The email you should be expecting is the interview letter (P4) that also contains links to the document and interview process. After that, nothing else until interview time.

You can check how your case is been transferred to the Consulate through CAEC website. It goes from "AT NVC" to "In Transit" then to "Ready"

    Goodluck :)

Thanks. It's already in "Ready" but no email from the embassy yet. That's why I wasn't sure. Thanks!

Does anyone have any comment or a word to share about this question? Still waiting for your response

Sorry. Not much here. Just that it's always better to be honest. My answers to these questions would be:

    1. Because we've lived together in my husband's country and I want him to know where I'm from and get to know my family. and/or that we can work better together to acheive our goals as a couple (in building a family and financially supporting them)

    2. We currently don't have plans to leave the US at least for a few years, but we do plan to live between the two countries. We will also be taking trips to visit family in his country frequently.

Not sure if that helps, but like Dee elle says above, just be honest and truthful.

Odd sequence of events this week. Case complete, then receive "checklist" asking us to send a document that we already sent (but that isn't actually required according to the reciprocity schedule), then call and told that case is complete and not to send the documents listed in the letter. Timeline below.

    March 1 - Scan date

March 26 - I check CEAC status and it still says "Action Required: Please submit your documents"

March 27 - I check CEAC status and it now says "AT NVC" and the AOS line is missing from the case status page. I call the NVC and am told that the case was "just completed today" and that we are now in line for interview. Happy days.

March 27 (about 12 hours later) - I receive a four page letter from the NVC entitled "Checklist" seeking information regarding:  "F. FINANCIAL EVIDENCE" and "10. COLOMBIA POLICE CERTIFICATE". Under the "F. FINANCIAL EVIDENCE" header the letter says that petitioner's 2016 W-2 is missing (it was definitely included when we sent the package), but says that there is no need to send it, but to bring it to interview (i.e. the usual "assessment letter"). Under the "10. COLOMBIA POLICE CERTIFICATE" header, the letter says that "please send us a police certificate so we can continue to process your case." Again, we definitely included the police certificate (and translation) in the packet. In any event, I then double check the country requirements for Colombia, and the "nvc.stage.gov/find" page says specifically not to send in a Colombian police cert to the NVC, but to bring it to interview (as its available online).

March 28 - I call the NVC to ask why we received the "checklist" letter, when I'd been told the case was complete,  and the agent says that the case is complete, and not to send anything else to them or else the case will be "reopened". She says to just bring the W-2 and police certificate to the interview.

    Anyone else experience this scenario?

Same just happened to me. I've already called and they told me CC.  But I can't call to double check until Monday. It seems from other advice here that it's false and people are just getting this email, but just a lil nervous because my case is in Colombia. We'll see on Monday!

Hello Everyone... sorry in advance if these questions have already been answered...

Police Certificate... Should I have my husband fax me the police certificate he had completed in his country so I can send it in with the package or Can I just put NA?

Proof of Domicile... If the beneficiary doesn't live in the US... Am I providing my proof (petitioner)?

Proof of Relationship (only for i-864A): is spousal visa I864A?

How do I know which documents go with the IV Package, and which documents go with the AOS package?

    Thank You!

don't forget to have police certificate translated.

My scan date is 3/7/18, I think we should be getting our CC soon. It seems they are taking around 3 weeks and I saw someone yesterday with a scan date of 3/1 and someone else with 3/2 get their CC's. Good luck! :)

Same. I hope that's true. My SD is 3/9! Good luck everyone. This wait is awful because you can't do anything. Not even get things ready for the next step.

So I have been waiting for a case number since Feb 9. By Feb 23rd (the two week mark), NVC escalated it to a supervisor. I called last night and the first person I got on the phone said, your case has been created but it is in the "new database" and asked me to hang up and call back and select option 5 from the menu ( I had been selecting option 7). I follow those instructions and call back and this lady picks up the phone and says, "I can confirm that NVC has received this case today and it will take two weeks to generate a case number" ?!?!@?! I am trying to remain calm at this point and told them no, my case has been in NVC since Feb 9 and it was escalated to a supervisor on Feb 23. They asked me who said that. I said the NVC agents I have been speaking to. So she put me on hold and came back and said that she is guessing that when my case was escalated it was put into electronic processing which is good. So I said as far as I know the consulate I am applying for initially is not doing electronic processing and also that I was going to request for a consulate change anyway to the mumbai consulate because it is faster than abu dhabi and my husband is an indian national. So she said I should email asknvc@state.gov with all that info to request for a change in embassy. I told her I have been told several times that I have to wait for a case number to be generated before I could request for a change in consulate. she said since the case is going to be created for electronic processing, I should do this now before it goes through. I was going to call back today  and find out more info (I already sent in the change request) but the NVC is closed. She said this is the second "bizzare" call they are getting. Who the hell is doing this? Is abu dhabi doing EP? Why would they put my case to EP if neither embassies are doing EP? What the hell are they doing there? Any advice on how I should proceed?

If I were you, I would contact your Congressman. It's part of their job to help with Federal Agencies and there's usually a place on their website about federal agency help. If not, call their office, but they can inquire on your behalf in a more formal way. It's possible they have more knowledgeable contacts? I dunno. Just my 2 cents.

Amazing! that's awesome! Congratulations. It is posts like this that are gonna make me crazy (not because of lack of info but because it gives me hope!). any other information you can give? I submitted my packet in impeccable condition with all of the info they would ever need. So I hope that helps with the speediness. Otherwise did you do anything?

Still don't have SD 😞 Mailed my doc on the 7th of march

I called 2 days after I KNEW that they received mine (because of tracking number). They received my documents on the 7th. I called on the 9th and they said it would be 11 weeks from the 9th. I asked if I would get a receipt or email saying they received them (I assume this is the SD), but they said they no longer send out emails. Hope this helps! Just give them a call.

My case i-130 was approved from uscic on 9th January, 2018 and send to National Visa Center (NVC). Please some one tell me how long hold NVC my  case for further procedings.

You likely won't get a call to say that NVC received it, but they should have it by now. You can call them and ask them. By now, it should have a case number so you should call and get the Case# and the Invoice ID# and then you can sign into https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx and see what the next steps are.

The great thing about NVC is that you can always call them and ask questions. just make sure you have your USCIS receipt number for them
