Yes. He submitted the ds160,so we are going to pay the visa,....but why cant he  the medical until the case is at the embassy?

I tried to get ours done before it said Ready and they wouldn't let him. The doctor calls the embassy to make sure your case is there if you dont bring the letter. I dont know why they won't let you do it before.

Thank you so much. I will follow all the instructions. I love the fact that we are helping each other through this process. I will keep you updated

No problem. Forgot to mention that you can submit ds160 and pay for visa to schedule interview before it says "Ready" as that is what i did, just make sure you give it enough time in between for consulate to receive. Follow my timeline and others to get an idea of how long it takes for consulate to receive.

I just call NVC and they give me a case# and invoice ID#. Please can you guys tell me exactly what to do next. I'm afraid I will make mistakes

First...if you haven't already, check your case status by entering your new case # here https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx It will either say "AT NVC, IN TRANSIT, or READY". "READY" is the key word you are looking for which indicates that your file has been entered into the consulates database.

Second...Fill out the Ds160 form online for your fiance but DO NOT submit it. It must be signed and submitted online by your fiance in Haiti (they can go to like a cyber cafe if no access to a computer at home) Make Sure all info on form is correct then save it and give fiance application id so they can access it to submit it and print confirmation page after. https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx

Third...Pay for Visa. Follow the instructions on how to pay your visa fee ( http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ht/ht-niv-paymentinfo.asp ) After you pay the fee at SogExpress, the next day you will be able to schedule the interview (you will get email notification). Then immediately request packet 3 by email (support-haiti@ustraveldocs.com) .

Fourth... Once you received packet 3 letter and instructions schedule medical.

As for obtaining police certificate im going to let @Sej handle this one as its the only step i havent completed (if you want to know why then you'll have to read through this thread to find out lol)

Epi thats 7... Wait for interview!!!

Yes you guys are correct I just know our noa2 expires in June and our wedding is June 2nd. We chose that wedding day because if I case expires the next week after that day we thought for sure he would be here by then we waited till the last minute possible to schedule our wedding and I took your advice and I called NVC and they said it looks like Dominican Republic transferred it no matter what he cannot have his interview and Dominican Republic because he don't have residency there so I do know he won't have his interview there so that's why we wanted to go ahead and pay the fees yes he signed it I filled it out but he went over it and find it I just want everything done so when the transfer does happen w mostly everything is already completed

Ok good at least you got word from nvc that it is in fact being transfered. It's really up to you at this point. So you are saying he already submitted the ds160? If so then all you have to do is pay for the visa but you cant schedule medical until case is at embassy.

I was hoping you would btw lol.

But @Kween I know you want things to move along but where you are at is kind of tricky and doing things early doesn’t necessarily mean good. I hate to be negative but the reality is you don’t know where your case is and you can’t be sure they won’t force your fiance to travel to the DR for the interview, without those uncertainties I would definitely recommend paying the visa and get an interview date but if the worse happens and they don’t want to send it to Haiti then you will lose the money. But if you pay the visa in Haiti and schedule your interview it’s ok because you can change that interview date up to 3 times. So yes if you are @Dee & Claudy you can take that leap of faith and pay for your visa to reserve your interview date but that won’t mean you can do medical either sometime they actually need the letter from the embassy which is in packet 3, but I believe they also have done it without packet 3.  So if you know for a fact that it’s going to Haiti go ahead because you can choose your interview date and if your case is not there by then you can move it up until it’s there. You can’t sign ds-160 for ur fiancee he has to do it online. I filled it out and my fiance signed it, using a phone. And then you can print the slip and pay for the visa if you haven’t already.  So it’s ur choices don’t be too hasty make sure you do things properly this way you don’t make mistakes and ur fiance will be here no matter how long it takes.  And guys don’t forget sure you will have your love one by your side but the process is not over don’t just throw money at these people because we still have a lot of paying to do.

Amen. But @Kween i feel you girl, ive been so impatient throughout this process. And it really sucks that they did this to you when you are so close. But @Sej is right you really dont want to waste money when theres so much more we got to pay once they get here.

Looking for advice....k1 Visa....As most of you all know.  My fiance is from Haiti and he lives in Haiti. However, his file was sent to Dominican Republic,we put in a request for our file to be transferred on March 6th,nothing happened. Then again March 12th and Haiti requested the file as well same day. Then on ceac website it has transfer in progress on 12th and as of today March 22nd it still says transfer in progress. Sent a request to Haiti for update on March 17th,got a response on March 19th from Haiti stating they dont have it,and they requested the case again as I Did as well.....what I need advice on is,..we did his ds160 on Haiti profile, and the interviews are getting further and further away,so I want to pay for the ds160 to book the interview so we can have a date locked in,i know once it transfers to ready in Haiti i may have to pay again. That is a chance im willing to take...i just want him to get his interview date, and get his medical done so when it does transfer it will be all done already. Our Noa2 expires in June so I'm trying to cut down time...please tell me what you all would do in my shoes...and if you have any information(that you know for sure) on this please let me know. Also,if you know how to get noa2 expiration date to expand please let me know. Thank you

Hmmm this is a tough one. Hopefully @Sej can help (very informative). Did you call NVC and see if they could answer that ? and what did embassy have to say about the transfer time. Cant see why its taking so long. BTW you dont pay for the DS160 your fiance has to submit it in Haiti. You can fill it out for him though. You pay for the visa to schedule interview.

Yayyyy...Witch DR did he go-to? How much total for everthing? How long to get results? Did he do xray and everything same day?.....thank you

Dr. Jude the first one listed on the k1 packet 3 instructions. Everything was $440 including vaccines. The xray was done i think last week or the week before and they told him to come back today to finish with bloodwork and vaccines. He got results around 2pm. He was there since 9am. (Overall i didnt like how they scheduled him to come in 2 business days before interview, but they got it done and thats what really matters)

He arrived at 6:40 this morning and he left at 9. I believe 7 am is everyone’s interview time because he said that the line was really long. No they didn’t ask for any of my financials or the aos but I say still bring it just in case.

What were all documents or evidence of relationship did they ask him for?

I am soooo sorry to bother you but do you know the email or phone number of where I need to ask for the packet 3? He's paying for the interview today.

No worries. Thats what this group/site is for. We are here to help each other to make this visa process easier and less stressful. The email is

support-haiti@ustraveldocs.com. They will get back to you within 1 to 2 business days.

So our interview (his interview) was this morning. He arrived at 7 am, which is by the way everyone’s interview time. And it went well! We were approved, he said they didn’t even ask him 6 questions. How we met? Have we seen each other? My siblings? Where he will be staying? And I believe that’s it. They didn’t ask for police records only the medical information. They told him his passport would be at DHL in a week :) . Please ask me any questions you have and I’ll get an answer from him lol.

Please let us know exactly when you receive notification to pick up your passport. (I already booked my fiances ticket and gave an 8 business day window to receive it) hopefully it comes in 5 lol

So how long was he at the embassy... from 7am til? And did they ask for affidavit of support?

    Hello,

I have brief question. Our file was receive at the Embassy in Haiti. I did do the DS 160. Now do I wait for the embassy to send me mail with the interview date or do we have to pay for the interview date?

No dont wait! Time is precious lol. follow the instructions on how to pay your visa fee ( http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ht/ht-niv-paymentinfo.asp ) After you pay the fee at SogeExpress, the next day you will be able to schedule the interview (you will get email notification). Then immediately request packet 3 by email. Since your case is at embassy you can go schedule medical without waiting for packet 3 letter. Just show them that it says "Ready" from case tracker. Obtaining the police certificate is up for debate on this thread. It is recommended to do all possible to get it because no one can seem to get a definitive answer as to whether its needed in Haiti. Good Luck!

Yes you don’t really have a choice they take about 10-11 days to give you the certificate even if done on monday you wouldn’t be able to get it at normal processing time and I doubt they would do an emergency one since the machine broke for a while and a lot of people would be asking for an emergency one. So even if he goes without he has a valid reason for the embassy, and I am sure other people will have the same problem too. It’s almost time for the interview anyway I am excited for mine but also nervous but I have done everything I could up to this point, I even made a nice folder which have everything they need or might need.

What time is your interview? Mine is 7am.

Yes it’s a pain but it’s worth it, if you don’t have it they will not deny you they’ll just tell you to get it although I doubt that they will make a big fuss. But you definitely need the I-134 even if they didn’t ask for it.

So he went for the fourth and final time on friday and of course the machine was still broken lol. And one of the officers said if its still broken today it probably wont be fixed by monday either. So we are going without it. Fingers crossed they dont ask for it. We only have a week left till interview day.
