Hello! I'm also petitioning for my husband who is in Turkey. A pivot case means that you will do the entire NVC process online, you won't have to mail anything in...you'll upload everything to the CEAC site.

you should get your case & invoice number soon. First you'll pay the IV & AOS fees. Then form ds260 will open up & you'll fill that out online. I would look at a sample so you know what info you might need. Then you'll upload your wife's civil documents...passport bio page, birth certificate (we did the formul A & another kind of birth certificate cuz we weren't sure which one they'd want from Turkey), a police clearance certificate (from Turkey and any other country she lived in for more than 6 months). Your marriage certificate as well. Plus English translations if any form is in Turkish. Then you'll upload all of the AOS docs. Form I-864, tax transcripts, etc.

eta: and her military record from Turkey if she served

After your fees were processed how long did it take to fill everything else online and submit the documents ?

I would call NVC this week to make sure they received it. If you're a pivot case (electronic uploading process) it can take 8-9 weeks to receive a case number. For regular petitions it's about 4 weeks. I found out I was a pivot case when I called NVC...they told me to call back and press 5 for CEAC cases.

So if you call them AND have to press 5 does that mean I'm also a pivot case. Because my embassy is in Sarajevo and it doesn't look like they do electronic.

    congrats

I got even more excited seeing this because I share your exact NOA2 date (31st january) and NVC received dates (16th February).

But when I rang them up yesterday and today, they are telling me that they did NOT receive my case yet. It is not in their system.

i don't even ask anymore questions after that, because the answer will be "it can take up to 6 weeks for USCIS to send a case to NVC"

have the NVC LOST MY CASE!??

Same thing happened to me last friday, my received date was February 13, I was calling everyday and that's what they told me and then when I called last Friday out of nowhere they said that they didn't receive my case yet. I called 3 times that day and finally at night is when they told me my case was all of a sudden received March 16 which still doesn't make any sense to me and they are not giving me any explanation but just have to wait. Wasted a whole month for no reason.

Oh no one told me that...i mean EP would've been faster...id be glad if our consulates are there but as of now theyre not...so idk why they cant just tell u what consulates are being added on

Yeah I know that would be great because it would be a lot faster once we finally receive the case number. I don't know why she couldn't tell me, she seems like she doesn't even know what she is talking about and just wanted to get me off the phone. I feel like most of them are so rude.

I emailed them a request..for the past month theyve been telling me that I have to wait for a case number to request for a change..but now theyre telling me I can request it now..the request is sent via email..I sent them an email about that too last week...no replies yet..ifyour consulate code is any of the following: ADD, ANK, BGH, BNS, FRN, GTM,
HNK, ISL, KBL, KEV, KHT, MRV,
MTL, PHP, RDJ, SEO, SYD, TGG, THT

You will be doing CEAC processing..I got it from their site

    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-6-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html

See they don't even know what they are talking about. They are so rude and lazy that's what I feel like..wow my consulate is not on there for it won't be electronic. But the supervisor said they are adding 35 more consulates to be able to do CEAC but couldn't tell me if my consulate will be one of them...

My situation is further complicated by the fact that i have to request for a consulate change from abu dhabi to mumbai...but neither one of them does EP so it shouldnt havr been sent to the "new database"as they call it

Oh wow. Can you change the consulate now so you don't have to wait even more? And is there a way I can check if my consulate will be EP, because not even the supervisor knows.

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that. Is there anyway you can talk to supervisor and ask him about this? I’M gonna be crazy if it happens to me :(.

I talked to 2 supervisors and they keep saying different things, trying to say that it was never received Feb 13 but March 16 but I even have an email stating that it was received. One of them said that the case was in the old system now they transferred into a new system. I swear they don't even know what they are saying anymore it's ridiculous. This has been one of the most stressful processes of my life. I really hope it doesn't happen to you and it probably won't, I'm just that unlucky. :(:(:(

I completely get it! Personally, I know this is horrible, but, I am a little relievd that I am not the only one this happened to!!?!?! Its ridiculous but I was going crazy thinking why this was just happening to me. I posted here so many times and no one seemed to know what to do...at least one other person knows what its like! What consulate did u request

I'm glad I'm not the only one either. But it's like why us why did this have to happen. My consulate will be Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. What about you ?

So i spoke to a supervisor n it didn't help at all... She told me to email asknvc@state.gov. include the petitioner name and dob and the beneficiary name and dob and the uscis receipt number in the subject line and explain what happened if you're not a pivot case mention that too.. Check whether your consulate is one of the new ones starting to do EP. I emailed them last week and talked to three different agents and a supervisor with no change or help... I'm waiting for a reply to my email

I was told the same thing, to send them an email. But it's crazy everytime I call a different agent tells me different story. Most of them try to tell me that my case was never received Feb 13 but I even have an email of them stating that it was. I don't think my consulate is EP unless is changes. I just can't believe this is happening. Wasted a month for no reason now we have to wait 8 weeks instead of waiting 3 weeks because that one month they are not counting and it's like starting this NVC process all over again. On top of everything is takes them forever to reply to an email. So unfair I swear.

No My case WAS received by NVC on Feb 9. Like 20 different agents told me so for the past one month. I had just been waiting for my case number and out of the blue my peition ends up in EP like a pivot case but neither one of the embassies I am requesting does EP. It is a bizzare situation and they have no answers for me yet. Major screw up by someone at NVC basically. Now in their electronic system is says that they JUST got my petition on March 12! Ridiculous

Exact same thing happened to me. I was told this whole time that my case was received on February 13 and out of nowhere now they are saying that it was received March 16. Ah I really don't know what to do. Have you talked to a supervisor? What can we do to fix this. This is freaking unfair.

It seems like Indiandallas’s case was at NvC on the 12th Feb. did you call to see what happen with your case yet? Can they locate your case now?

I called today and was told that out of nowhere my case now was received March 16, can go you believe that? That is seriously crazy. This whole time I was calling and was told that they received it February 13. I really don't know what to do anymore. :( this is so unfair.

I said so because the same thing happened to me... NVC received my case on the 6th Feb and since that day I kept calling twice a day for a case number and all I got was to wait for 8 weeks... suddenly on the 1st of March i called at night and I was told they couldn't find my USCIS receipt number with them which I have been using for the last 3 weeks whenever I called them. I was confused also but on the 2nd I decided to call again and spoke to a lady, she starting my asking me question about the petitioner name and beneficiary name and date of birth after that she gave me my case number...

Hope yours will be the same

Omg that would be amazing. Did u call on that same day when they told you that they don't have your case (receipt number) and that's when they gave you your case number ?

Just did not get the case number after over 4 weeks, and see other people’s post make me worry that they lost my case :((. I always think the worst.

That's kinda what happened to me, they received it February 13, 2018 and it passed 4 weeks and then out of nowhere they don't have my case anymore. But I'm sure yours is okay, they are saying that is taking 8 weeks to get a case number now which is still crazy when some people get their case number within 2 weeks. I just feel like they are lazy!!!
