There is no timeframe for AP. But in your case, hopefully it will progress soon to the next step.

It could mean that they got the document and are reviewing it.

Yes they have the document required since Sept27 and few days back they told me that my case is in the final stage of processing and thats the time it changes to AP from Ready. I really wish it will show issued so  I can breathe. This widow case as my petitioner passed away.

Is there a reason why you didn't interview in the KSA?

When I inquire riyadh embassy, they are only giving interviews for cr1/ir1 at the moment. They cannot give clear information as to when they will process other visa categories.. My case was stuck at nvc since July2020. And I was surprised when the monthly data results for visa issued, other embassies are giving iw1. But not here in Riyadh.

WOW! 9 years. Was in Phils for 9 years.

And then to the States! Kool.

    Hang in there.

Let us know how its going.

And be sure to let them know you are in the Phils, and see if you can get them to take you, no matter what.

    Stay on their asses.

See you in the US soon.

    Best,

    Suze1

Thanks dear.. I keep sending them for a date. I even attached my ticket booked. Also, not too many cases for widow visas. So I hope they can give priority considering we lost our spouses already.. I live in Dumaguete city. Negros oriental.

    Yeah, sorry about that.

So, you told them, they knew,  and they gave you two weeks notice! Arrgh.

My concern is, that could happen again.

Also,  my concern is, you might get another offer in Saudi, and would then have to decide to give it up or not.

And who knows the future with covid, travel, etc.!!!

    Really crappy situation right now.

So, the request for expedition might have been premature. But, you had no idea it would be that quick, so...I hear ya.

    SMH...Sorry about that.

    Things are what they are.

Let us know how it goes, interview date-wise.

It's okay thank you.. Actually, I'm not expecting il get an appointment within that short period as many are waiting in the que who were also expedited based on what I have read in other forums.. My employment here is currently 50/50 due to the airline industry are in bad situations. Many are losing their jobs. So getting a new offer to extend another year might be considered as a miracle.. Anyway thanks. I just hope and pray that things will be okay during my vacation and I will get a feedback from the embassy. Cross fingers..

When you moved it, and  requested expedition, did you give them any idea when you would actually be able to be in the Phils?

Did you know when? Did they?

I ask because it makes me wonder if it mattered to them or not.

Or did they have the impression that you were already in the Phils.

    Just wondering.

Because if they don't care, it can happen again.

Anyway, you understand what has to happen.

    Be well.

When my case shows ready, I emailed them requesting for a possible date of interview telling that I am currently overseas and getting flight has to booked in advance..i got no response.. After two weeks, I got an email for an expedited interview appointment and the date is just also 2 weeks ahead which is really not possible. So now I emailed them, called them and asking for a new date which is within my vacation days. If I am not lucky enough, il just go for medical and still will try to get new appointment.

  7. 3 minutes ago, Suze1 said:

    Yeah, real reason. Understood.

But you have too much guessing about place and timing.

You asked for expedition, and got it, and then did not show up.

When will the next appointment be? I have NO IDEA. Do YOU?

Do you pick the next interview date or do they?

You have a major timing and place issue.

    I wish you well.

Thanks.. I emailed about the reason for not coming due to flight availability. So I am hoping they can re schedule me. Anyway, the case will be open for 1 yr and when my contact finish by October, il surely going to my home country.

You have vacation, your contract is ending, etc...you have too many unknowns, given all the covid-impacts and travel considerations.

All I can say is - I would not play around with the Embassy too much..smile.

I think you need to know WHERE you are going to  be, WHERE you can be, and WHEN, and make plans on that basis.

You have a massive timing dependency.

When I requested for expedite, I attached my contract that will expire in October. So it's a real reason not drama or playing with embassy. Why should I..

  9. 11 minutes ago, Suze1 said:

I see. Bad timing.  Guessing about timing can always an issue.

So, what is your plan now?

I have no idea when they might reschedule you,  given the covid situation in Phils..

Follow the VJ Philippine Forum closely to see what is happening in Manila NCR.

You need to know where you are going to be, and BE THERE, right!

Did you explain to them the situation?

I wonder if they can/might/should re-schedule it for Saudi embassy. All depends on the timing, right!

I already filed my vacation from August til Sept for 40 days. I l just get medical and right away once cleared, il try to request again. I have already explained too about my situation.. Since I am expedited and not too many cases for us in IW-1, maybe they can consider. Cross fingers.

  10. 12 minutes ago, Suze1 said:

    I see.

Seems to me you needed to file based on where you reside, not where you are from.

You need to interview in the country you are legally currently in, unless there is a reason (like they are not interviewing people).

Actually my case was assigned in riyadh since I'm working in jeddah. However m, my employment contract is about to end in a couple of months..so I decided to transfer to manila and requested for expedited. It was approved last month but I didn't expect they will gave me appointment after 2 weeks.. Many are saying a lot are in que. Very difficult to get a flight ticket from middle east..

  11. 5 hours ago, Suze1 said:

Did they re-schedule you or did you request a reschedule?

I was expedited. They provided me a schedule but i wasnt able to attend coz I am overseas as OFW and could not get a ticket. now , I am requesting for a re-schedule. waiting for their feedback.

    3 hours ago, payxibka said:

They were probably preparing your file for the interview

i guess because supposedly it was my interview yesterday.

You really need to understand we are in the Covid era. Nothing is like it was before. Even getting an appointment nowadays is somewhat of a miracle. Being able to reschedule and even pick a date for your reschedule will be next to impossible. Posting a new thread and expecting different answers that your last thread will not change the reality of your situation. I really wish you the best of luck.

i will just wait for now the feedback of the embassy. anyhow, I mentioned my reason in my email so if they will give me a new schedule as per my request maybe am lucky. Its really difficult for me as I do not want to quit my job also until i have the visa..

Given that it is extremely hard to get any type of interview for the past 15 months, rescheduling is not the best idea, but in some cases it cant be avoided.  I think youll find the members here who have had to reschedule (sputum tests, etc etc), a few were able to reschedule a month or two out from when all of the requirements were met, while others have been waiting months with no reply for a reschedule.  Either they will be able to re-schedule you in that tight timeline of 1 week in September or you will find yourself waiting for a long time and may even have to fly back again to Manila.

I really wanted to attend my interview but sad to say I can't get a ticket and also requires 10days quarantine upon arriving in Manila. My case was expedited. Converted from spouse to widow visa. Maybe they can consider me once they saw my email with explanation about my situation. Cross fingers.

You have already asked this question.

yeah i remember. just re-posting if some members are on the same boat with me. I am just so worried with my situation as my vacation is already planned. so anxious right now.. my case is also expedited.

  15. Hello. I got an appointment on July 2 but for some reason I cannot attend. I requested for later date like last week of August and I mention my reason. Currently, I am working abroad and could not get a flight ticket so i mention this as my main reason.

I will be on my vacation from 2nd week to 3rd week of Sept2021. I hope they can grant my requested dates. Anyone here is re-scheduling your interview? can you share your timeline pls.

    Thanks

SLEC and the sputum protocol was the major hurdle for us.  My wife had an x-ray before the SLEC physical and after their physical.  Her x-ray was normal.  Two times SLEC put her through the 8 week protocol.  Once in the United States she was tested and no TB.  That thin white line on x-rays that SLEC seems to find all the time has caused a lot of problems.  Best of luck.

Thanks. I just wonder that mostly a lot of cases for sputum test in Manila. very rear that I read for other embassies abroad.  Though it doesnt affect the interview process but it can cause delays and at the end, mostly are negative.

As others have said, this has nothing to do with the interview process. There is nothing that you can do until you have your x-ray during your exam and pray that they do not flag you for the sputum testing. If you are flagged for testing you will need to return to SLEC for 3 consecutive days where they will take a sample from you. Following that you need to wait 8 weeks to get your culture results. If they is negative (which seems to be the case 90% of the time) you may reschedule your interview appointment. If you end up being positive, you will have to go through the treatment process before you can schedule your interview.

I believe it is more to do with incompetence than corruption. You pay 1 fee that covers your medical exam whether you have to go through sputum or not. It actually costs them more money to go through sputum than if you don't, so they definately are not doing it to make more profit.

My wife does not smoke or drink either and is very healthy. She was still flagged for sputum testing. It was negative and she just recently had her interview.

Hello. yes, it will not affect the interview process however, i am working currently abroad and my vacation days will be limited. I hope il not be flagged for this sputum.

There are some somewhat dated statistics online for SLEC that seem to indicate that between 2007-2012 SLEC tested 231,818 Filipino Immigrants and detected 2,398 cases of actual TB.  But also found abnormal x-ray results in 31,597 Filipinos who went on to be found to have a negative sputum culture.

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6390485/

So going by that, something like 15% of all Filipino Immigrants that go through SLEC are diagnosed with an irregular chest x-ray and sent for sputum testing. Of those sent for sputum testing, about 93% of them are a false alarm.

This is what I am worried actually. I hope doctors will be honest atleast on their choosen field not only for the sake of earning. It will not be fair if the result are not 100% okay. I got worried because I am an ofw in middle east and my vacation in manila is limited. I pray and hope I will not face this problem soon.

SPUTUM is decided by the doctor, if any scarring or shadows appear in the X-ray then most likely you will have to complete SPUTUM.

so i think it is best to have x-ray from another hospital a month before to make sure its fine?
