I've never seen this on an episode of cops
That is demeaning to Victims of Domestic Violence. It took police telling me what I was going through was domestic violence before I could admit what I was experiencing wasn't normal in a healthy relationship.
"In an abusive relationship, the abuser may use a number of tactics other than physical violence in order to maintain power and control over his or her partner:
Emotional and verbal abuse:
Survivors of domestic violence recount stories of put-downs, public humiliation, name-calling, mind games and manipulation by their partners. Many say that the emotional abuse they have suffered has left the deepest scars.
The existence of emotional and verbal abuse, attempts to isolate, and threats and intimidation within a relationship may be an indication that physical abuse is to follow. Even if they are not accompanied by physical abuse, the effect of these incidents must not be minimized. "

2017 of course!
Last year SSN was issued separately after obtaining the EAD.
This year i filled my i-765 again last October 2017 it had the option to request a SSN in the new form which is convenient & saves time.
Thanks for clarifying! I filed last year, would have been nice if that had been an option!

What a great news!!
I filled mid-October.
Did you guys get Prima Facie? Because I didn't.
I found out the hard way that if they issue Prima Facie it will not say so in your online status. Mine was kept from me for over a year by the attorneys who helped me file my case, so if the address on your petition is going somewhere else make sure it didn't get sent there and no one told you.
There are cases where no prima facie is issued and the case is approved, just like there are cases where prima facie is issued and cases are denied. Sandra had adviced me to send a letter requesting prima facie of you need it, (in my case I had gotten it, but no one told me I had been sent it so now I'm in the process of requesting an extension.)

My attorney did the same thing but I never needed it anyways. I found out a few months after she received it. I am a December filer too. USCIS automatically renewed my Prima Facie in October.
My filing date is Nov. 8th, 2016.
The director felt awful, explained that it had been an oversight and a terrible mistake. They are sending a letter and expedited request to renew it but they said it was more likely that I would see it adjucated first. I really needed my Prima Facie, but hey, hopefully I'm almost at the finish line. 😥

You guys, I am devastated.
I called this morning the group that was helping me with my VAWA just to make sure they hadn't reveceived anything (They put their address and name down as my contact) and while talking she decided to check my file when I told her I didn't even get prima facie.
They had my Prima Facie, they got it a week after my receipt in December of last year!! It's expired now, I'm waiting for the director of the orginazation to call me. I AM FUMING, I AM SO UPSET, I HAVE SPENT AN ENTIRE YEAR STRUGGLING AND THEY HAD MY PRIMA FACIE THIS WHOLE TIME AND NEVER NOTIFIED ME even though it was their job, I paid for their services!
There has to be legal repercussions for the damage they have caused.

Also filed Nov 2016 and no updates on my case, I contacted my senator's office on Friday and sent them my privacy consent form so they can inquire on my behalf.

Happy Birthday to my VAWA case! Today it is officially a year old, it might even start walking and talking soon!
Seriously though, gotta find the humor where I can. 😂😂😂

It's better to type. If they are in the U.S the affidavita must notarized. The person must tell when, where and how he/she met you. She/he should tell about your Courtship, if he/she attended the weeding,if not, why not.If she visited in your home, what did she notive about the couple interaction etc..If the person knows about the abuse, how did she find out?.
If they weren't notarized will you get an RFE for it? Is it worth sending notarized copies before they send an RFE? The volunteer attorneys who helped me did not tell me they needed to be notarized at any point in the process. They were so sloppy!

How long is it taking to receive EAD after i360 is approved if it was filed together?

Yes, the website may use 11 months as "outside the normal time frame". However, VAWA case inquiry won't be processed using the USCIS case status page. You will soon receive a letter from VSC saying your inquiry could not be processed...
Well darn.
How frustrating. 😂
-
So today I was allowed to submit a case inquiry on the USCIS case status page based on "case outside processing timeframe", before (a few weeks ago) it wouldn't let me saying it was within the time frame.
Does this means that our cases (up to Nov 2016) are now considered to be outside the normal time frame? Now I'm curious. 🤔

Hi everyone
quick question. If someone didn't receive prima fascie, base on the USCIS initial review, does it mean you could have a weak case of VAWA case?
Anyone here in a situation who didn't receive any prima fascie?
thank you!
Me.
I'm a November 2016 filer, no response besides fees waived December of last year and No Prima Facie. Sandra advised me to send a letter requesting prima facie, we'll see how that goes.
November 8th will officially be 12 months waiting.
(edit: and to add, my VAWA case included several police reports, affidavits from in laws, a protective order, photos and so on. I don't think it has anything to do with having a strong or weak case.)

You asked me this question before and I answered you (page 28). You have to submit to VSC, same place that you mailed your VAWA.
I hadn't seen that! Thank you Sandranj!

Does anyone know where I can find a sample letter for requesting Prima Facie? And what address I should mail it to? (I have no idea what to write or what information to include and I had little luck looking online.)

Have any November, 2016 filers got approved?
Not thst I've seen I'm also a Nov 2016 filer and I am beyond anxious.
Sandranj how do you go about requesting Prima Facie??? I had no idea I could request it and use it to get Fasfa. I've been waiting for my vawa to be approved to go back to school and work. Also, my babies receive snap benefits and housing assistance but I don't count in household, I could have really used (and still could use) prima facie.

That means they are currently working on October applications
We can only hope right?
Why are they so backed up, from what I've been gathering the previous years it used to be faster? -

So it's officially been 14 months, still no response. No responses to my governor's office requests and no response to the expedited request to renew my Prima Facie after that stupid mistake was found out. At this point even a single RFE would be a relief to get. Lol.
