected for the same reason. Re-submitted same day. That was the 13th, qualified today the 27th.

Can you explain about the right-side up? I want to make sure when the time comes that the welcome letter arrives and needs the docs, I get it right
When viewing the scanned documents on your screen, words should be displayed horizontally. You can correct that with a click or two as needed.

I'm glad this part of the phase is finally moving forward for you. You don't have your timeline completed, so I hope you don't mind me asking this question...how long did it take for NVC to receive your documents after USCIS had approved it? In other words, how long did it take to go from NOA2 to NVC Received?
I'm still waiting for NVC to receive my petition as some on this forum have said it can take up to 6 weeks, but when I called USCIS yesterday, they said their maximum time frame is 90 days and it's still within the time limit. Thanks.
Took 3 months + a couple of weeks and the only way I found out was when I called the NVC. They claimed they didn't have any email on file so had to use regular mail which hasn't yet arrived. Got the case # and invoice ID over the phone.
Tip: when submitting scanned docs, make sure the right-side is up so the words are displayed horizontally. They reject docs for something they can correct with one click.

HEllo ,
Based on my timelines (approval 25th April , received Welcome letter 23rd July ) , I believe you will get the NVC Welcome letter end of Aug or 1st Week of Sep.
Approved 17th April, yet to hear from NVC. They work in mysterious ways.

nothing else just this
Received the same email. But here's what they wrote on a previous email.
"NVC recently received your visa petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Your petition is currently awaiting data entry into our local system. Your petition will process as part of our online Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) Processing, as soon as this step is complete."
And then it added:
"Unfortunately, since your case is not in our systems yet, we cannot make additional updates at this time. We suggest that you begin reviewing NVC's online CEAC Processing guidelines on our websitehttps://nvc.state.gov/ceac. We highly recommend you review the documents available in the 'Need Help?' section at the bottom of the webpage to familiarize yourself with our process.
As soon as we completely enter your case into our system, you will receive a notification containing your login instructions for CEAC. This notification may come by email or mail depending on the contact information within your visa petition. If you still need assistance with updating your case after you receive this letter/email, please contact NVC using the method of your choice listed onnvc.state.gov/inquiry"

Hello,
Do I need to wait for NVC to start my process before I apply for Police Certificate ? My spouse 130 got approved on 25th April (PD was july 27 , 2017 ) but have not got any communication from NVC yet.
Just wandering is there anything which I can do before NVC start my process.
Also is there any specific template /format available for Police Certificate ? I did not find anything on that in NVC website ? Could anyone please help/guide me about it ?
Many thanks
Police certificate as far I know is good for 6 months only. So if you get it now and you don't know how long the process will take, you might have to get another one so better wait. Your local police station should be able to provide that. No specific format. Just that you haven't been convicted of any crime etc etc.

My case was approved on april 18th but NVC still didn' contact us. Is this normal? Any similar experiences? thanks
Same here. 17th April. Called NVC and learned that they did NOT get it. Instructed to email a copy of the approval notice to NVCresearch@state.gov
8 days later got a reply saying they have no record of it and will be communicating with USCIS to locate your file.

they said they havnt recived anything from uscis yet with this receipt notice .
they said me to email them approval notice on nvcresearch@state.gov
i am worried ☹️
Just got off the phone with a USCIS rep who said they have updated the processing time from 30 days to 90 days. It still shows 30 days on the NOA2 but it's not relevant anymore. So I was further instructed to wait till it reaches 90 days and if I don't hear from NVC by then, I shall call USCIS again and they will look into it.

Just got a hold of a rep after 1 hour on the line... they haven't received the notice. Instructed to send a copy at nvcresearch@state.gov
Rep says this isn't unusual. So for anybody out there who's waiting to hear from NVC, it's imperative that you make sure they received it to begin with.

seriously ..why they say 30 days if they taking that long 😭😭cant wait to be with my husband
Wish I knew the answer. Waiting years to reunite with a loved one is not an easy task by any standards.

PD 27th April 2017 at CSC
Approved 14th April 2019
No word from NVC so far. Reached out multiple times on the Ask NVC form and emailed them as well.
What phone number did you use to speak to a rep?

Hi everyone,
My wife is the beneficiary our i-130 application. Our priority date is Dec 15/2017 at the California center. Since then we have received no other communication, our lawyer says it might be even another year before they look at our application. I wanted to ask the forums experience with the processing time and when you think I can expect an IL? I’m an Iranian-Canadian green card holder and my wife is British
thank you
Filed for my wife on April 27, 2017 (CSC), got approved on April 17, 2019 (10 days shy from 2 years).
So far, CSC has had the longest processing time of all the centers.

Please let us know what RFE is about, if you can. Seems cases that took longer to process (like yours) face with RFE. My wife's case is also around 22 months, still waiting for approval.
Thanks,
It seems to be the case. I will surely post as soon as recieved. Another filer on fb group said they were asked to present a Certified True copy of their marriage certificate. We will find out as the mail arrives.
