They wont update ead/ap at all for biometrics.
You will eventually see your aos update to "ready to schedule interview"
But thats as far as it will go for months than eventually your ead /ap will get approved but you'll wait on an interview date for aos and so on..
So basically dont wait for any updates anytime soon
Erm, yes they do. EAD at least, not AP. Mine was updated upon completion of biometrics, as was my I485. However, NOT EVERYONE'S will be updated, due to how finicky the system seems to be.

I received my Interview letter today!!
Just a quick synopsis of my Timeline
My case was received Jan 23rd, 2018
Biometrics Appt. Feb 22nd (Philadelphia)
Case last updated online- March 26th (although when I clicked on my case it only states that my case was received Jan 23rd. No other information or updates)
April 18th- Interview letter sent by USCIS
April 23th- Interview letter received by me
Interview date- May 24th (Philadelphia)
Hope this helps.
Also, if anyone has gone through, or is about to go through the interview, please post your interview experience for us so we can all be better prepared.
GOOD LUCK!
Did you get an email update from USCIS stating they'd sent you an interview letter? I'm at 'ready to be scheduled' on my tracker, so want to know what to expect next!

Had to cancel adjustment of status interview because of really bad weather in March. Anyone have any experience with not making the first adj of statues interview? How long wait till USCIS reschedule? We were supposed to go to Pittsburgh USCIS. I have heard nothing from USCIS yet.
Nobody in here will know or will have experienced that. We only filed in March. When did you actually file? It can take months to reschedule though from previous posts I've seen.

New week, good luck to all! Fingers crossed for some good news this week for all of us.

You're physically present in the USA, therefore you can't work (online or at a physical location) until you have your EAD or GC authorising you to legally work. It doesn't matter where the clients are based either (UK, China, etc), what matters is where you're PHYSICALLY present whilst conducting the work.

It might not be a long wait for K1 holders. I have seen filers from January thread who already got interviews scheduled for April and May. Do you guys know if the original status of AOS applicants counts? Theoretically, it makes more sense that adjusting from K1 should be easier and faster compared to other visas. Any thoughts?
But this thread isn't for K1 adjustment. So therefore, we are probably in for a long wait especially as most of us seem to be coming towards the 'ready to be scheduled for interview' stage!

This thread has been too quiet for the past days. I hope everyone is having fun waiting. Lol
There's probably not going to be updates for a long while now, the initial speedy phase of case acceptances, biometrics, RFE's has passed for most of us. Now it's the long waiting game.

Thanks! Honestly, the updates have been so intermittent - its hard to get your hopes up. The online USCIS case status site never even updated after I responded to the RFP, but i signed up for an account on the DHS site which said they had received my reply, so it's a bit all over the place! It never changed to ready for interview! I'll update once I get my notice - fingers crossed its in the mail as we speak!
Yeah, I've noticed! I have an account on both government tracking websites, and they're not in line with each other, and one has updates over the other, and vice versa! Pretty confusing, and odd! Also, my EAD application jumped back in time to 'received your case' from 'biometrics review complete' once I got the ready to be scheduled update, which has confused me even further! Please, do let us know what it says!

Thanks - "On april 19, we scheduled an interview for your I-485". and says an interview notice has been mailed. I should have mentioned that I am pretty familiar with the process, as I was an immigration paralegal years ago, before I met my husband!
Awesome, great news! I'm glad you're familiar with the process It's just I've seen people get left upset when they've had to wait months when they get 'ready for interview', which of course is an entire different kettle of fish! Did yours go from 'ready for interview' to this yesterday? If so, how long did you wait for them to mail your interview date?

Hi all - haven't posted too much here, but was so excited yesterday to get an email that our interview is being scheduled!! We're hoping to get the date in the mail in the next few days. Our priority date was January 26, so definitely a lot quicker than expected! We received a RFIE for the I-864 on February 22 and our response was received March 6. We will be interviewing at the Philadelphia office.
The timing works well because my husband's H-1B expires at the end of August, so hopefully we will not even need to worry about the EAD if we get approved at the interview
Best of luck to everyone!
'Ready to be scheduled for interview' or 'Interview date mailed'? There is a huge difference between the two. The first one means they may have sent you an interview date, or you might be waiting a long time depending on your local office processing times.

Wow that's quite the range. My EAD case status has never changed from 'we have received your case', even after my biometrics and TWO pending expedites (one senator, one on my own). I have a few notes about 'expedite request given to officer' in the case history but that's all.
Yeah, very big range! Hoping to be down the shorter end of the time range given!
Yeah everything has disappeared on my EAD, and gone back to the original we have received your case message, as if I've only just sent it in!

Congrats! Hopefully your Field Office is a little quicker than mine... Mine's expected processing time is currently "12 to 19.5 months"
Mine is 8.5 months to 23.5 months!
Also, did your EAD case go back in time to when the case was received? Mine changed from biometrics reviewed and we are continuing to process your case back to we have received your case!
-
Also, my EAD case has gone back to 'we received your case' with a March date from 'we are processing your biometrics' with an April date, anyone know why this may be?

I got the email last night around 6PM. I’m using this site (I didn’t know the other one existed until reading your post yesterday):https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do
Sounds like yours should be coming any day now.
Seems you were right, I got my email just 5 minutes ago!
Now the real wait begins....

Just received an email update that they are ready to schedule my I-485 interview and will be mailing me a form with the date. My priority date is March 7th.
Isn't that unusually quick??
When did you get the email and for which tracking site? I want to know where to keep an eye out! Hopefully, that's my next step soon.

UPDATE: Received an email today and my status in the app changed: Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice.
I am glad I did not get any RFE or RFIEs. Good luck everyone.
Awesome! Good luck, hope your interview is soon! When did you get the email, and for which case tracker site?

Ohhhhhh. Ok. Well that makes more sense. So it could sit in this status for another year?
In theory yes, but it's good your case is ready for interview.

I have the same issue. I already submitted affidavit of support with my application and his previous year tax return. It says in the interview letter to bring affidavit of support if not submitted which I already did submit. I’m gonna get his tax returns with me ( most recent one we filed seperatly) but I won’t show it unless asked for it .
Yeah that's usually the recommendation. Take the most recent (especially if when you filed, the previous year was the most recent), and if asked, give it.

I already submitted my husband’s 2014-2016 tax returns with the i-864 in the application but it’s a good idea to bring the 2017 just in case. I make more than my husband anyway so it really shouldn’t matter.
Yes, it does matter. He's your sponsor, they will want to see he makes enough.

They did all of my fingerprints at my biometrics, not just my right hand!

Winderful! I did the biometric a week ago. No updates on both case trackers. Waiting for my EAD now, and I hope I get it before 7/16 because I have an offer letter and I start employment on that day.
Good luck, hope the EAD comes by then. It hopefully, going by current processing times!
I saw my local field office family based green cards can be as quick as 6 months, so here's keeping my fingers crossed.

That's not a delay. That's within normal processing times.
