  1. Hi. The things you mentioned above are good strong evidence from my opinion. I went through this process 2 years ago with my husband. The thing with the pictures, it really depends on the officer that will handle your case. When I submitted my I-129f process for my husband, after around 7-8 months of waiting I received a letter from USCIS requesting for photographic evidence even though I submitted my husband's I-129f application with several pictures already. So anything to make your visa application stronger, the better. Just include everything you can think of in there. Hotel, restaurant receipts, etc. Visajourney is a good place for everything you need to go through this process. Good luck with your journey. Take care

  2. Hello guys,

just want to put my two cents on the adjustment of status interview my husband and I had this morning.

Our interview schedule time is 9:15am at San Jose Field Office and we arrived at the location 30 minutes before our interview. After my husband had his biometrics at one of the windows, we were instructed to take a seat and wait for our number to be called. After a few minutes of waiting that felt like hours, our number is called and the nice officer greeted us and took our I-797 Notice of Action along with the attached number given to us at the reception. Mind you, my husband and I were a bit nervous because at the waiting area there are a lot of couples that brought along their attorneys and after some time they leave the room looking flabbergasted.
So as the nice officer led us to her office, we were both sworn in and Here comes the questions.
First, she asked my husband how we met, she asked him to elaborate on the dates

Second, she asked about our living conditions

Third, she clarified whatever we inputed on the form we submitted on filing for I-485.  Once in a while, I will ask permission to step in the conversation whenever I feel my husband is trying to explain a certain situation especially when he came here in the US.
Then she ask when did my husband started working and asks about our pictures together. We gave her a bunch of pictures along with a little narrative on where and who were in the picture with us.
After that, our interview was approved on the spot! We wanted to scream and all but managed to contain ourselves. A little tip, the officer did not ask for any other documents but I took it upon myself to give it to her for her record like our lease agreement, joint bank account and my recent paystubs and the most current w2 forms etc. anything that will solidify your relationship. I gave it to her since on the original submission of I-485, we did not have those yet. So all in we both thank the officer who interviewed us and headed home. The interview only lasted a little over 12 minutes. After that I checked on uscis website that my husband's green card is being produced and will come in the mail in as little as 30 days.
So for everyone still waiting for their interview, relax and be calm and bring all necessary documents. I know every interview varies but I just want to share our experience and hope that somehow this will help others who are going and went through the same thing we did. This website visajourney truly helps a lot. It sure helped me and my husband with our journey. More power
    thanks

You can find the AOS questions on Visa Journey here:

My wife and I had her Green Card interview yesterday here in Las Vegas.  You can see what our experience was by looking in the Thailand Forum:

Thank you so much for the input. I read it and learned a lot and really lessen my stress on what to do in the interview. So glad visajourney is here to help with this

  4. Thank you so much for the quick replies. At least it shed a light in our current situation. See, out of boredom he applied at a job recently and got an offer. When he showed the company his SSN card, they accepted it and still wanted him to work. That's why I got curious if he can take it because its tempting especially our current situation now, added income would definitely help.
but like you said, we will just wait for his EAD card and pray it will arrive soon.
Thanks all again for the replies much appreciated

  5. Hello, my husband arrived here in the US last June 2019 under K1 visa. We got married the same month and filed and submitted his AOS and EAD on July 2019. We got his SSN the same month of filing AOS. Under his SSN card it says "valid for work only under DHS authorization".
my question is, can he work while waiting for his AOS case?I viewed the USCIS website and have updated every time.
thank you any input will help.

Hello guys, fo those single to attend cfo seminar in manila. Do we have to provide original copy of cenomar?

You can show them the original copy of the cenomar. My fiance took his cfo seminar in Manila too last June 14,2019

I just spoke with our attorney and he said the same thing -- must be a slow consular officer compared to the one handling May 28, 29, 30, etc. I really think we have no choice but to wait it out.

Hello, I just happen to read the thread here. My fiancé was interviewed last May 23 too and his visa was issued on May 29. He already has his visa and his flight will be on June 18. Just want to know if your fiance already has CFO certificate? Or already did the seminar? If yes, then disregard this. But if not yet, you can schedule to have you fiance's seminar since the scheduling can be 2-3 weeks apart. The GCP seminar does not require a visa to be available on hand plus it is a requirement for your fiance to have the CFO sticker on their passport to be able to get out of the country. I mentioned this because that is one of our minor mistake that we did. If we had scheduled for the seminar as soon as May after his interview then my fiance would have arrived here in the US sooner but he has to take the June 14 seminar since the schedule appointment can fill up pretty quickly. His seminar will be in Manila. Anyways, just a suggestion if you are still waiting for your visa to be issued. Best of luck and have more patience. 🙏🏼☺️

  8. Yay!!! I'm so psyched! I know there is way more tough patches of road ahead but knowing me and my fiancé's distance is getting shorter really gets my heart pumping. Thank you so much Hank for the kind reply.  Truly it helps. God bless always 😁

  9. Hello everyone, just want to share a little update to anyone else on the agonizing wait times for their K1 visa issuance.

My fiancé was interviewed in the US Embassy in Manila last May 23,2019 and soon after checking on CEAC the status was under AP. Now May 29, the status changed to Issued! Yay! Now another wait begins on how long it will take for 2go courier to contact my fiancé so he can pick up the visa packet at SM Manila. Will keep updating to anyone else having the same journey as we are.

Also, we already scheduled for his Cfo seminar on June 14. We hope he gets the visa packet first so he can bring his passport to the seminar for the CFO sticker 😁

  10. Wow! Very happy for you! Hope its the same with us. My fiance was interviewed last May 23 and now our case in CEAC read "administrative processing". Its only been a few days but the wait is agonizing lol. I read some threads here that even if they were on AP and approved at the interview, they still get a denial. Anyway, congrats! Pretty soon the distance between you and your significant other will be short 😁

You have to choose from the dropdown AMERICAN (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA). We have the same case, my petitioner also had dual citizenship, both Philippines and US, but I still attended the seminar, got my certificate and left without any hassle at the airport.

    Thank you so much Vinn:)

  12. Hello, I do not know if this has been answered here in this forum before, but my fiancé had his interview last May 23 for K1 visa. It went smoothly I guess, the Officer who interviewed him only handed him the pamphlet on domestic violence and a slip on where to register his delivery address for the visa packet after the interview.  I read here that if it is in non-immigrant at CEAC with status "administrative processing" then it is a good sign. Moreover, I also read that you can schedule a CFO appointment prior to getting your visa issued. I looked at the link Hank has on his comments and was directed to the 2 questions it needed to continue with the schedule as shown on the picture below.

I am a dual citizen both US and Filipino and also the petitioner. Please help for any input on what to shade on this 2 questions. Also when it asked what is the fiancee citizenship, I do not see the US. I hold a US passport. Thank you so much for anyone who reply.

God bless all on this journey.

  13. Hello, thank you so much for the reply. I haven’t met him in person yet. We met online last Oct via fb. Then we both found out after looking at each other’s profiles that we were batchmates both in high school and college. (The feel of destiny 😂). So now Im planning to come visit him this June and I intend to stay there until I can petition him. I have the notion that I need to come back here to proceed with the visa though, or can I just go to a us embassy there in the philippines and do the filing there?

Again, thank you so much for the replies. Super appreciated guys if you only know. Take care everyone♥️

  14. Hello, Im fairly new here and I apologize if this question has been answered already. I have a question regarding petitioning my boyfriend for the K1 visa. Im a usc and planning to visit him soon in the Philippines. My question is, can I petition him now for the K1, then stay with him in the Phil until the visa gets approved for the next step? Then if luckily the visa is approved for the next step, can we both come back to the usa together coming from the philippines? Thank you so much in advance. Take care everyone😊

  15. Hello littleimmigrant. I don’t know but somehow i couldn’t get back to that topic. What is ROC? Im so sorry such a neophyte. So I need to inform Uscis bout the divorce (oh i just read thats not for me to worry about) do i just inform uscis that im withdrawing my affidavit of support?

Oh thats good i can visit him in his country and stay there while his k1 visa is processing. Thank you so much you’ve been a great help. Take care littleimmigrant :)

  16. Hello, new user here so not sure if im in the right forum. I got divorced long story short it was a nasty break up, but i also petitioned my now ex husband three years ago and his case i believe is still pending but not sure because i no longer have any contact with him. The only person that got me through was my bf from a foreign country. Now i want to petition him so we can marry here in the US. Dont get me wrong i met my bf after i filed for the divorce. 4 questions:

    1.  Is the divorce decree in California with just the fl-825 endorsed and stamped with a judicial officer valid?

    2. Or do i need to go to the courthouse to have it certified and signed by a judge?I received it last month with the stamped of date stating that i am now a single person.

    3. Should i inform uscis of the divorce, or the divorce itself withdrew my petition?

    4.  Can i petition my bf under k1 visa and go to his country to stay there with him?

thank you so much in advance :)
