Hi! We must have been at the consulate together on Wednesday morning! I'm just packing my suitcase to go home (BC as well), and I received an email with my tracking number - hope yours is also ready! :) I think we'll get them back very soon - fingers crossed!

Hello!! I just got my tracking number via email!!!! :) :) It says the number isn't trackable at the moment so yes hopefully we get them back early next week!! Congrats!

Well some will say there are two times it will say "issued". Meaning it will say "issued' twice during it's time of preparation to be shipped to you.

    1) your Visa will go through "administrative processing" while the consular office is going through the final processes of issuing you the Visa before it changes to "issued" meaning the embassy is done processing the Visa and it is ready to be issued.

    2) then your Visa will head to the logistics department where it will go through "administrative processing" again before it is finally is ready to be shipped wherein it will finally get the final "issued" status.

Sometimes this process is so fast that you would never catch the status changes on CEAC changing from "administrative processing" to "issued" and back to "administrative processing" and then the final "issued" status. Again this is just some calculated guesswork that I have read on here that maybe a wives tale to explain why some visas get to the issued status and then it goes back to administrative processing.

It is a possibility that you are only on the first "issued" status and still need it to be prepped for shipment OR you just reached the final "issued" status on the 20th which was today and that it has been shipped today or been prepared for shipment but not picked up by CP and you'll still need to wait for CP to get it to you.

No way you can tell and no way you're gonna know when it leaves until that magic tracking number starts working.

that makes total sense!! I just hope it is before Wednesday or Canada Post just doesn't go on Strike!! :)

Thank you so much for your help :)

    Yes

Okay!  well it worked but it said

" Unfortunately, the number you entered is not in our tracking system.

You entered a valid number, but we are not able to show the tracking information for one of the following reasons:

    • The item is in transit, but we haven't yet received it from the sender
    • The item is coming from another country and is not in Canada yet. Track it on the postal website of the originating country first.
    • The item was shipped more than a year ago
    • The sender chose a service that doesn't include tracking"

This means that the consulate hasn't sent it off yet... correct? :( I hope they do it soon like tomorrow just in case Canada Post does go on Strike :( I am so anxious!

You can track it on CanadaPost.

    1. Sign into ais.usvisa-info.com (where you registered for the interview).

    2. The page where it lists the date and time of your appointment will also show where you signed up to have it delivered.

    3. Click on the link connected to the delivery section (view map) and it will bring you to a detail page that has your CanadaPost tracking number.

    4. Sign up for notifications with CanadaPost and they'll tell you when it gets delivered and you can go pick it up (presuming you didnt pay extra and had it sent to the post office for pickup).

    5. Sprint to the post office when you get the notification.

My interview was August 1st. I got the notification that it had arrived in Victoria, BC at 11:50am on Aug 3rd. I had it in hand by 12:10pm. So roughly 2 business days.

Thank you!!! i found the IV Account number from the ais.usvisa-info.com website but not the tracking number. Is that the number I need to track on Canada Post website?

  5. Hi everyone,

I had my interview on Sep 19th, Wed and my visa was approved! I just checked the CEAC website and it says "Issued". I live in BC and I am just wondering how long it takes to get my passport back? I know some people said they got it the next day or within 3 days. However I am freaking out because i just noticed Canada Post is going on Strike on Sep 26 ( next wednesday). I am hoping to get my passport back before the strike.. Is there any way we can track the delivery status? or will i have to wait till they send me an email regarding the tracking number?

    Thanks a bunch! :)

  7. Hi everyone! I have one more question to ask you experts! :p. So I was born in South Korea and my family immigrated to Canada in early 2000s (before I was 16) . Now I am a Canadian Citizen(Naturalization) and I have a Canadian Passport. In terms of acquiring a police certificate, Do I need to get one for South Korea and Canada both? (To make things more complicated, I moved to Korea in 2015 to work for just over a year (till 2016)) . so since I lived in South Korea for a year, I would need to get one from there,, correct?  Also, obviously I wasn't born in Canada, even though I've lived in Canada for over 10 years, do I still need to get my birth certificate from South Korea? I can't replace my birth certificate with my Canadian Citizenship certificate? (I ask this because sometimes when I fill out applications and they ask for a birth certificate, since I wasn't born in Canada, my Canadian citizenship certificate was enough)  Has anyone heard of a similar case as mine by any chance!? :( Thanks in advance!!

My fiance is Canadian and he has been allowed to withdraw at the border because he didnt have "sufficient ties to Canada". That being said, we were driving across the border, he was planning on staying for the late summer / early fall, so we had a box of books and his gaming computer and lots of clothes, so I can see in hindsight why CBP thought it looked suspicious!

It honestly could go either way if CBP wants to be a jerk to you, but I would bet that if you have a return ticket and you're only going to be gone for the weekend because you have to be back at work on Monday, you'll be just fine. Just say you're visiting your fiance for the weekend, but have to be back for work on Monday.

Thank you for your help! I was going to bring my winter clothes but maybe I won't, just to be safe!

@esyoue I am Canadian too and cross the border to visit my fiance every month.  I've been asked one time for proof of my return trip home and my flght itinerary and receipt were enough.  I would print off because I tried to pull it up on my phone and the guard said "no phones".  So I would print off any proof you have, i.e. bank statements, letter of employment, or copy of NOA1 etc.

    Thank you for your help!

  10. Hello September filers! This is my first time posting here... My NOA1 was September 28th..and my estimated  NOA2 is early April.. I haven't seen my fiance since November and it has been very hard for us :( We just realized he is deploying next year so I really hope we can get our NOA2 asap!. I do have a question for you guys though.. I am finally going to see him next week - ( I have a Canadian passport) and I am just wondering what kind of documents should I prepare so there aren't any problems at the border? I am only seeing him for the weekend.. I have my bank app on my phone which proves that obviously i have strong ties to my home country(Canada) still and I am going back to work the next day when im back. Would the flight itinerary be enough? Please help! :)
