Moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures.

So it’s fine for me the alien relative aka spouse to travel to the US while the CR1 is is being processed does it matter at what stage or no?

Yes, you can.  Just be prepared to convince the border officers that you will return to your country after the visit.

Hi! So far I've done it twice during my application process. 4 times in total since we got married. I've had no issues. Make sure you have a return flight booked. If you're really concerned, you can get a letter from your employer stating you have to return to work by a certain date. Know exactly what address you'll be staying at, how many days, and know the previous dates you've visited the United States- also knowing how many days those trips were.

I've never been denied entry, but definitely asked those questions. BE HONEST at the border. Tell them you'll be visiting your spouse.

    Hope this helps!

thank you for your response im looking to surprise my wife for her birthday and spend christmas with her and her family so il be there for 10 days did they ask alot of questions when you visited after being married?

Yes, it will be enough coming from the UK.  Skip the affidavits though, and really go minimal on call logs.  Print your photos 9 per page on plain full sheets of paper.  Three sheets of 9 is plenty.  Concentrate on evidence of time spent together in person.

what should we send in our packet? :)

  5. Hey Guys we need some advice

so me and my wife got married on the 9th of February 2019 in Long beach and now i am back in the UK and we will start the visa process I-130 (CR1) soon.

    Now we want some help

    * we have a ton of photos from when we met 2016 to now 2019 (Wedding photos, trips to Rome, Edinburgh, Seville, Los Angeles (Disneyland) and Las Vegas, London and San Francisco) and also pictures with family members and friends

    * call records from facetime and whats app

    * we can get affidavits from family members from both sides

    * flight itineraries with both our names on it for our trips

but what we don't have is

    * a joint bank account

    * joint tenancy since she lives in the USA and i live in the UK

will this be enough? or would we need more we are bit worried because we saw people talking about joint accounts and joint tenancy for evidence

    • It should be fine (in context of immigration) and as you well know about it, if they bring it up on your interview, you should be able to address their questions.
    • Normally the crime was toward child/underage + sexual related (AWA case) is very close to impossible to get a waive for the petition.

thank you i was getting abit worried
