Anyone here passed their n400 interview but can’t be approved yet due to pending I-751? My I-751 was filed in July, 2021 and was transferred to NBC in September, 2021.

I filed n400 September, 2022 and got interview was scheduled notice in January, 2023. Today 2/14/2023 I completed my interview.

Today I passed my n400 interview but the officer can’t get my oath ceremony scheduled yet because whoever has my case has to approve my i751 before I can get my oath ceremony. Is anyone on the same boat? I hope this won’t take too long :(

Similar situation here. Filed I-751 in July 2021, Attended N400 interview in November 2022, and passed the civics test The officer then realized my I-751 was at the Potomac Service center and said he'd have to have it transferred over to the local office. (which did happen) Was provided an  RFE, for which I submitted the documents before the December deadline. I've been waiting ever since. These delays are extremely frustrating!!!!

  2. Folks, I'm kinda in the same boat now. Filed for I-751 jointly last summer (2021), and our marriage is falling apart. We're about to get divorced but haven't made it official and are somehow managing to live together. As the CPR, do I just send a letter out to USCIS telling them I want to switch my jointly filed I-751 to a divorce waiver petition and wait for them to respond with an RFE? Really desperate for some help here. Thanks

  3. Filed for Removal of Conditions in July 2021 and am hoping it gets processed soon. Never had a biometrics appointment, and they updated the case status in January with existing biometrics on file. Receipt # begins with YSC (Vermont?) so I'm not sure how long it's gonna be. Hoping it gets processed by the end of this year.

I also filed for N400 last month and apparently they now adjudicate Citizenship filings within 10 months.

Congrats to everyone that has already had their I-751 approved!

  4. I entered on a K1 last year, filed for AOS in November 2018, and finally have my AOS interview scheduled for September 20. My wife had originally filed an affidavit of support as a part of the process and easily met, and exceeded the minimum financial requirements. However, things have changed and she is no longer working, as of a few days ago. I received my EAD/AP combo card in February 2019 and have been working since April. I earn considerably more than my spouse was earning, so how are we supposed to fill out the affidavit of support that needs to be brought to the interview? I'm wondering whether we need to filing a separate form or submitting an additional letter explaining the situation instead. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ok thank you. That’s what I thought. I’ve been reading on this forum that some countries it’s only valid up to 30 days...some 60 days. I will research some more. My husband needs police certificates from 2 different countries.

I can tell you that when I got my PCC from India and Kuwait, it explicitly mentioned how long it was valid for. The Kuwait one was only valid for 4 months, so I would highly recommend you verify with the appropriate agency in each country.

    1) my fiance has more than 5 addresses s in the last 5 yrs we list out all physical address.. Do not complicate it.. Just list it as long as you can remember

    2) my fiance has more than 10jobs in the last 5 yrs, same as item., because he moved from states to states.. We list all his job.. Do not complicate things just list everything..

For this..we use separate paper, mentioned the page number, part number and item no.

    3) no definitely do not recommend to use a lawyer or even those who agencies who will file for you.. You can do this on your own.. You want to get involved as much as possible so having a lawyer or  a paid assistance will get things slower on your end..

    Goodluck

I second everything mentioned by ourjourney_pc. Just list all addresses you resided and workplaces you worked at irrespective whether you had a lease or employment letter. You probably shouldn't mention two addresses for the same time period. If you were a student over the past 5 years then definitely mention that in your employment history. There is no need for a lawyer unless you have a criminal record or for any other reason that you believe necessitates getting one.

    Best of luck!

I'm not going to expedite as my sister-in-law is hoping I'll have my EAD by end of May so she can pay me to look after her kids for all summer break. It should be gorgeous weather here by then hopefully. So for me, I don't want to do anything aside right now but get my DL which is keeping me busy enough LOL!! Although, the extra cash beforehand would be nice! One can dream :P

Hahaha that's great! You're getting a taste of the DMV experience I see. It can be quite annoying but it will all be worth it in the end👍

I personally think you shouldn't expedite another job offer. I think they'll get the point. I mean they are probably up to their eyes as many do try their luck with expedites. I think you should just be a little more patient lol. Think of all us non expedites having to wait forever :P

Haha I get your point, I'll definitely try to be patient. It's just that the job offers are extremely good and it would be terrible to lose out on either one. I have already stopped job hunting due to how slow USCIS seems to process applications.

we have sent a Cover Letter stating that my husband lost his second job and that we are experiencing difficulties with dental care for my son, we sent my Job offer, my husband’s termination Letter from the second (not primary one) job, dental treatment expences for my son who is covered by my husband’s insurance and showed all receipts and sent the future dental treatment recommended by Dental Clinic.

We did not involve any Congressmen.

What is more my k1 took super long time (longer than any other applicants’ k1) and we hired a lawyer who ###### the case up on k1.

This time for AOS and EAD we filed and applied without any lawyer and it got better lol

But also we did not apply for AP which maybe could help as probably it took less time for them to put all files together and process less papers... who knows what is on their mind really...

i wish everyone to get their EAD soon!

    😁

    Congratulations!

I'm glad it worked out for you. I tried to expedite my EAD based on a job offer on January 9, faxed over the documents on the 10th after receiving an e-mail from USCIS and am still waiting on a decision. Had two senators offices contact USCIS and that hasn't helped either. I even faxed over a second offer letter I received last week hoping they grant it asap.

At this point does anyone think it would be a better idea to contact USCIS and raise a new,, separate expedite case for the new job offer and see if that helps? What do you all think?

  10. If I were in your situation, I'd opt for the K1 as it's the better option in the long run. You'd get your GC within the year and you'd be stress free going forward. No worrying about visas, travel restrictions, employment eligibility etc.

I would love to hear someone else's opinions on why H1B would be the better option. I'm sure there are valid reasons to go that route.

    Hello All,

Recently people who have traveled to US after K1 approval did you have any problem while going from India because of a one way ticket? I have heard airlines staff create a problem because of the one way ticket?

Not at all, they do not expect you to have a return ticket booked. If they ask, you can simply explain it is a Fiance visa

    Hi All,

Once the visa is approved by the CO in Mumbai, do we have the option of being able to pick it up along with out passport they hold onto ourselves or it has to be delivered to us via courier?

    Thanks!

You can choose to have it delivered or pick from a list of Dropbox locations around the country. You make your selection on the ustraveldocs website while booking your appointments.

    Hi

I wanted to you one thing - when the US Petitioner goes with the beneficiary for the interview - do they need to do something in specific to go inside for the interview?

When you'rein line and about to enter the consulate, they'll ask who the  petitioner is and who is the beneficiary is, and allow you both to enter. You don't have to do anything different. Please don't bring the CD from your medical with you as they won't let it through security. Also, only the beneficiary is allowed at the window during the interview, while the petitioner will have to remain seated in the waiting area.  Best of luck!

Another quick question - the USCIS website says that you have to bring the fee receipt payment. I paid via NEFT through my bank account and the MRV receipt got activated, So what proof I am supposed to take?

Well, the CO never even asked me for it, but I did bring along the page that had the information provided to me to make the payment (which had the Unique Beneficiary Account Number). See attached.image.thumb.png.348e9b72f2ae2ed0946777d8471e1612.png

    Hello,

People who have had their interview at Mumbai recently, are there any lockers available to keep mobile phones etc outside the Embassy or not?

No lockers. You could ask one of the 5-star hotels around to do you a favor, but unlike the place where you do the Biometrics appointment, there's noone offering locker services outside the Consulate.
