    Hi!! Can I do an uncontested divorce if my ex husband does not sign the papers? I was going to send a certified mail and I'm sure he is not answering within 35 days - that's the required wait time in NJ court. I really don't want to contact or see him to get the papers signed but I really want to get this done. Thank you.

    I have my interview soon and the lawyer who is coming with me is really freaking me out saying they might deny or put my case on hold because I’m not divorced from the abuser. “If he was that bad you would be divorced by now”. Is this true? I didn’t get divorced because I don’t know where my ex is and I was very scared to look after him. My plan was to start dealing with that after I have my document and feel more confident about myself. Please share your thoughts. Thank you I forgot to mention that he is not the lawyer in my case - he is only coming to the interview with me

    Do we need to bring our taxes for interview? I never got divorced because I'm scared to contact my ex, but I just realized my last tax was wrongly filled SINGLE by my accountant Is this a problem??? I'm so nervous

    HELP needed! I need a lawyer/attorney to attend interview with me - I’m in NJ Do you guys have anyone to recommend? I found one but he is charging $250 for consultation + $650 for coming to the interview. Is this a normal price range? thank you!

    That is what happened to me as well. I remember we even chatted about it. My Vawa ended up being approved in September 2023 and I did get the card and the approval letter - I'm a November 2017 filler! Still haven't gotten the GC. My I485 did not move since vawa approval

    Good morning! I have decided I'm going to send my medicals without them asking. I literally sent my files in November 2017, I'm so over this process. It took almost 7 years ( I don't know why ) to get my VAWA approved (september 2023), I don't have any court, came with a visa, no criminal record etc So at this point I have nothing to lose by sending my medical lol - when I call USCIS they say the last update was Biometrics done back in September and no other update since then Should I just sent it along with my 485 receipt only or should I write a letter saying more information? Also sometimes I feel like just sending a new I485 with my vawa approval. What do you guys think about that? Thank you

    Info pass to my local office and they told me the file is in Vermont going through the "checks"

    Vermont still have my file after 6 months of my vawa approval

    After vawa approval, does Vermont ALWAYS forward the case to another office or sometimes they can review it by themselves? Because that is what an USCIS officer told me and also someone else, that who will process my I485 is Vermont and not NBC or my local office

    Thanks! My renewal was sent to Vermont but they forwarded to Texas and I have no idea why. Processing time in Texas is even longer ☹️
