Wow, 2 years to make a decision is ridiculous! There's likely racial bias involved in your case due to you and your wife (if that's you guys on the photo) coming from different ethnical backgrounds. Was the interview smooth or rough?

It's time to file that N-400 and sue USCIS if needed!

Well first, as I've said we have already initiated the N-400 application this very evening. So I appreciate your concern. However I don't subscribe to the racist boogey man around every corner or facet of society. More likely this is the result of millions of illegals flooding the country and USCIS being overwhelmed managing this. In fact, our processing went through very fast compared to others. And this last stop the officer was the same race as myself and very helpful. We will see how well we do when the N-400 is submitted.

That is beyond unacceptable! And I wish it was illegal.

I'm truly sorry you're both going through this. Absolutely absurd to wait two years for a decision on removal of conditions after the interview. Did you file an e-request to inquire?

Hope they literally RUSH the N-400; it is the least they should do.

Sending all the best vibes for you and your wife.

    Thanks much appreciated.

  2. We are still awaiting  th final I-751 - Petition to Remove Conditions on my wife's Green Card. We initially applied for this June 2021. Already done the interview and biometrics, yet keep getting extensions. The first was a 2 year extension, that was due to expire June 2023. Today we received another one, but for 4 years years now. Beyond frustration and ridiculous. Is anyone else having this problem? Sorry rhetorical question. I see this is now endemic of a larger problem.

  3. I am not sure if anyone already answered this question, but does anyone know or have experience with a single mother who has a child under 8 years old, and who's father is a foreign national that left the Philippines and who doesn't support said child, need a permission letter or any documentation from Philippines government, in order to apply for the K2 visa? Asking for a friend who is beginning their K1 visa process.

  4. Thanks for explaining the AP process. It’s still a bit frustrating though. We’ve been waiting exactly 2 weeks now and was unsure why it’s taking awhile to finish. I see now we are far from alone. Given that my fiancé had to do the sputum check as well, it took us the extra 3 months to clear and get to the interview. Glad I didn’t buy tickets home yet. Best of luck to all.

  5. If they gave you the Domestic Violence and What to do in case of emergencies pamphlets along with keeping your passport, you are approved for the visa. I witnessed a few others who got a delayed decision to await further documentation or straight denial. We are still awaiting my fiancé passport back as well. And I do recall the CO’s telling applicants, including us, it can take 2-4 weeks to receive it back. We’re just over 2 weeks now and I’ve already called the Call Center to inquire. We are in Cebu so we chose to use 2Go Cebu as well. I know it’s nerve racking but just be patient. There’s hundreds if not thousands like us all going through the process, so it’s understandable they are backed up. Good luck and congrats.

  6. Hank thanks for the help, but visa reciprocity is not applicable for a K1. This is my second marriage using a K1. I was married before in 1997, and know the rules have changed. I'm needing up to date info. All earlier posts are too ambiguous, so I need to see if anyone recently has gone through this.

  7. I know this questions has been asked to death, but my fiance and I want to get a good handle on how to deal with it. We are still waiting for her interview date. She worked in Singapore and Taiwan previously. She worked first in Taiwan from 2009-2012. Followed next by working in Singapore for 6 months in 2014.

    1. Does anyone have any direct knowledge or experience in obtaining police clearances from these two countries?
    2. If so, what is the process and procedure for obtaining them?
    3. Does anyone know how the US Embassy handles this if you are unable to obtain the clearances? I.e., I've read earlier posts that it can be next to impossible to get it from Singapore. What is the best recommendation for this?
    4. How soon or how far in advance should we try to get them? I want to prepare for the interview process.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. We're doing ouer best to anticipate and prepare for everything, and I appreciate anyone's constructive input.

  8. Another option is to try to log into the DFA appointment system during the time they update appointments. 11pm-3am. It took us several tries but we finally scored an appointment for June 25, though have to go to Tacloban. We live in Cebu so it's a 1 hour flight. I still prefer that to paying "fixers" some ridiculous fee.

  9. Not sure if it's an option for you, but I know many/most wedding chapels in Las Vegas  give the ability to live stream your ceremony. This is the option I chose for my fiancé and myself as her family is in the Philippines and there's no chance they can visit. Check to see if any chapels in your area offer a similar service. Our package cost is $399 for everything including the live streaming. God luck

  10. As some here have alluded to, it also depends on which country your foreign fiancée resides in. Countries like the Philippines has the longest wait times. They are near the top in terms of number of K1 applications received, whereas a lot of Western Europe countries width lower migration rates are faster. But even still just depends on the luck of the draw. My first marriage to a Filipina living in Hong Kong took about 5 months start to finish. But that was 20 years ago. Had we processed in Manila it would've been considerably longer.

  11. There really is no way to short cut this process. You'll have to wait to receive the official packet from YOIR fiancée embassy. There's specific instructions and even specific doctors/medical partitioner you're allowed to have the medical conducted at. Those doctors follow a prescribed format and paperwork for the embassy and visa process. Each step is coordinated  to the visa consul timeline and steps. So best to try to hang in there a have some patience. It's a long and frustrating process as is. Try not to complicated it and cause yourself more delay.

  12. Just wanted to ask anyone on the Philippines forum about the CENOMAR requirement for those who have never been married in the Philippines. My filipina fiance has never been married and I was wondering if this form is still require, or what the specific requirements are to obtain on. I wasn't sure if there is some other proof provided in lieu of the CENOMAR or how it is handled.

  13. Yeah I'm getting the same info from a few others as well. So Manila it is then. Bye how long did she have to spend there processing everything? What was your total time start to finish? More than likely I'll go with her. This is the second time I've done a k1. Second marriage to a Filipina. My first was from Davao as well was married for 20 years that one but we did hers through Hong Kong. Hopefully this one will go smoothly as well.

  14. Thanks for the info msscarlette. I was very curious about that. It seems extremely inconvenient to have applicants go all the way to Manila to complete their processing but we will do what's needed. This is actually my second filing for a K1 visa. I am divorced after 21 years of marriage to another Filipina from Davao. However successfully processed and completed that one in Hong Kong where my ex-wife was living and working at that time. Processing was much faster and hassle free from this. But I do realize the many differences between Hong Kong and Manila. Well at least this time I get to see Manila as I'll probably accompany my new fiancé through her steps till interview. Thanks for all the help.
