Hey Danju! I just wanted to let you know we got our letter for our scheduled interview yesterday! Our interview is on Feb 28th and looks like they scheduled it last Tuesday on January 15th! I knew our timelines were kindof similar, so just wanted to give you some hope that it's coming!

I just saw your message !! That is so awesome :D I am still waiting I'm in Texas and they're known for being extra slow .. keep me updated and good luck :D

  2. Hello everyone, I couldn't find much on the forum. I know those posts are from 2016 but in case ..

I came on a K1 visa in June, got married, didn't get on the insurance of my husband because he was on obamacare. In 2019 it's not an obligation anymore to have health insurance & so no more penalty as well. He won't renew with Obamacare. But I'm starting working next week & will have a plan health insurance with my employer. We don't know yet if we should get it or not .. We're absolutely never sick (I know, it can happen we never know) but we haven't been sick in years, & would rather pay a check up once in a while & pay out of pocket instead of paying insurance. The only thing that scares me : I haven't got my GC yet, only my EAD, & at our interview for the GC I'm scared they ask for the health insurance. Is it something that could penalize us if we don't ? Of course we'll have other documents to prove our relationship as insurance car together, joint account, rent .. Thank you in advance for your answers !

  3. Hello everyone !

sorry I don’t participate but read all of you .. my card is being produced today ! On day 125, in Dallas, TX.

thought I would tell you in case some people are in this area (we’re are known for being so slow in this state 😅 well the immigration, slower than other states)

I wish y’all that it comes ASAP ! This wait is ridiculous .. 😥

I was checking to see if anyone knew what this status update meant? It is the most recent update for our application for employment Authorization (1-765), but we requested an expedite on his travel document. He has to leave to take his Canadian medical boards for his final year of Medical school, even though he wants to practice in the United States, legally as a Canadian he has to complete these boards as well. There was no update on his travel document receipt number only the employment. I know they come as one card now, but was just wondering why they updated only the work status and not the travel?

Looks like he’s getting his combo card !! :)))) gives me hope as we filled the same day as you ! Probably the expedite helped tho.

    Hey everyone.

Another June filer here - happy to join the party!

We are in California and received the online notice on 1 August that we are ready to be scheduled for an interview. Does anyone have experience of how long the scheduling takes?

Also - does that mean we've bypassed any RFE?

    Thanks so much!

Hello & congrats :) I’ve been ready to be scheduled for interview since August 8th, that only means you’re “in line” to be scheduled but unfortunately it can takes unlimited time from now (which means months basically 😅).

I’m not sure about RFE but for what I’ve read so far, it looks like we won’t get any until we get to the actual interview (IF we get any, we might as well not have any other papers required at the time of the interview). But you know, USCIS is full of surprises so we never know 😂😂😂

I just had my AOS interview at the Raleigh NC field office. Went through the usual airport style security to waiting room and waited for our number to be called.

We got called in by a friendly officer. He told us he needed a copy of our marriage certificate because he couldn't find it, so I gave one to him. He asked me some basic biographical questions and some of the yes/no questions from the AOS packet. He said that since the K1 was done that it's already been shown relationship is real. He then asked how we met, when we decided to get married, and when we first met in person. We had nice little conversations with him just about everyday stuff throughout the interview. It seemed to have gone well. He didn't ask for anything else aside from the copy of the marriage certificate so I offered him the co-mingling evidence and he took it. He said that that would be important for the ROC. He told us that we would probably get a decision within the next couple of days.

The whole interview probably took about 10 mins.

Thank you for sharing your experience, glad you got out of it pretty fast !! Congrats :)

@danju Your status has updated to "ready to be scheduled"? I just received an update this morning saying they received my bio metrics and they are still processing the case. Our appointment was Monday, July 30th so 10 days ago.

The online status updates have been really strange for us, they never updated to let us know we had a biometrics appointment, we just received the notice in the mail and the only update besides them saying they received our case on July 11st was the update from this morning. Did you get an update when your biometrics appointment was scheduled and now that your ready to be scheduled for an interview?

Yes I got my appointment last Friday the 3rd, my status changed Tuesday for “fingerprints review was completed” & yesterday but I saw it just this morning “case is Ready to be scheduled for interview” ! I just got a letter before that with my NAO1 & appointment notice, all together. The website is a bit strange but yes, it’s been pretty fast for us since it’s been a week tomorrow I had my biometrics ! Depends probably on the state, not sure 😅 I’m glad to see we’re ready to be scheduled but it’s gonna be a looooong wait still, just nice to see our case is moving forward & hope it’s gonna be the same for you very soon !

    Thank you so much.

I mean it makes sense. I thought that I researched enough to have included everything, but obviously not.

You're welcome ! I am in the exact same case, my husband is self employed as well & it was all confusing at first. I wish you would have known before but at least it's an "easy fix" that you can send whenever the letter arrives !

I’m hoping someone can answer me in here (I’m a July filer).

i recently had an alert that I would be getting an RFE for my AOS

I booked an infopass appointment so that I could send everything off as soon as the letter arrives. They advised me That They have requested 2 things:

    - A copy of my birth certificate (which was already sent)

    - An affidavit from my husband (the petitioner) - I sent an affidavit which was completed by my mother in law originally as my husband is self employed and his taxes etc are complicated. I wasn’t aware that I still had to send in an affidavit from my husband if I was using a co-sponsor?

Either way, I have all of his docs from when I needed them for my interview in the U.K.

I will be sending his affidavit, but I just wanted to know for those who used a co sponsor, did you still send an affidavit for your petitioner?

    Thanks

Hello there ! We did have a co sponsor but your husband is still the main one, so you do have to send an affidavit for him and a second one for your mother in law.

For the birth certificate it’s curious but I’ve seen that many times, probably got lost in all their papers but still 😅

thanks for the kind words... don't think it is encouraging though as i feel this time around, they are even worse..

after seeing how they were not educated on K1 and what comes with it when we had our appt in Charleston, I don't know how quick

they work on us.... especially after that main lady who talked to us was copying crosswords off a book and was doing the crosswords

at her desk without any shame!!!!

Wow that’s unbelievable !! So rude of her !! They absolutely have no shame .. I would have thought Charleston would be faster tho, I’m in Texas so even tho it’s ready scheduled it’s going to take ages ... 🙄🙄🙄

I really wish we could work on K1, I get their points but the wait is too long for the EAD even now .. how not to drive crazy ?! 😪

    hi guys,

sorry for my MIA! but.. it's been a tough month and I am starting to go crazy.

My Fingerprints appt was June 27th, we still don't have an update besides "fingerprint review completed",

no updates on nothing and no hope in sight... frustrating!!!

and reading how many of you already got updates for ready to be scheduled is honestly even more frustrating :(

not that i'm not happy for each of you cos i know we all go through the same ####### and we all have this forever wait....

but ughhh... this nonsense boring life with no job, no responsibility and not feeling needed in a job starts to get to me badly! :(

and with no job, and no incoming money, I feel like I am also so limited to go out explore and do things...

anyone else about to go crazy??? 🤸‍♀️

Hello there ! My appointment was Friday & ready to be scheduled too yesterday, sorry for you it hasn’t happened yet & I know it’s so annoying to hear that but : hold on there ! It’s happening for you too, I guess depending on where you’re based as well.

& I fell you I’m driving crazy too 😂😅 it’s been only a month & a half we filled for AOS & it feels like forever already, just wish to work already 😥

Have you guys received anything else for your case? We received his fingerprinting letting in the mail on Friday June 20th and he just had his appointment yesterday on the 30th. I did create an account online to check for status updates, but they all still show that they have received our case and it is pending, nothing updated on there since July 11th (our NOA1 date).

Hello ! I got my appointment letter for biometrics on July 20th as well but for me it’s this Friday the 3rd so for now everything is the same but I guess a few days after the appointment, the status should change online .. 🤔 Let us know please !

Hello. Our AOS packet was delivered at Chicago Lockbox on June 25, but up to this point, we have not received any NOA1 nor a charge on my credit card. Is the timeline normal?

It seems like it, I started to worry but I got mine last night by text & email. It seems like they really take their time 😅 hope you hear from them very soon. After a month, you can call them, if you don’t hear anything in the next few days !

Hey! Just wanted to let you know that I received my Form I-797C (Notice of Action) today! The notice date is printed for July 11th, so it looks like it's taking some time to actually get into our hands! I hope you both get movement on your cases soon too!

Good to hear that !! Glad you got it ! Hopefully tomorrow .. it starts to be long just for a notice 😅 any email or text still ? I wonder why sometimes they ask to complete an e-notification then ahah

Hey, Just wanted to let you know that I checked my account this morning and they cashed my checks! I haven't received an electronic alert yet, but at least some type of update since they received everything, 16 days later!

Thank you for letting me know, I've checked & they haven't for us yet ... Hopefully next week !

Please let me know whenever you get a notification ! I'm so glad I've "found" you who sent everything just a day before ahah makes me stay sane :jest:

Hey, I'm right there with you! We know from tracking number they received our AOS on June 27th at 10AM, but we have not had any NOA1, e-notifications or checks cashed!

Oh good ! That makes me feel better to know someone else is in the same situation, they got it the 28th a bit before 10am. Let me know if you hear something from them please 🤗 when you get anything, I might be next 😅

Also I remember a French girl interviewing in London a couple of years back who used to post a lot in this forum. She had no delays due to her country of origin.

That's good to know thank you. This process is already way too long 😅 Patience is key, I've been learning that now !

Appreciate a lot your help, many thanks !!

  18. Morning everyone !

was so happy to read y'all it makes me feel a bit less stressed 😅

My medical exam was in London, March 26th. My interview for the K1, April 13th. So I left about 3 weeks in between. BUT they told me they didn't have my medical yet .. so I asked if they wanted to see the papers Knightsbridge gave me & the officer replied that it might just be in the building (whaaat then find it damn it 😅).

I called Knightsbridge right away after the interview & they told me they sent it to the embassy on April 6th .. so it was at the embassy when I got the interview !!

The 13th right after my interview my status changed to AP .. so I can't wait to see the ISSUED part 😫 It's been less than a week I need to calm down I know but this whole process drive me kinda cray 😝

Any idea when I might get it ? Flying the 31st of May with my love as he's visiting in London so I wish we could go together home ..
