Hi,
I filed an I-130 for my step daughter and my priority date is May 6, 2020. I’m assuming the NOA2 is getting close, but I not for sure what service center is doing my I-130. Any ideas?

Anyone get asked about if they've ever used any government aid?

I'm aware of the stokes interview, but I wasn't for sure if it was something new policy that was implemented recently.

Has anyone seen or experienced a possible new interview policy pertaining to the AOS interview.
I read about an experience from someone on a facebook AOS group that he and his wife were separated for the AOS interview for a little bit and asked a series of questions. They got approved. They were told it's a new policy.
Any truth to this?

Hi,
My wife and I have just gotten the I-797 for my wife's AOS. Since we just started the AOS process when is a good time file a I-130 for my wife's daughter; my stepdaughter. She's under the age of 18.

Oh, we were under the impression we needed as much evidence as we needed right now. We'll get it done this week then and send it in.
Should we send in any of our evidence besides our marriage certificate?

Hi,
My wife came here two months ago. In that time we've gotten married, she just got her social security card, we got an apartment under both of our names, she's on my health/ dental insurance plan from work and later today I'm putting her on my bank accounts.
I'm trying to get as much evidence in place for our AOS. The K1's 90 days is up in a month. Do we have to file for AOS by then or can we file in later this summer?

Thank you too!

My fiance is going to bring her birth control with her from Thailand. In Thailand women don't need a prescription to buy birth control. She wants to bring a years supply with her since it's so cheap in Thailand.
Should she bring a couple of months supply with her? I don't think she needs to bring a years supply with her at all. Will she get into trouble if she brings her unopened birth control supply in America with her.

Just make sure passport and visa is in hand and everything is correct before buying anything.
I've already told her I'm not buying the flight until you have your Visa in your hands.

My fiancé just did the ds-160 and you couldn’t put anything except her name in Thai.
Did you file or mean the GSS?
I'm not for sure. I only looked at the DS-160.

I don't think it matters where you live , the Thai post delivered our packet 3 to the embassy quickly within one day from Phichit, so coming and going from Samut Prakan which is closer to the embassy should be just as quick. 16th will be cutting it close. Plus she will be jet lagged which takes 2-3 days to adjust. Also if she doesn't have all the required paperwork everything could be delayed by 30 days. I'd get my money back for the concert and catch the next one.
Chok Dee
If she's not here by the 14th. A buddy of mine is wanting to go. So no loss there. It just would be a big letdown.

What language were the addresses you gave? Can you give it in Thai? Can you include a phone number?
I need to know.
Yes, she showed me her DS-160. She put her address in thai and it asked for her cell number.

The CO told my girl one week, but it took 9 days, this was in January.
My fiance lives in Samut Prakan. Does it matter where she lives? We want to spend Valentine's Day together and go to a concert in Minneapolis on the 16th.

Thank you and Good Luck to you too!!!

Then the best option is for you to file an I-130 petition for the child right after you marry in the US in order to start the IR-2 process.
Yes, this is our plan.
My concern is "If she doesn't have the Parental Consent at her Interview on 7 February; could it cause us some issues?"
-
My Fiance is having her interview in Bangkok of 7 February. She has a 8 year old daughter that is included in the I-129f and the Ds-160 as follow to join later. My Fiance and I have talked about it when and how her daughter will come to the States after we're married. My Fiance doesn't have the Parental Consent form filled out and signed off yet. Her daughters Bio-Dad has never spent or talked to her in her 8 years. And he's not on the Birth Certificate either. Our plan is for her daughter to come to the States 1 year after my Fiance and I get married. Obviously the K2 Follow to Join would be null and voided by then.
How important is it for my Fiance to get her daughter's Bio-Dad to sign the Parental Consent to move to the States? Will it hurt my Fiance's K1 Visa approval if she doesn't have it?

Hi Danny, i see you got you interview. Did you email them or how did they notify you about date?
They emailed my Fiance and told her the appointment date for the interview.

It seems like just as long as your relationship is true and you have ample evidence of you and your Thai fiances relationship. You will be approved.

When asking immigrant visa specific question you need to email VISABKKIV@STATE.GOV
In the subject line write " IV inquiry ( your embassy case number)"
Then in the main text ask whatever it is you need.
Chok dee
Thank you.

Our situation too about 5 working days. Our P3 was delivered on a Friday, I emailed them Thursday the week after to ask what was going on and the next day we got an email with the interview date.
Sadly our interview date was 4 weeks out. I wonder if it had anything to do with the cover page for P3 where they want to know your date of travel, I put down January since I was figuring she would have her interview within a week and wait two weeks for the passport to get back. I wonder if I had put December if I would have gotten a faster interview date.
What was the email you used?

They're not definite plans and we are planning accordingly. We're just ready to close the distance finally.
Tracking Case from NVC to Bangkok Embassy
in Thailand

My Step-Daughter’s IR2 Petition got approved at the NVC earlier this morning.
Does the Embassy automatically schedule the interviews for IR2’s?
How long is it taking Petitions to get to the Embassy now?
