Hello,
I was wondering if anyone experienced this.. I misplaced my I-601 approval letter, I do have a copy scan of it as well as the letter that was sent to my lawyer showing it was approved and the email from USCIS advising me it was approved.
I recently got my Visa approved and the CO advised me that CBP may want to see the original.
Will I be refused entry without it? Even though I have proof of it.
I was advised I can refill out another form but there is n time as my medical expires September and the processing time takes 8 to 12 months to receive it.
We are still looking everywhere for it but I was curious if anyone crossed through to activate their Visa and didn't have an original copy.
just frantic right now and I wanted to see if anyone has been through this!
Thanks!

Congratulations!! How was the interview? Like what kind of questions do they ask?
It went great and super fast! They asked about our relationship, where we met, how long we've known each other and when did we get married. Everything they ask are easy answers really. My interview lasted 5 minutes if that!

Congrats @Lola2! Very happy for you! Looking at your previous posts it seems your only about a month away from your medical expiring right? Crazy how close they cut it considering it expires in 6 months. Good luck at your interview!
Yes cutting it close for sure! And thank you!

I’ve been waiting for an appointment to become available at the embassy of Montreal. What’s the best time to check? Anyone else with the same problem?
It took me 3 weeks from the day I received my email to book it, I checked every day at least 10 times a day! I got it around 9am or so when I got through! It was a month out for selection also! Not many openings pop up when they do so stay on it! I go this Friday!

@Lola2 After you mailed your medical and background to the consulate, how long till you heard from them to get an interview date? Did they tell you to book your own interview via the AIS site?
Sorry I am just seeing this now! It took about 2 months or so to hear from them and yes I had to book my own appointment! It took me 3 weeks checking every day all day to get one and I actually go this Friday!

Hi! Lola! Congrats! Did they give an interview date? When is it? We are waiting to hear from the Montréal consulate. Our waiver was approved Jan 30 2019
Not yet, I needed to di another medical and background check, which I did last week. Once I have them then I need to send it to them via mail. Then I will get an interview date.

Just curious on your timeline. We are also going through the Montreal office once our 601A is approved from the Nebraska center. Apparently my husband has to interview in Montreal (he is a dual Mexico/Canadian citizen). We're right at the 6 month mark now since we've submitted the paperwork so I'm hoping any time now we'll get some news.
Anyway I rarely see any forum subjects that are going through Montreal so I got all excited
Haha I know what you mean! Well mine is a I-601 not I-601A and from my understanding yours is processing faster than mine. I applied for my waiver November of 2016 and just got my approval December 2018, so just over 2 years! So brutal! I still haven't heard from the embassy yet but when I do, I will let you know! Good luck! 😊

You should have heard by now. Contact the consulate and find out what's going on. If you have a lawyer, have him/her contact the consulate.
Thanks, I did contact the Consulate via email and they told me my file is with a consular officer.

I just received an approved I-601 form from USCIS. Does anyone know how long it will take to hear back from the Montreal US Consulate?

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I finally got my waiver approved! I applied November of 2016, I got a RFE in April 2018, replied by July 2018 and we just got the approval today! So it took a little over 2 years. Good luck to everyone waiting! Xo

No, we haven't yet responded to our RFE. Waiting for some medical reports from the GP. We are going to respond back to USCIS in a couple of weeks now.
