I finally received an email 10 days ago saying that our I-130 was approved. The app also states the same. Will there be another email sent once it's sent to NVC or should I start calling NVC now to see if they received it and can give me the case number?

Yes you can start calling NVC to see if they have a case number for you. I have been calling but they have no case number for me yet. They said it can take upto 6 weeks but it doesn’t do harm to call them because you can start right away after they asign you a case number.

    Hi Everyone,

My I-130 was received on the 10th of March. Since then we haven't heard anything. Is there any way to find out what is going on? the fact that they are processing April and ours has not been approved yet I am starting to worry.

Is there anything I can do besides sit and wait?

You can call the center and ask to speak with tier 2 representative to inquire about your case. I am also waiting 3/28 Texas but all they told me is that it takes time

A lot of approvals could be caught up in the Christmas post.

I would suggest making a phone call to USCIS at 1800-375-5283.  My wife phoned yesterday and when she got though she just said she was told to speak to a tier 2 representative. The guy said no problem and transferred our call, got the automated service asking if she would like a call back to the number she dialed from and answered yes. The automated service said 62 minutes and right on time she got a call back.

The tier 2 guy seemed surprised and said the approval was only given a few days ago and he would have no further information for us as its too soon. I think he was under the impression we wanted something else, we just wanted to know if the I-30 was approved.

It's just nice to know you have the approval, I am more than happy to wait for the notice when it arrives.

So they called back after 68 minutes and it was no help at all. In fact she kind of seemed rude. She said the same thing that the processing time is still Feb 2nd for Texas and it could take 1-2 months to get to March. Such bullshit. This is so frustrating.

I just wanted to say to you and others waiting I feel your heartache! I found once I hit 8 months the process really started to mess with my head. Once I hit 9 months I  hit an emotional wall. If you are really close to your spouse as I am these months apart are very difficult. I think what's hard with waiting for the i130 is having no idea if they still have your file, wondering if you will get hit with an RFE and not knowing exactly when the approval will happen. How does anyone plan their life when you have no idea?

It will be a bumpy ride for some of you as you watch others with a priority date later than yours get approved. I was happy for the approvals but every time I would see another approval the process messed with my head. I would think is there a problem with my file? Why is mine not approved yet?

You can always refer your spouse to this page and he can see all the frustration. I wish US immigration would find a way to expedite all applications that have spouses living countries apart.

You can also file an inquiry if you do not get a response after they are beyond the processing time of your PD
