  1. Medical results from the Mater only take about a week, they are very organised and will call you to tell you the results are ready so you can go in and collect them in person. You are only supposed to send the notice of readiness when you have the medical back and everything else in hand. At best if you wanted to maybe send in the notice of readiness once you do the medical as the interview probably wont be scheduled before the medical comes back but even then I wouldnt risk it personally. When you do the interview the first step is one of the staff taking all the documents from you and making sure you have everything so it would be better to wait and have everything in hand.

  2. This morning I got an email back from the Dublin Embassy with my interview date and time scheduled.

It then said to go online and sign up with the CSC and pay my fees and confirm the appointment time and date they had given me.

When I registered though I got as far as the fees page and then there is a message saying

There are no available appointments at this time. Please check back in a few days as the Consular Section will open more appointments.

If I have an appointment and time allocated then why am I seeing this message? I called the CSC and the woman really didnt have a clue and asked her supervisor and then came back and said just wait a few days for more appointments to open up - but I already have my appointment I just need to pay the fees and confirm this date and time.

Anyone experienced this or no what the issue is??

  3. Wondering if anyone can let me know if the below situation is allowed or not or a grey area.

I have my own company (web design) and while I know I cant work for an employer in the US while waiting on my EAD but can i work on projects coming in through my company at home? I have seen posts online at people working freelance and on upwork etc but this is not my situation.

I have current clients who I do work for now and then making updates etc and obviously expect to have new clients in the coming months that will be looking for a web site etc. I havent decided yet long term  if I will get a 9-5 in the US or keep my business fully operational and work at it when in the US and eventually set it up there.

To clarify, any client currently pays my company (an LLC company I believe you call it in the US) and then I draw a wage from the business.

To my understanding there is a definite issue about my company working with any clients based in the US as they are getting the benefit of me doing work indirectly for their business - open to correction on this?

But does this also impact my ability to work with my existing clients at home and any new clients which would contact my company during this time?

    Thanks

  4. We called the NVC and got our case number last week but they said it hadnt been sent to the Embassy yet.

Have we to just wait now for them to send it and to get an email before theres next steps to be done?

I have booked my medical and have that next week. The letter from police records I need to show them a letter from the embassy so waiting on that.

Anything else we can do to cross off? Are the fees paid once the embassy gets in touch? They gave an invoice number on the phone but didnt follow up with anything yet.
