My fiance and daughter never had any vaccinations, so they started getting them about 8 months ago at a local Pasteur clinic.  They received about 10 during during that time at a cost of about 12 million VND total for both of them.  Cho Ray required the meningitis vaccine, which was not available to them locally and it was much more expensive at Quarantine Services.  They are also required to return the day before the interview to receive a flu shot.

It may be different for your parents visa, but I read that the vaccinations were not a requirement for the K-1 visa.  They just needed to be completed as part of the AOS process.  My fiance and her daughter were not given an option, though.  They were required to get the meningitis vaccine and she was told to bring proof of their flu vaccinations to the interview.  Maybe it is different for other countries, but if Vietnam does require the full list of vaccines before issuing the visa, it might be less painful to start them now.  I wouldn't think you can physically get all those vaccines at one time.

Woaaa that’s crazy high for the vaccine, almost $600. Thank you so much for all the information.

yeah they received your case 3 weeks after mine and our cc is basically same. BUT my embassy has paper rights away where they have to ship your papers to the embassy and that takes longer or can get lost etc.

Yeah that’s why I said pivot cases will be better later when the system is completed.  Right now reg case beneficiary still have to bring all papers with them as recommended whether the paper is delivered safely to embassy or get lost on the way there :(

:( They just received my case on April 12. Wish me luck and pray I don't go psycho while waiting for case number

I heard you. I went crazy even with 5 weeks wait.

So I know pivot cases get quicker case complete, but for the entire process from Received at NVC to Interview, are pivot cases faster?

I just want to know if this waiting 10 weeks for a case number is going to kill me mentally or not. (It probably will regardless)

At this moment. I would say sorry to those who are pivot case. NVC received my case on Feb 15th (regular case), and I already get CC. While some pivot case still waiting for case number since Feb 1st.

However, when their system is completed, pivot case will have a big advantage over others.

We have about 2 week for medical and I fly back to VN to attend the interview with my spouse. Thank God it all worth the money and we got approved.

How long does it take to get medical results? Do you mind if I ask?

That’s crazy long. Are there any problem with your case or just because they Are busy?

Oh, I will definitely keep looking.  Problem is that I have logged in too many times in the last 24 hours to check and I am now locked out until tomorrow!  Is there any time of day I should look, or do slots just pop up at random times?

    Hi there,

I’m waiting for my interview date as well (for my parents), but NVC will schedule the interview for us, and they said they don’t know the exact time frame for the available interview.

so I just wanna ask if you are able to schedule your interview yet? And how far can you look for the availability on the interview schedule?

    thank you.
