my approval mail came after 4 days from the green card received date. Online status also changed after 4 days... but who cares of approval mail or online status because I already got my card

Do they have a good reason as to why they sent an envelope without any evidence?

Were they within the last couple of days before GC expiration and they had no time to gather evidence?

You have plenty of documents, make sure that the important ones like the tax returns, bank statements, salary certs. property & business ownership and any joint financial documents are arranged at the top of the list. The dog stuff can go to the bottom of the list.

You are yet to file for ROC in 2011, make sure you also collect the latest 2010 tax returns copies or Transcripts and financial documents etc at the time of filing.

Since your 90-day time window starts approximately 04/11/2011, file approximately about 1-week after 04/11/2011.

No it's not a problem... You have quite a bit already. I was just giving you ideas of what you could gather. Not everyone has the same set of documents. Think of anything joint and try to submit those.

Yes, I received my approval letter by mail, then 3 days later I received my new card by mail, too.

Great, we have received the GC only not the approval letter in the USPS mail.

Both of you folks should try to speak to IO when you call the Service center. If you tell them it is byond 90 days they will let you speak to the IO.

Your medical / life insurance showing spouse as beneficiary?

Any tax return checks from IRS or any other government checks in both your names?

Your retirement accounts showing spouse as beneficiary?

Did you receive your approval letter too in the mail?

When I sent in my I-751 package to remove conditions, I think I forgot to put a copy of my passport in it.

Should I send one right away, or wait for an RFE? I was thinking don't send it cause it might make more problems then waiting for an RFE if they want one?

Passport copy is not required and does not carry any weightage in the required set of documents. Important documents in this process are those that prove your relationship and life together as a married couple.

We did not include and were not asked for it. We have been approved recently.

I got an email on Sept 30, 10 that says my 10 yrs green card has been approved/ordered. I'm very happy this process went pretty quick and we got approved without interview. Good paperwork and proofs really paid off. I mailed over 2 pounds of documents. I sent in application on Jul 19, 10, had bio done on Aug 26, 10 and it was approved on Sept 30, 10. Thanks God. Let me tell you, it's beginning to feel pretty lonely in the CSC column.

Just hang in there, finally CSC has caught up with VSC in terms of percentage approvals.

If it is that damaged, I'd have sil pay for it. Other than that, it's stil a GC, though a bit bent.

For work - Driver License and SSN are sufficient (employer CAN NOT decide which document employee provides as proof of being work authorized). I use DL and SSN at all times.

For naturalization - it's 90 days before the 3 year permanent residency anniversary that he can send in his N-400 - don't know when you visit India every year, but you could time the visit so you go when he gets his US citizenship.

If you plan to go ona yearly basis, I think you'll need a replacement card. Here's why:

a. Let's say you file for you citizenship, you'll need to wait for the approval which will be about 4 to 6 months depending upon the backlog etc and the local ASC that you are affiliated to.

b. Once you take the oath you'll need to get your US passport. (another 2 to 4 weeks)

c. Once you get your US Passport you'll need to get a visa to go to India. (another 2 weeks)

Add all of these to the time line for your travel plans.

Assuming that you are on top of all of these items and the paperwork and everything works for you without any hassles then you need about 6 to 8 months to be travel ready from the date you apply for N-400.

Also what would you do If you have to goto India in case of an emergency?

My advice would be to apply for a replacement GC. However does anyone know the timeline associated with I-90? If this itself is going to take a year ...

Based upon the wording I think the same too, they are asking for the original letter.

Besides whatever documents that you are sending I think you send out the printouts and not copies of the printouts.

When I was applying for a reentry permit in 2008, at the biometrics the guy took my picture without using a flash. My photo ended up only showing a dark face with a shiny tooth. Looked a lot like a pirate.

Is yours blurry?

It's not blurry, but it's very dark.

Received the 10 year Green card and the photo on it is in B&W instead of being in color. The conditional resident card is in color. Has anyone else received such a green card? Could you please let me know. Has the USCIS started sending them in B&W recently??

Instructions: If more than 30 days have elapsed since your NOA1 date and you have not received your biometrics appointment letter, you can call the NCSC (their number is on your NOA1) and put in service request to the service center which you filed (CSC or VSC) to find out the status of the biometrics appointment letter. Make sure to verify the home address and mailing address (if any) with them on the phone. You can also request to speak to an immigration officer (you may have to ask at least twice to be transferred) to get your CR I-89 receipt number, (it is the receipt number of the biometrics letter) so that you can track your case online.

1. 9/14 Card production ordered.

2. 9/15 Card production ordered.

3. 9/16 Approval notice mailed.

What I got in the mail was:

1. 9/18 Approval notice.

2. 9/20 Green card.

Everything was sent and received within 7 days.
