It should be okay. As far as I know, only the civil documents are required to be on orginal on the day of the interview.

everything else that were sent to NVC or uploaded in CEAC were not asked to be resubmitted.

I had scanned copy of I-864 during my interview last Oct 16,2018 at the USEM. Got approved and leaving on the 29th.

although it's always safer to have the orginal copy if you have time to send it over to her. 😊 Goodluck.

Going to send my original copy of I-864 this week. Just to be sure and don't want any delays.

Thank you  and congratulations on your approval! Safe travels! 😊

  2. I was confused with the messages sent to us at CEAC website.

We received a message stating a case review note but we also received another one stating that our documents were received and approved. We checked our status and it stated "At NVC". It's Sunday and I cannot call NVC... So are we under review or case complete?
    Oct 10, 2018 - Submitted IV
    Oct 11, 2018 - Submitted AOS
Oct 12, 2018 - IV and AOS Accepted. We also got these messages

P.S. We already sent my mom's 2017 federal tax return and I don't know why they want us to submit it again.

  3. We are now preparing our papers for the NVC stage. My mom agreed to be my joint sponsor. She and I live separately. I’m here in TX and she’s there with dad in VA. I know I will fill up I-864 and so does my mom. Should my dad fill up some forms too? Or is it okay for him not to fill up any forms? Hope you’ll help me. Thanks!!

You don't need ID/documents from each list.   You will do best to have ID from the primary and/or secondary list.   Two IDs.    (re-issued college ID should be fine)

Getting an appointment with DFA will be too much fun, it appears that FIXERS have "stolen" all appointment openings and are selling them back to people .

Yeah. DFA removed passport appointment slots for travel agencies since last year.
There's gonna be someone :alien: inside the DFA supplying all those appointment slots to the travel agency.

  5. She doesn't have an Alumni ID?
I am not sure if the school will issue another college ID for her because she's a graduate already.
The only thing the school can give her is an Alumni ID.

If she's going to get a driver's licence, the LTO will give her a student permit first. After a month, she can apply for the actual driver's licence.  I am not sure if the DFA will accept a student permit.

It should be PSA Birth Certificate. NSO is now PSA.

Please be reminded that walk ins are not allowed anymore.

I would just send a good sample of chats over the length of the relationship. Please don't make a poor IO sit there with a pile of papers with chat messages. :P They won't read it anyway. I personally sent 1 page per month together as well, and even that seemed overkill IMHO.

The paper size is a non-issue.

This case is an I-130 for a spouse. Unlike the I-129F for a K-1, there is no need to show that you have met in person at least once within the past 2 years, which is where the photos & chat logs and such are "secondary evidence".

That said, yes, I would absolutely also suggest showing evidence of time you spent physically together...they do love to see that.

I will keep that in mind. Thanks!
I also made a timeline of our relationship from the time we started dating til we got married. It has our pictures w/captions.

I met my husband during my internship in the US 2 years ago. Is it alright to put my J1 visa as well? Just to support that I went to the US before and I met him there.

For me, personally, I just did clips from every month that showed consistent talking.  I focused more on the dates rather than content to show the length and consistency of chat logs.

I also took screen shots of our call time(s)/date that showed the length of time/consistency.  I took one screen shot from every month.

While chat logs are great and important.  I believe the primary evidence they look at is flight stubs/boarding passes/receipts from being together/anything with your name and date attached to it etc.

I would suggest focusing more on that then photos/logs which I believe are considered "secondary evidence"

    Best of luck :)

Thanks a lot! We're all good with our other evidences. It's just that we don't know what to do with our chat logs.

  8. My husband and I messaged each other for more than two years, so there's gonna be a lot of chat logs.
How much chat logs do we need to send? Do we need to send the most current one? Or just a selection of our chat logs?
I am also worried on the paper size because some of our documents are on Legal size, not on a letter size. Is it going to be alright?

We are going to send our i-130 this week.

    Thanks in advance.
