no you dont make an appointment to cross. hand the agent the packet and they'll send you to secondary to finish the process.

sounds like youve completed your interview, but had they asked, just giving them an approximate date (if its like K1 it would have to be within 6 months but not sure if diff for cr1) and where you will cross.

My understanding is that with electronic visas there is no packet. At least that’s what I was told. I was only sent back my passport with visa, and a generic letter where they crossed out info about handing over the visa packet.

I’m trying to find out similar experiences but it’s a little hard to find the details.

The visa itself is annotated with “IV docs in CCD”

Ahh I see, the flights are quite expensive at the moment. I usually pay around £600 but I’m looking at at least £900 now 😑 I’m hoping to go out by the 13th so my fiancé and I can spend my birthday together. Btw did they give you back all of your photos? They didn’t take any of mine and I’ve been paranoid that they’ll call me asking me to come back with some!

She just scanned my passport photo and handed it back to me. I’ve got an electronic visa (instead of a visa packet) so she said that was why. I’ll only receive my passport back and everything will be on a computer system for the immigration officer at POE.

Thanks! I was accepted right after you left & practically skipped out of there :D  Did your online status change today?

I’m pretty sure I did some high kicks and jumps for joy once we got outside :jest:in adminstrive processing at the moment- but it’s been most recently updated yesterday. My medical wasn’t there yet (I had my medical on the 8th) but was told it should be there that day and that they’d issue it right away. Booked my flight out for the 16th. Would’ve preferred earlier but didn’t want to fork out too much cash on flights. What’s an extra week or two now that the long hard journey is over? ^_^ Our approval came on the anniversary of them receiving our i130!

Awesome! Congrats! What did you say your reason for expediting was? And what date did you get for your interview?

There was a couple of financial difficulties causing a lot of stress to us both, and with a specific date that I’d need to enter the US at the latest to minimise them. Don’t want to go into too much detail here but typical housing, job and sick family member stuff. Thankfully no more sleepless nights hahah 🤞

I need to booky own interview for London, my case is currently in transit and the system isn’t letting me enter my number to pick a date. So just waiting a few days I guess for London to unlock my case number (I’ve emailed them too). I’ve got my medical booked already though.

We’re waiting for a London interview as well. What email address did you send an expedite request to?

    NVCExpedite@state.gov

And we just got our expedite approval today! An NVC employee recommended we give it a try, it doesn’t extend your own wait time or “put you to the back of line” if rejected. So no harm trying. It was an extra thing to stress about, but worked out well for us thankfully.

CC may 5, still have no interview date and I’m really struggling with the feeling they lost our documents or forgot about us. Do you have the same? It seems like it’s never gonna end. Plus for our country almost no information, makes me really nervous.

Totally! It’s really stressing us out. It seems like no one got any interview dates in London at the end of last month/beginning this month. Only info coming through are those who expedited. They haven’t even reviewed our expedite request that was sent to London on the 8th of this month. Someone else we know got it sent later to London and they had a decision within 48 hours. Our requests for updates were responded with a generic copy and paste of the exact same email we first got.

Thank you. it seems I had to have max of 5MB in each email :(

So I just resent the documents in two separate emails. However, I screwed up again and one of the emails totaled more than 5MB :( So I just resized the docs and resent the same email. Let's see what happens next!

it is stupid! Their instructions specifically say that EACH PDF, not each email!

    yup, here is the list:

    Method 2: Email Processing required

If your NVC case number begins with one of the following prefixes:

    • AKD
    • AMM
    • BGH (except I-730 petitions)
    • DMS
    • GZO

Those are email processing countries, not pivot. Pivot ones upload to CEAC. The official list was taken down several weeks ago- I believe it is because they’re adding more countries to the list and don’t wish to keep updating the website.

Here you can find out if you can submit your documents by uploading, by email or mail based on the initials of your case number.

I was just looking at this earlier and noticed they removed the list of embassy prefixes under electronic processing (I recall they’re expanding). It’s not just me that can’t find it now, right? I’m now worried that my country will be added to the list and I’ll be in for that 8 week and over wait!

8 weeks to get a simple delivery from another government within the same country??

It’ll take about 2 weeks to send, 2 weeks have it received, and then they’re saying 8 weeks to assign a case number. That’s all rough averages right now. The lucky ones take less, but most are longer. I think pivot countries are closer to 8 weeks (and over) and all other cases are roughly 5 weeks.

  10. Hi there!

We’re currently waiting on a case number from NVC, and in the meantime making sure all our documents are ready to prevent further delay. Just a few questions and concerns.

Firstly, our joint sponsor (retired, and our “main” sponsor)- to prove his income would we need some kind of SSI letter, and then an additional one for his pension? Are those sufficient or would be need additional proof?

Secondly, regarding 2017 taxes. It’s likely we’ll submit our NVC paperwork before the April tax deadline, but review and interview after the deadline. What tax years should we submit (and if different, which should be brought to interview) and how soon after filing taxes are returns or transcripts available? I don’t fully understand US taxes and how they’re filed (despite best attempts to research), but would photocopies of what is sent not be sufficient, or do we need copies coming from the IRS?

    Thank you for any help!
