Ok thanks. Sorry if this has already been covered but what do you say to get to speak to someone?
I get stuck in an endless loop of being asked for a receipt number and if I give it I just get the message that my interview was canceled!
Just say, "Info Pass". And you'll get a live agent.

Which number did you call? I may wait until next week as I have a trip planned and the original interview date and the week after would result in me needing to change the date anyway!

Great news. I was not rescheduled so maybe calling did the trick. Did you just ask about your case or do something specific? Did they indicate on the call that they would reschedule you?
I just asked them how long would take for them to re-schedule my wife's interview. The young lady said, " It should be pretty quick ", then she hung up abruptly. I thought she was just telling me that to get rid of me. Try it, you never know what can happen.

My N-400 interview was cancelled by USCIS and re-scheduled within a couple of weeks. I did call them though.....

I had the same issue. I’m a Jan filer in Houston - got notice on Thursday eve last week that interview was scheduled. Friday morning they canceled it.
Must be something to do with the crazy weather last weekWow! I hope we are re-scheduled soon. Keep me posted and I'll do the same.

How soon are they re scheduled?
Usually 3 weeks to a year. In my earlier case it took 3 weeks.

What are the reasons they do that?
It could be staffing issues, mistakes made with scheduling, issues with paperwork submitted. Some people go through this process without any big problems but others are caught up in the glitches of their system. I've called several times over my process and I get the same song, " You just have to wait ".

We have had floods. Did you call and find out? I hope my Oath is not cancelled.
I didn't call them. My I-485 interview was cancelled a few years ago so this is how they operate. Last time they just re-scheduled it. Oh well.....

Why?
The notice said, " Due to unforeseen circumstances we are cancelling the interview ". I think it has something to do with the flooding but not sure. Oh well....

USCIS just cancelled the N-400 interview. Oh well, good way to spoil the day.🤔

Don't worry, you're almost there
Average processing time for Houston is currently 8 months.
https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/
What does this processing time mean?
We generally process cases in the order we receive them. This processing time is based on how long it took us to complete 80% of adjudicated cases over the past six months. Each case is unique, and some cases may take longer than others. Processing times should be used as a reference point, not an absolute measure of how long your case will take to be completed
Thank you! I appreciate the response.

Filed online for N400 on Dec 21 and also got biometric reuse right away. It's been stuck on "Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS" for almost 50 days now
My case has been stuck on "Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS" for 86 days. Looks like I'm in for a long wait.......
