  1. Hello! :)

How do I answer question 38 in the I-134 (Affidavit of Support) form?

I find it very strange, since there must be information about some "specific contributions".

What are they? Or is it better to just answer "I do not intend.."?

Obviously, there will be financial support but this form is a bit confusing.

that link is generic link for what's needed and can be gathered. India embassy page does not have specifics on what's needed.

This is very confusing, I heard it's not even for K1, yet it's what I see when I check my status.

And I can't take any of these steps before I have my Invoice ID Number which I don't have (trying to call and no mail received).

    Case # ready - August 28

  3. Hello, guys.
Could you help me with some info?
Me and my fiance received our case number through calling NVC (Augut 28).
We changed the US embassy from Moscow (long waiting for the appointment) to Kiev, asking them to send the documents there.
They asked us to put a different address (we did, but I can't be in Kiev at the time they might call or send the papers).

Who will receive the package from NVC with the instructions - my fiance or me?
What and when does go to the embassy?
How soon can I make my appointment for the interview? Do I choose the date or does the embassy?

We're a bit confused about when we can follow the 6 steps showed here:

The problem is that we want our appointment in December since we want to be there together, prepare and move together as well.

Thank you, may be my questions are stupid, yet I can't find the precise info around this forum. 😅

    Hello
    What does this mean?

We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time

"We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on July 31, 2018. "

Reply received by e-mail on request
Is there still something to ask and clarify by phone?

ps  sometimes it seems to me that people in these state organizations are either mocking people or are stupidly unwilling (lazy) to work

Check your case status here: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ if you're not registered there, do it.

In my case this message meant NOA2, as soon as I received the e-mail, I checked and then called my fiance to look for the hard copy which came a few days later.

It also seems that these people want us to really prove we want to do what we're going to do by creating these mysteries :star:

Hi there! Did you contact Kiev embassy before calling the NVC? Did NVC agree to transfer?..

Sorry I have so many questions. I got so excited lol. I can’t believe we can be done with all of it in September and not in November/December as I thought before.

We are gonna call NVC today since we were approved 15/08. I just need to know what to tell them about the transfer. I’m sooo hoping it’s gonna work🙏🏻

I did contact them before and after calling NVC.))

    NVC agreed to transfer.

Don't worry, you can write to the embassy, they answer fast.

But I'm not the first one who's changing the embassy to take the interview this way, even if you're going to Kyev for the 1st time, you'll be fine.

    Good luck! :::)

To make sure, e-mail KyivIV@state.gov, here's the message:

    ...

    Thank you for your inquiry.

Please be advised that if this case is currently still at the NVC, you need to contact NVC with request to re-assign this case to Kyiv instead of Moscow.

    Sincerely,

    Public Liaison Unit

    Consular Section

    U.S. Embassy

    Kyiv, Ukraine

Please visit the Embassy web-site at https://ua.usembassy.gov/ for additional information about Consular services.

Hello, i have the same problem with Moscow embassy. You called to NVC when your status change to NVC? I just got NOA 2 and i wonder to know what time i should ask them transfer.

Hi! They can transfer as soon as the case arrives to the NVC, I guess. When I called, they explained how to change the destination on their website (filling the form).

I waited for 2 weeks since NOA2 to call + I knew that the next batch of documents would go around September 3/4. So, basically, I had a few days to prevent them from sending my papers to Moscow.

By the way, how do I check if they changed it?

  7. Should we send the original signed RFE paper with our response? Or a high quality copy will work?

We received an RFE in July (hard copy in June), but the problem is that my fiance isn't in the US (and won't be until the middle of September when it'll be too late to respond). We tried to call to USCIS but can't go through yet (2-3 hours of waiting), so we'll call again. But I'm anxious to know as soon as possible, the time's short.

    Thank you for any reply.

  8. The letter was found in the mail yesterday, it just takes time for some reason, so hold on.

I was worried about the deadline to submit the respond to the RFE but it's until Sep 24 (60 days).

The only reason for the RFE was that there wasn't a paper from the judge about my divorce when I was a teenager (we were married underage in Ireland) but there can't be such paper because the marriage was nulled.

So, there was no actual divorce. But my family sent the papers over 10 years ago about that marriage to USCIS while I'd been waiting for my family visa for the reunion with my sister in the US (it takes decares).

So crazy, I just wish I don't have to go to Ireland for the paper.

Sigh. I just want to say that Iiterally feel like I’m

dying waiting for approval. It’s killing me and I try to stay positive, but I’m a pregnant miserable mess and I can’t even travel to see him because of the risk of Zika while preggo 😭😭😭 I’m praying something gives and fast, and trying to find strength when I feel all out. Meanwhile wallowing this “secret” pregnancy because we want to wait til he is here to make the announcement 😩

Wow, hold on there. Many hugs and support. __ You're standing on the edge of the whole new world)) Beautiful.

  10. I'm a Russian citizen in Russia, we filed for the interview to be in Ukraine because of all the mess in the US-Russia relationship. That situation led to a longer period of waiting for the appointment and, probably, a longer process.

They keep on closing the US consulates (2 days ago the one in St Petersburg got fully closed)  here and interfere in their work.

He means that the person working on your case will maybe see your 17 year struggle as a desperate attempt to come to the states and assume your relationship is not real and just a means to come to the states.

On this note. I want to apologise to you @Ariane1. The way you worded things makes me question your intentions but it is not my place to judge. Like I said we are here to support each other and that means I should support you in your journey too. I'm afraid I was having a grumpy day and I have seen so many trolls here it got me a bit jaded. Again. I apologise.

I hope you are in it for the genuine reasons and I hope your case won't be delayed by just the mere look of things. Just be prepared to have a lot of supporting evidence of your relationship. The way you worded things here on this forum raised a lot of concern with me and I feel USCIS might thing the same way.

    Thank you so much, Little_Vixen.

That's my other problem: I often word things wrong and have so many problems in my life because of that. I have Asperger's and it's even harder for me to understand and word stuff especially online (in terms of how to politely/correctly word stuff, see sarcasm and jokes etc).

So I'm always thankful if someone points that out. Because I don't see what I word that way and keep learning to communicate.

That's why my fiance will be with me throughout the process and at the interview as well. We've tons of evidence and serious intentions.

I'm indeed worried about the entire 17-year process and that they might find suspicious he is 17 years older than me (funny and weird coincidence)... It's like life put on a pause.

Look I'm sad for you and I started reading it that way too. However overall it sounded like your relationship was just a step or a plus as you'd say on the way to US.

and I understand that you missed your family. But the way your whole thing started made me think you are applying a family visa. Literally till the very end I was about to say you are in the wrong forum.

so excuse me if your story and lonely wait sounds more like a wait for green card (or your family) but it does not associate with most of the people here waiting for a fiancé visa.

I wanted to write this story and find understanding here, the feeling is the same.

I wanted to show the irony of life, to laugh and cry a little, may be.

I thought may be someone is in the same situation, and may be there will be  problem in getting K1 visa if I'd applied before.

I don't see reasons to be harsh on me or blame me for anything.

then probably don't start with the 17+ years part and with a line that starts as of disregarding everyone else.

I'm sorry you were apart from your family, I live apart from mine too, however those were apparent choices made along the way.

Wow, I don't see it as disregarding at all. Wow, I'm surprised...

I meant and expected entirely different mood and reactions.
