Mine is a pivot case btw. I'm wondering if that's why its taking so long.

Got my case number today.
Nvc received: Feb 9th
Case #: March 9th
Exactly 4 weeks
Non-pivot case
Was escalated to supervisor after 2 weeks but I don't think that had anything to do with getting the case# quicker or later.

Looks like majority of the people here are waiting to get a case number.. I thought I’d share my experience with that. NVC recieved my case on January 26 and after that I called almost everyday to get a case number and they always told m to wait till Feb 9, which would mark 2 weeks. But on Feb 9 I still didn’t get a case # so I got it sent to a supervisor and then on feb 12 I got it sent to supervisor again and then I finally got a case number on feb 14 and welcome letter the next day via email! 

Nvc received 16 Feb. 
Called today and still no case number! 

Yes they are open today and on hold now, calling for my status too.

Same here I've been waiting since Feb 13 and no case number yet. I've been calling everyday and they keep saying the same thing "we are running behind give us more time" and stuff like that..I am getting so pissed, why don't they work over time to get their work done and give us our case numbers already..

Please don't let depression set in, this process can be slow and then pick up. But definitely God will show you mercy and all will go well. there is a reason for everything so stay positive soon it will be history.

I just called them and no case # yet as expected. 
 
they supposedly put a supervisor note on it on February 28th when in fact I called on Feb 15th n escalated it. Apparently they DIDNT do it on that day. I would be so freaking pissed if I get pushed 2 weeks back!
 
Supposedly it is in line to be worked on...I wonder how long the damn line is!

interesting my sis in law got it 2 years ago so we did too...
best to double check with visa people...i THINK if u file extension u still will give 2016 taxes or prior

yeah i think that says u dont need to birng it to interview but u still need to submit to nvc. 

they consider the most recent tax year to be for the prior year up to the tax deadline of that year, so for them to say most current we would all assume once we do our taxes that is the most current, so look at it April 2017 to April 15 2018 to be 2016 taxes...after April 17th of this year the most current tax will be 2017

yeah im trying to make sense of the process or whats going on but seems like there isnt some pattern. islamabad is pivot so I THINK once we get case #, REST SHOULD BE QUICK (I THINK CC in 3-4 weeks)

No ours is not a pivot case. We are in the U.K.. It's normal mail process. Ours is ir5 case. And we haven't seen our son since 3 years. 

I thought only pivot cases are taking longer....I think my case is a pivot case that'll be going to Islamabad. I haven't seen my husband since 10 months.

oh wow i hope they consider this when working on cases because they affect people lives who are following the rules and doing it the right way so they should make the process as fast as possible. i would get it if theres delay due to security checks but most seem to be because not enough resources to work on it or bad systems and process. 

I called NVC this morning and they are closed!!! And here I was hoping to get my case # soon. I hope they dont plan to be closed for long 😞

Yeah I saw the officiaL announcement yesterday...I am really hoping it doesn't delay interviews further!! This is so devastating..one after the other..first nvc is backed up and I don't even have a case number and now this...I dont know what to do

NVC closed early today.. Snow in forecast until friday and on Monday and tuesday as well. Hope they are not closed for that long.

Seems like all the cases until  NVC receive date Feb 8 have been entered in to the system...

I will pray for you and for all the others still waiting that they can get caught up soon and get things moving on a normal path again.

I had called last week and asked for a supervisor in the department that puts in the cases to call me, I got that call the other day and pressed for more information. My case is not a pivot case.
