  1. So my wife got a form i797c saying she needs to fill out form i751.my wife came to usa for first time on 9-9-2022. 1st time she arrived at the airport the immigration officer said my wife is going to get a 10 green card.so when the green card arrives  in the mail it's a 2 year green card.so we fixed that and she gets the 10 year green card.so does she still need to fill the i751 form?

Don’t matter who fill out the application, the problem is that the applicant need demostrate at the embassy strong ties to the country. I am dominican and i do paper works for people apply for tourist visa, the applicant need has a good job and make good money to get a visa in Dominican Republic, sounds that your sisters in law aren’t working because nobody working can take a vacation of tow months in Dominican Republic. Many teachers get visa easy in Dominican Republic because they make a decent money, and teachers only have one month vacation, so where do they work that can take tow months vacation?

if they dont have a good job, they will lose their money. You paying for the flight show to the officer that they dont have money to pay for their own.

dominican embassy check their job, how much they make monthly, how much they have in the bank, if they have property, house, cars etc etc, the thing it is the look that you have strong ties to come back to DR.

She works in ministro de la mujer plus sells clothes on the side.

    * Go to SSA to get your green card

Did you mean ssa card? She already has the SSA card.

    * Apply for ACA health care if you need health insurance.

I got her on the covered California health insurance

for question "what is your current immigration status?" i click on 'conditional pernament reident"?  and "why are you applying to replace your pernament resident card/?" i click "my current card is incorrect becuase of a department of homeland security (dhs) error?

You spoke  to  tier 1 officer. They know nothing.

You will have to file I-90 to get a 10 year gc.  There is no fee for this.

Before you file I-90 do the following:

    * make an electronic copy of the front and  back of the gc

    * Go to SSA to get your green card

    * Go to the  state dmv to get a REAL ID drivers license

    * Apply for ACA health care if you need health insurance.

Update: I called USCIS.lady told me the permanent resident card is not the green card and that I have to file i485.im so confused lol

CR1 is a two year green card.  "Google says"?  What does that mean?  The timeline for receiving a green card after entry is unpredictable lately.

I am ir1,got confused.i Google searched "how long it takes for green card to arrive" says about 3 months then contact USCIS.the reason I asked is because someone who did case after me got green card in month and a half.same country

  10. SO 1st officer in the checkout window said no go on the 2vyear anniversary thing,I wasn't surprised he said that due to alot of people mentioning some officers don't really know much.they take us to a room and we wait maybe 15-20 minutes.officer #2 said cr1 changed to ir1.i explained plus gave him marriage certificate from dominican republic plus translation page of marriage certificate.thx all for the help.journey was about 28 months due to some of it due to the covid shutdown.

Yup, this happened to us and we were totally not expecting it. The very nice initial CBP officer saw all of our luggage and recommended my daughter and I go outside and wait for my wife there because "with all those bags it will take a long time"  (we had a ton of luggage). Anyway, once she was in there, they just verified address and that was it.

I noticed u mentioned luggages.were these check in luggages? I have only traveled check ins n carry on going into Dominican republic and check ins luggages are automatically at the airport in dominican republic.someone mentioned that I pickup the check in luggages in Miami airport.so I pickup check in luggage before getting into  the line?

Both.  The card will not be produced until both the fee has been paid and the immigrant has entered the US.  After entry, USCIS will compare the date of marriage and entry date to determine either 2 year card or 10 year card.

Ok wow nice, part of me thinks I should have paid that fee once in usa😬.thanks all for the help

Just make sure she doesn't enter the US prior to Sep 3.  You both can go in the same line, and you can mention it to the CBP officer, but he/she (CBP) does not make the decision regarding 2 yr or 10 yr Green Card.  That will be handled by USCIS before the card is produced.  Believe me, you do NOT want to do Removal of Conditions.  It can be a headache.

They start the GC process once my wife checks into the US? Or did they process it once I paid the usis fee ($220)

    She can use your line.

Nonetheless, I'd recommend you fly in on 5th. You do know there are different timezones so you flying in on the 3rd and trying to explain may get you nowhere and you may end up with a 2 year GC. Avoid all the hustle and fly 2 days later and everything  will be 100% sure.

    @Crazy Cat any input?

Well different people online told me different things.one said to go one week from Sept 3 just to be sure,a different person told me to bring marriage certificate to explain that we get the 10 year GC.i ordered flight like a month ago for 3 seats together.me,baby n wife.
