Oath ceremony done at long last.  Now to get on with applying for the US passport and surrendering the Indian one.  There were 49 people from 23 countries today.  Lots them joined by families.  Some were from war torn countries and it was clear from how emotional they were that this was the  end of a long and arduous journey.

Congratulations! I got my passport last week and feels good to be done with EVERYTHING!

  2. Hello everyone, I just wanted to post and update and say that I am now a US Citizen!!

The oath ceremony was great. There were 48 applicants from 23 countries and it was a really great day for everyone. I went and applied for the passport today!

Thank you to everyone on here who has been so helpful during this journey. It's a long one and it's nice to know that you're not alone. I will definitely be sticking around to help answer questions for other people currently in the process or future applicants.

This is perhaps a dumb question, but I will ask....I just got an email update from USCIS saying the my oath ceremony has been scheduled and a notice has been mailed. The email also says that I should contact them if I do not receive notice by October 6. Does this mean that my oath ceremony is likely to be after the 6th of October? Denver folks who have recently gone through the process, can you share your experience re how much time between notice and oath ceremony.

Nope, that is the just standard deadline for all notices anytime your status changes online. For example, if your status for interview changed today to say, "Interview was scheduled", it would say to contact them if you don't receive your notice by Oct 7th.

My oath ceremony was scheduled on August 28th, received the mail on August 31st and took my oath on September 6th. So it was about a week. That's also the norm I've heard from other people, i.e. within a couple of weeks from notice date.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the information. Yes I filed my N-400 online November 7th 2017. I don’t understand why there’s a lot of inconsistencies with the processing timeline.. if they follow order of application I should have heard from them by now.. it’s just really stressing me out. I live 6 hours away from Denver and if not I’d go for an info pass. Can’t wait for it to be over..

That's pretty normal now. Same thing happened to me. Once your I-751 is transferred, you should soon see an interview letter.

For others wondering, my oath ceremony is this Thursday. Safe to say I am very excited to be done with this process!!

  5. Wanted to update people on here about my case. Had my interview on July 25th and got approved the same day.

    - They said they would mail my oath within a week or two

    - When I didn't hear back, I made an infopass to check on it

    - They said my I-751 was holding up my N-400, so they couldn't schedule my oath until that was resolved (filed 2+ years ago and well past priority date)

    - Got in touch with the Senator and Rep's office and they started sending inquiries

    - Senator's office got an email saying there was an unresolved issue with my I-751 and hence they couldn't schedule my oath yet. But that they were working "quickly" to resolve it.

    - August 24th, got an update on my case status for I-751 saying "Name was updated". Apparently this status is common if they re-open your file.

    - This morning (August 29th), got a notification that my Oath was mailed

Well I'm FINALLY ready to be done with this process. Frustrating that it took all this work to get them to schedule my oath, but thankful that I'll be a citizen soon!

  6. Well, I've been in touch with the Senator's office as well as my representative and they finally got a response from USCIS this morning saying that there was some hold up in my I-751 case and that they are working with the IO who interviewed me to expedite it's completion so my oath can be scheduled. Really frustrating as I had to cancel a trip since I had idea when I could receive an oath letter and didn't want to miss it. But I guess I'm glad that it's finally one step closer to being done!

Has anyone been having issues with info pass log in? Have been trying to get in to manage my info pass appointment or reschedule my appointment. What is the PIN number? Is it the number underneath your appointment number? Or where can I find it? I called customer service but no one seems to know what’s going on there as always. Pls yall

need help. I just need to figure out what the PIN number is.. have tried everything including my phone number, the number underneath the confirmation number, my A number, date of birth, I entered the confirmation number without the dashes, still didn’t work. Just need help figuring it out cos the info pass appointment is  coming up and I wanna change I Before time.

The pin is unique to your appointment and you need to take a screenshot or print out of it. I don't think there's any way to access it otherwise. Sorry!

Thank you! No I don't even know what is I-751 🤔 I had only n-400. I didn't ask about the same day oath, because he right away told me that they'll send a notice. I should've asked tho, just to see if he had more information about why they don't do the same they oath anymore.

I-751 is the remove of conditions on the 2 year green card. Be happy that you don't have to worry about that! :)

Got my email oath notification. Don't know the date yet. Ironically my car was demolished and probably totalled during hail yesterday, So if the oath is soon - I don't know if I can make it there haha.

You my friend are very lucky! Still waiting on mine unfortunately.

Update: I had my interview today, everything was super quick and only lasted about 10 min. I passed and my IO said that they will send me an oath notice in 2-6weeks. And it will be sent 2 weeks before the actual oath ceremony.

Congratulations!! That is so exciting!! Did you have a pending I-751? Did you ask them about same day oath?

The day is finally here, I got my N400 interview notice in the mail (online notification August 2nd that it was scheduled). I filed on paper last August (Priority date August 14 2017). The interview is set for September 6th. My I751 was joined with my N400 when I filed the N400, but isn't mentioned in the interview notice. Am I correct to assume I should be bringing my spouse and all I751 stuff to the interview, as they'll do both at once? And even if they have a same day oath again by then, I assume a 12:30 pm interview is too late to make that?

     Thanks

I had my N-400 interview (no mention of I-751 on notice) two weeks ago, and the first thing they asked me when they called my name was "Did you bring your spouse with you?" So I would definitely take your spouse because if your ROC is pending, good chance they'll do it together.

As far as I know, they don't do same day oath anymore. You could get lucky by then, but I wouldn't count on it. Also with the ROC pending, be prepared to wait a bit for an oath, at least that's been my case.

  11. You will need to study the guide of 100 questions on their website as posted above. They will ask 10 random questions from that, of which you need 6 right. No one here can predict what they will ask. This will vary by field office, officer, what day it is etc., so there is no way to predict.

Just make it a point to memorize them all to be safe. You don't want to delay your N-400 process because you can't put in 2 hrs to learn the answers. Good luck

  12. Well, just wanted to share with you guys about what I learned on my infopass (which was basically useless).

    - I interviewed on July 25th and they did a concurrent I-751/N-400. They approved my citizenship and said I should see an update in 2 days and oath letter within 2 weeks.

    - It's been almost 2 weeks and nothing has happened with my case, so I went in to see if anything was wrong.

    - The infopass officer was really nice but proceeded to tell me that even though they approved my N-400 on my interview date, they technically cannot schedule my oath until my I-751 is "processed".

    - He said they have 90 days to respond to me and I can't really do anything about it until then.

Super frustrating especially because my interviewing officer was very reassuring said that she would get all my stuff updated and get me an oath within 2 weeks. I guess I shouldn't have expected anything to happen on time with USCIS.

Approximately one month after filing my citizenship my spouse decided to relocate to another state for job hunting . We now have different addresses and My citizenship is married based one . What’s the best thing I have to do at the moment. Plz help me with this journey thanks

You need to provide us with more info. Are you living separately? If so for how long? How are you going to show that your marriage is real i.e. proof etc.?
