Also, looks like Islamabad processed it quicker than Montreal would do, you may want to consider processing it there. Wish I had done mine at my country of birth when they automatically assigned it there (waiting time was less than 2 months) vs. Montreal 5+ months. Unfortunately, for personal reasons my spouse couldn't make it so we got stuck with Montreal.

Some parts of the DS-5535 are now part of the DS260 form (i.e. Social Media details, etc.) however, I am not sure if its for selected candidates. So far, it appears that I've only been asked for such details even though I was handed the Welcome to the US green letter and the Officer mentioned it should not take more than 3 weeks.

Hi all, here's an update on my case:

As you may know, I was not able to attend my initial interview in April, was able to finally reschedule for July 2nd (

    - Interview scheduled for 7.30AM - Lined up at the embassy by 6.45 and was #2 in line - They started letting people in by 7.35AM - Front person checks your passports and immigrant visa interview confirmation - You are let in, through security check, similar to airport security check (my phone was stored and checked in with them until I left the consulate) - no bagpacks, no food, no drinks, etc.  - You are escorted down to the 'basement' where you are handed your number with instructions to organize your documents in a specific order (here's what I remember) Passport photos Medical Birth Certificate and translation Marriage Certificate Police certificate(s) Income Tax Return (however they never asked for it) You wait until the room is filled with enough people, then take an elevator to the 19th floor to the interview area You are seated until your number is called, first window person asks for the original documents above and for me they asked for a recent Job Offer Once all documents are provided, fingerprints are taken, address is verified, and then you are seated again I waited another 15-20mins until we were called in for the actual interview  Interview lasted 10-15mins (my case was complicated so it took longer than usual) - started with an oath, signed letter that I'll be working for the employer once I land, etc. Questions asked for my EB2 case: Who's your petitioner? What is your role title (was not asked for role description)? What is your salary? Location of your work Countries you visited in the past 5 years Your highest education - and majors for both bachelors and masters What university (both masters and bachelors) Talk to me about the countries you lived in since 16 years old - and under what visa (i.e. student/F1 visa in US, etc.) What was the last time you were in the States, date you left, etc. Wife was then interviewed, similar questions Both were given the green paper slip (approval) - passports were taken and they mentioned they'll be provided back to us in two weeks
Wish you all the best. Be patient, even though Montreal is slow in processing employment based applications, it will all be good! Once your I-140 is approved, your 'technically' only attending the consulate as a formality.

Hi all- I've been struggling with getting my interview date rescheduled. After contacting the Visa call center, Montreal Embassy and NVC several times, their only response is to let the interview date pass with a "no show", once it passes, only then I can call back in to get another date. I find this abnormal!

Did someone go through the rescheduling process or know of anyone who went through it recently with Montreal Consulate? It does not seem logical for me to miss my interview date (when it can be re-assigned to someone else who is in need)!

    Any advice is highly appreciated!☹️

They did ask me question related to the type of employment and the work location. Weather I will be working for the company in the their office location or work for their client in different client location ? Since I work with the clients, my answer was that I will be working at the client location most of the time. I did take all the documents including my Diploma, transcript, tax return, resume but consular office did not want to see those!

As for employment letter, I did not have it notarised. I didn't think its required but it has to be current within 30 days!

    Hi Everyone,

I had my interview yesterday.  Everyone at the US Consulate was super nice.  Interview was so short and I was approved verbally but unfortunately due to the retrogression I did not get my visa yet.  They gave me my passport back and said I have to watch for the visa bulletin and as soon as my priority date becomes current, to send the passport back and they will process it and courier the visa out to me.

God bless you all and best of luck with your interviews!!!!!!

    That is awesome news! Congratulations!!

Do you mind sharing when your interview date is?

Also, if it's not too personal, can you share the high level reason(s) for the expedite request?  Unfortunately I left the USA and living in Canada and I'm on unpaid leave for the past 2 months and unable to work remotely for the company until I get my Visa appointment scheduled. So I'm out of a job technically and just afraid it will take longer to get an appointment than expected.
  10. Thanks

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share the great news that my Immigrant Visa appointment has been scheduled.  My total wait time from cc to assignment of interview date was 109 days.  Has anyone else heard yet?  I put in an additional request to have the case expedited so I’m not sure if that is what pushed it through or if this was simply it’s natural course.  I hope you all get similar news soon.  Keep the faith!
