Well I want to be the first to tell you Congratulations on the visa. Now on to the matter of getting into the USA through the POE.
Yes, you are correct a Non-USC can be stopped and turned away at the POE to the USA. But for instances like K1 and Cr-1 visas it is really rare for anyone to be turned away at the border. Since you are immigrating to the USA it is perfectly fine to have a one way flight to the USA because you are going there to be with your SO. It is also fine to have a round trip ticket as well because in some instances those may be cheaper than a one way ticket.
Thank you soooo much it was a long and hard journey but we made it
and thas great thank you ! I would hate to get this far after all my hard work and then to BE turned away at POE

When you enter on your spouse visa, they won't even ask if you have a return ticket. You are not a tourist.
Okay thank you

Soooo after a year and half Of stress and worry ! I have finally been granted my immigrant cr1 visa !!! I was so pleased and excited as I haven't seen my husband for 8 months !
I just have one last thing i need to ask .. I was reading that despite having my visa, I can still be stopped at the boarder and it's the boarder controls decisions if I am actually allowed in or not despite waiting all this time and paying out all this money .... whilst that's is the way it goes and I expected that it's lame thatbis the case and I am still scared that may happen !
What I wanted to ask was regarding my flight ... I will obviously be going there to stay and I was hoping I am able to book a one way flight ! If I do this they can they stop me at the boarder for this reason ? BeCause I am obviously not planning to come home any time soon ! Hence the reason I got my visa ...
thanks for all your advice and support over my tone of applyong applying for the visa

I would stay away from “guessing” when it comes to dealing with important documents. I always read instructions multiple times until I understand it, and then I read it again.
Okay I didn't mean that how it came across... 🙈 I have spent month and month preparing my file for this !! I just ask for some guidance and help with a document that's all I am not here to be told how important this is , considering I know this ! And seen as it's taken us over a year to get to this point a lot or stress and hard work but thanks for pointing that out to me ...

Note that there is an "or" in that request AND an "if you cannot..".
Supply a tax return transcript OR a complete tax return including W2 and 1099 forms AND all schedules. They are just describing what a complete tax return would include.
Yes !! I saw that on the first part when it talkes about the tax transcript however the schedules is on a separate line with a x next to it so I was guessing this is something they still require even with the IRS transcript ...?

Exactly and any supporting schedules that are attached to his 1040
Would he have received that 1040 in the post when he has filed taxes ? Thank you

I think every USC taxpayer understands that the tax return is the Form 1040 or any of its derivatives.
It's confusing to me as I am from the U.K. But I know what you are saying so it's form 1040 along with w2s right ...
-
I understand what you are saying and we were having trouble getting the IRS transcripts so that is why we went for the other option ...he said to me that he thought his w2s were his tax returns as
they hold all the information of his annual income ... :/

Hello
my my husband and I are almost done with submitting all the paper work we need for the final part of our I-130 required documents .. but we are really baffled by one aspect regarding the Financial evidence for the I-864 ...
when it talks about submitting IRS tax transcripts as evidence to supprt your AOS package .. you also get the alternative choice if you can't access this transcript .. this is to submit a photocopy of IRS federal income tax returns and w2s ...however my husband was a little confused as he said his w2s are technically his federal tax returns and have all his yearly income details but it seems like it is asking for two things as an alternative to the IRS TAX TRANSCRIPT ... so we were unsure if the w2s alone would suffice ???
Please help ! We called the customer service but they were really unhelpful

Hello
After receiving our NOA2 11/11/17. I read on my USCIS case online they have forwarded the paperwork to the NVC on the 14th NOV. How long have people waited to get case number after receiving NOA2? . I was going to call next week to ask them if my case number was available.
Thank you

I am doing the same- renewing my passport while the process - dont forget to bring old and new passport to the embassy for interview.
And i think that the new passport number should be written in form DS-260 - i think thats nvc.
But I won't have my old passport as you have to send it back when renewing ? Do they send old passport back to you ?

I completely agree with Wuozopo, renew your passport while still in UK and avoid all sorts of hassles and challenges with many processes ahead.. Having all your documents with consistent last name is so much easier than the other options... And when you do move, make sure you have multiple originals of other UK documents such as birth certificate and marriage certificate (if married in UK) as it takes longer to get them from overseas and you will need them for all sorts of th ings over the next years. We left Australia with 5 originals of all these documents.. yea an expense at the time, but worth it!
Okay thank you and I was married in the United States not the UK

Your visa will have to match the passport name. Your greencard will match the visa. Changing the greencard name later costs around $400.
What is the main reason you don't want your passport, visa, and greencard to match?
- You want to continue to book international airline tickets in your maiden name despite having everything else in your married name.
- The cost? It will cost you £30 more renewing from the US.
- The bother? You'll have to mail your passport back to the U.K. and wait longer for renewal, plus figure out where to get U.K. passport size photos taken in the US.
Considering you will get 10 more years plus some additional time for your unexpired portion, it really will make things easier to renew while you're still in the country.
Okay so I wasn't stating I don't want my passport, visa and green card to match what I was saying was the reason I didn't change my passport was because I'm the UK i am legally able to keep my passport under my maiden name unti it expires as long as any revalue is booked under this name so what I was saying was .... now this visa process has come along would I need to have my passport in my married name that's all there was no reasons why I wouldn't want this apart from it been legal here in the UK to keep a maiden name until it expires that's all
-
I am way ahead of myself here as we have just received our NOA2 howverr , my current UK passport is under my maiden name still as, I have until 2020 until it expires and when I married my husband I didn't change it because I was told I can have it legally until it expires ... However I was thinking when it comes to finally receiving the immigrant visa which, will be inside my passport and in my married name will this cause an issue at the port of entry regarding my passport still been in my maiden name ?
I will have documents to prove my marriage etc etc but I just didn't know if it's worth changing my passport over now whilst we are going through the visa process ? I though it may not be an issue if I can just keep it as my maiden name on my passport as long as this is stated on my visa application as my previous name before getting married surely this will not be a problem ... but I thought I would ask if anyone maybe knew the answer before things start moving forward once we receive our case number for our visa application .
Thank you

Sooooo today we got our NOA2 and we got approved which is super exciting we have being waiting 10 months and it's been pretty stressful . My husband got a letter to his home in the USA . I am in England and waiting on the next part to be completed and moving forward ... can anyone give me any advice as to what happens now ... they said in the letter they will contact my husband in 30 days ... I know it's down to me to complete certain aspects of my visa now ... so I just kind of wondered what happens now .. do I need to call for my case number etc ... or is is best to wait to be contacted via letter myself ... it's all so confusing I have read the guides on here I just wanna make sure I'm doing the right thing . Soooo happy to be approved though 😊😊😊😊😊

I noticed a few RFEs sent to February 8th filers (I saw around 500 cases)
so it might mean that we will hopefully hear something in November
Nebraska really screwed us over.
I actually quoted my date wrong its Feb 4th. so I really hope we do hear something soon . Sorry what does RFE stand for ? Also does my husband as the petitioner receive the innitial notice of my NOA2 via email ? Before the inform me of anything ?

Sundee,
I'm fully aware of this. I'm also aware that the chances of that happening are slim. Call me foolish, but I'm hopeful and have faith. Perhaps, we'll be one of the lucky ones. Some people have been approved from January.
I can't keep going with a pessimistic approach. This wait is physically sickening me. So. I need to be foolish and positive.
Don't worry. I'll cross my fingers for you too.
I agree got to keep the positive vibes flowing and hopes need to be high <3 hope everyone gets replies through soon .. for all those who have been feeling the strain of the wait too I feel ya
