I haven't posted here before (although I've been reading for years) but just wanted to chime in with a California Service Center update since there seem to be so few from there. My husband filed for his I-751 on April 13th and just today got the letter indicating his biometrics have been waived.

Also recently received our biometrics waiver via California Service Center. Filed I-751 on 4/17 and was a little concerned about not receiving an update in the midst of everyone from the other Service Centers receiving theirs way earlier. Glad to finally get passed this hurdle, on to the next!

Civil Surgeon is going to be more expensive than your private doctor( Unless your doctor is in Beverly Hills or something) There are only a few Civil Surgeons in each city and they all know if you are coming to them they will charge like they are the only ones that can do vaccinations. I recommend getting vaccinations wherever you can get the best deal. Your private doctor, there are travel vaccination clinics in every city just about that do all types of vaccinations but they too are a little on the high side. Sometimes an Urgent Care will cut a deal either with your insurance or if you cash pay. Best bet is to find a Red Cross office and give them a call and see if they can do it or recommend a place to get them done. Sometimes local health departments do a lot of vaccinations and are very reasonable. Call your local elementary or middle school and talk to the school nurse, all children are pretty much required to get all of the same vaccines you need to attend school here in the US, so she may have a suggestion of where to get them done cheap.

You may be stuck going back to the Civil Surgeon to get your I693 filled out, but if you have all your vaccination records some of them will just transcribe them onto the new form and sign off on your I693 without having to do a whole exam to the tune of 300 Plus dollars. They may only charge you a 100 or so. Just make some calls and see what you can find out. Not sure if you are close to the boarder, but if you can get into Mexico you can get vaccinations on the cheap. Obviously don't travel without your AP/EAD being approved, but depending on timing you may be able to do a Mexico Vacation/ Honeymoon/ Getaway, and get the vaccinations you need done while there.

If you only got the first series though the second set should be done within about a month of the first, then the last of the 3 shot series should be done 6 months after the 2nd round. Granted after you get the second shot series your up to about 80% immunity for most of the 3 shot series vaccinations and the last one is just a booster.

wow, thanks for your long reply, it is very helpful, thanks a lot, hope you have great day!

You go to the doctor recommended by the USCIS. https://my.uscis.gov/findadoctor

I saw " You are encouraged to follow up with your private health care provider to complete the series. Once you have received the single dose appropriate at the time, the civil surgeon can sign and certify the Form I-693." Doesnt it mean I could go to our private doctor though?

  4. Hey guys, I am really confused about how can I get my second dose vaccination in USA. I am desperately looking for your help.

I had my medical exam before I got my visa, of course, I also had my first dose vaccination (3 kinds) too. My medical exam package was kept by customs when I arrive in US. Now, I have only a yellow book which is the record book of me getting my first dose in China, and DS-3025 form, and a white paper which is also the record of my first dose vaccination.

Our plan is we get married first, and he will add me to his medical plan, but I have a question, can we go to his doctor to get the second vac or we have to go to the civil surgeon? what document should we prepare?

    🤤 yes pleaseeeeeee

I'm really good at eating...not as good at cooking....

have I mentioned I'm already passed the point of using my initial wedding dress?? Uscis should pay for that....

I'm in the same boat about the eating/cooking part. Thankfully my fiancee loves to cook, and the trade off is I am in charge of washing the dishes.

That's terrible about the wasted wedding dress expense... I am sure USCIS is to blame for many cancelled wedding plans and reservations...

You can track your case if you have the number.

    For me for example;

i can start taking my appointments if I just know the number.

and I need to change my address in the embassy stage so for that too I need the number.

or just to ease the anxiety and to be able to see if there's a problem with the case (some cases take longer and you may need to take action)

Speaking of changing addresses, my beneficiary has moved since we submitted our I129f. Do you recommend calling the NVC once they receive our case and generate our CaseID, or the embassy once they receive our case? Or is it not necessary at all? I am just concerned that she won't receive her Packet 3. Although some people say the P3 is sent via email only. Do you know if that is true?

    It is shared daily..

but not twice a day because they are usually in the middle of the updates and it just cuts through it.

But if youre sept 5, yours is already touched so you just need to wait.

    so I can check on https://drive.google.com/open?id=1zmQyaE3WmFkj-XuKjlZawm2BfFPwIVRx    ?

But I dont see my case number on this site, sorry, I am new here, so it might be a dumb question to ask....

He wont re-apply for that.  He has children in Jamaica and he showed proof of his parental responsibility.  In addition to children, he is owns land and is building a house on his property.  We have discussed getting his son here but we both agree he is better off in Jamaica finishing school as their school system is better than Texas' school system. He (we) have every intention of returning.  We wants to come here for a year or so, work and wait for my retirement then we will move to Jamaica and live.  Will the fact he has children hinder this process?  I am new to all this and have tons of questions.

Strange. That sounds like an abundance of evidence for his ties to his home country. There must be some other reason for the denial beyond what we know. It really is unfortunate more information isn't given at the time of the denial.

If you are going the K1 route, you will need to know that it carries a bit more risk as far as denials go, specifically if the foreign country has a high fraud rate. If you go the CR1 route, you should first consider Jamaica's marriage requirements/laws.

Thanks for the info.  I personally want him here faster but not wild about the higher expense.  He applied for Visa early February and went to the interview where they asked him 2  questions, where are you going and who are you staying with.  He was denied and told to "try later".  Do you know how soon he could apply again?  He was told 3 months however I've heard he can re-apply any time as long as he pays the $250 fee.

I wouldn't have him reapply for the tourist visa again. If he was denied the first time, it was probably because he told them he was going to be staying with you (his fiance) and that raised a red flag for them. They are typically trying to determine if he has any significant reasons for wanting to stay in the US illegally and not returning back to his home country before the visa expiration. Having a fiance to stay with would be a great reason not to go back home, thus the denial (in my opinion). Because of this, if he applies again without changing any of these circumstances he will likely just be denied again and wasting another application fee.

I would go the CR1 route as suggested above if you can handle a few extra months of waiting with greater reward in the long run.

  10. Don't worry, you are on the same track as many others. The 5 to 6 month waiting period for the NOA2 is normal and expected. It may have been slightly faster in the past but recently this is a typical amount of time for them to process your I129f. I am currently waiting on my NOA2 as well and I submitted mine on September 5th (178 days ago). I am expecting to receive some kind of update soon, either an approval (hopefully) or an RFE (Request For Evidence), which is only a minor speed bump that is usually easily dealt with.

When you get closer to the time you expect to receive the NOA2, the beneficiary can work on getting things like vaccination records for the medical exam and police certificate. I have heard of some instances where it took people a month or even two to obtain the police cert.

Once you do get the NOA2, start on your I134 and DS-160 forms/documentation. Don't forget to sign new letters of intent to marry and gather further evidence of ongoing relationship.

    Good luck!
