Hello everyone
i just wanted to update today we have been approved for our AOS permanent residence. It took our case 5 months from filing our AOS to get an approval. So even if you get held up at one point In the journey like we did it seems to make up later just stay 💪🏾 strong .
It has been a long journey and conditions in Haiti have been horrible throughout I continue to pray always and send my love and support to all that are still going through the struggle of waiting and worrying. My advice is that once a case is in the US system regardless of the status in Haiti it will process through and if you have a worry call the help desk and request an expedited due to the conditions and go to the consulate and request information because things are just sad at this time as they were when my husbands K1 was approved.
we are thankful just stay strong everyone Christ will prevail

@Juliette2784 how is it going for your AOS i-485? I've been waiting since May to get my EAD
We just did our biometric appt on the 1st so I think we have some wait time ahead based on what seems to be the wait time so we are just patiently waiting they said 3-5 months now but I’m hoping it’s sooner . We had a hiccup when we first sent the AOS package we sent 25 dollars too much 🙄 so they sent it back and we had to correct that and send it so it held us back a month but we are on track now so keep me posted on how everything goes and hope all is well

For those of you who have been following my Visa Journey, keeping me in your prayers, & offering me words of encouragement; I just want to say THANK YOU. Especially the Haitian K1 Visa thread. I finally got the chance to see this wonderful update this morning:
My struggles with my visa journey are available to you in my previous posts on my page, but I would like to update everyone on how it concluded to issued.
After following up with my congressperson around mid March to make a 2nd congressional inquiry, the embassy responded in 2 days and informed the congress to tell my fiancé to complete a new medical. The embassy let us know that they will be sending him another 221g along with his passport in order to complete the new medical and for him to send everything back through DHL when completed. This was on March 20th, it took my fiancé about a week and a half to complete his medical and send everything in. Embassy received it on April 2nd and updated my case on the 2nd, the 11th and the 18th is when my visa case status finally went from immigrant visa to non-immigrant visa. This morning it changed to issued. I am
so grateful and crying tears of joy because I finally get to be reunited with my loved one and this part of my visajourney is finally done! Now to worry about POE and AOS! At least my fiancé and I can do that together. Here is an quick recap of my time line;
9/19/2018- Interview went well but placed on AP due to embassy wanting to verify/confirm divorce info. I sent email asking them what do they need, if anything.
9/20/2018- Embassy replied to my email asking for “submit confirmation of divorce to the national archives”. Didn’t really know what this meant since we provided them with our national archive divorce forms already, but we gathered the judgement of divorce and the newspaper announcement (customary of Haiti) of his divorce from his divorce lawyer since that’s all we have left to possibly give them to confirm the divorce.
10/9/2018- Additional divorce documents & passport sent through DHL
10/11/2018- Embassy received docs/passport.
11/5/2018- my case had updated about 4-5 times in between these dates. 2 of the updates due to emails I sent the embassy and them responding. The date of the 5th is the last time the embassy ever updated my case up until I reached out to my congressman a month later.
12/5/2018- reached out to my congressman and they made a congressional inquiry.
01/04/2019 (Took a whole month!)- Embassy replies to congressional inquiry stating case documents are under review & due to security situations in Haiti they can’t give an estimated date of completion. Congressman tells me to follow up on or around March 20th. 60 more days! 😩
03/18/2019- Followed up with congressional inquiry
03/20/2019- embassy replies asking for new medical
04/02/2019- new medical received by embassy
04/18/2019- Visa status went from immigrant to non immigrant with new case creation date
04/22/2019- Visa Issued!
It took me 7 months in AP from interview date to finally receive my visa.
I started this visa journey 2 years ago on December 29th, 2017 when I sent my K1 packet in to USCIS. I know we have a long way to go still but I’m so happy we’ve finally concluded this part of my journey. Thank you lord! 👏🏿🙏🏿🤗
To God be the glory I have waited to see this for a long time for you and I am beyond happy you and your family have remained in my thoughts and prayers . Thank you also for helping us all even when you were stressed and going through your own things may God continue to Bless you and Congratulations 🎉🎈🎊

Thank you. My problem is with the NVC saying they are holding all cases till Haiti is ready to received them. I will feel better if it was sitting in Haiti instead. But i am going to keep calling till i get an answer. We already did everything but the medical.
All I know is that there was a lot of people immigrant and non immigrant k1 that were at the consulate when my husband went the first time on February 28th they had the whole file and gave an interview date of March 21 but he went on March 4th again and got interviewed and came home March 9th the only way anyone can get a real answer is to go to the consulate and see what they can do for you there is nothing to loose and everything to gain the worse case you go home but I do understand some people live far from the consulate and it’s not as easy but if your not to far go very early in the morning and wait and see someone and find out for sure what’s going on at least you will know if we would have listened to the people on the phone line we would still be waiting to reschedule our interview but I continue to pray for all

wow that's a long time. Sadly all you can do is keep checking daily . I'm sure everything is backlog due to the shutdown protest months ago.
The embassy has been back logged for months now since last summer even prior to the protests and our appt being canceled we waited three months for the interview then it was canceled then finally my husband went but all I can say is be patient but for anyone canceled go and as far as the medical just go to the doctor and they can call the consulate and verify your case is there but I really don’t know how it works for CR 1 but I would just go and get information about getting an interview even if you can’t that day the embassy will give you a date or at least give you some information don’t get stressed don’t keep calling thoes numbers they are not the consulate just go there and tell the security your situation and they will let you in and speak to someone and they will give you a date if possible I wish the best for everybody

Did anyone submit EAD I-765 form with I-485 form? K1 visa holders don't have to apply for Employment authorization document (EAD)? Will we have to fill both forms?
We are filling out for the employment authorization and advanced parole with the 485 congratulations 🎈🎊🍾 by the way and you only have to if you want to work prior to receiving the green card

I need help. The NVC has had the Fiance application since 02/08/19. They have not sent it to the consulate yet because of the situation in Haiti. Status still says at NVC. Should I have my fiance fill out a DS 160 or should he wait until we get a letter from the consulate that they received our package?
Yes fill it out and get your police certificate and everything done while you wait because at least you can start to check on appointments and then just do your medical once you have an appointment also if you have trouble later with appointments the beneficiary can go to the consulate and get an appointment they will not tell you that on the phone but everything is at the discretion of the consulate. We never received packet three and we got everything done and my fiancé has been home over a week blessings for you and your fiancé

Hello everyone, it's been a week now the status finally said visa issued yesterday , but I still can't track my passport. I called the embassy they didn't really help. Will they email me when it is ready for pickup? Help please 🙏🏽
Go to travel docs Haiti and then click track passport and then put in the number once issued it can take a couple days for DHL to pick it up just keep checking it will come ours happened on a Friday that’s awesome you are almost done the status will say it was received from the consulate and being brought delivery location something like that once ours said that my fiancé went to DHL the next day and it was not ready in the morning but they told him to come back and around 1 pm it was ready it seems they pick up after noon and process the next day I would check this afternoon best of luck and prayers

Haiti K1 Visa Applicants
in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion

Your fiancé has to have residency in DR to interview there unless he has special permission. Is he living in DR or Haiti now? It takes about six months to get residency in DR but you have to have a sponsor in DR to get it . My husband was living in DR when we filed the K1 and we put DR address on the application but assumed it would go to Haiti automatically since he was a citizen of Haiti but the consulate sent our case to DR and it had to be transferred so make sure the address you put on the application is the one in the country you plan to interview I would also call the Help desk through the number for the consulate and ask them what will happen with k1 cases after December. Hope that helped wish you all blessings on your journey
