  1. slow down brother, you are sending wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much! $50 to $100 a month is enough, $100 is in the high side. My husbands family is happy if we send $20 - $40 US !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. In my opinion, I would not focus on the "insurance " thing, if you two are not driving, it doesnt really matter. I am in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and I work for a bank. No matter what people say the driver license is an id and technically after 9/11/01 and since the patriot act was established you pretty much "need" to be walking around with a "valid " driver license /valid state id as far as I know, see what nycbra was saying , why the interviewer was pissed off . I know you don't have an "official address" but for the time being you have do "establish" one and quick, you can always change it later. Get the NYS Non driver photo id at dmv. Try to get also as much additional info from the start of your marriage, what congruent info do you have since u filed your aos??? I am hoping the property manager of your sublet is going to cooperate.....too. I know you guys don't have a lot of money but plan ahead in case you need to seek an immigration lawyer. Are you able to set up an info pass appointment> Do you think that would helP???

  3. Hey Bro, first off I really feel for you, you must be so upset and FRUSTRATED!!!!! Do you have joint credit card accounts, or accounts which have the same acct # and both of your names on it(authorized user, perhaps?) which you can inlcude? I will also recommend more pictures if you have them, since the time you got married ....when you were working do you/did you have health insurance cards? Do either of you have a 401k in which either of you is listed as a beneficiary??? You might be able to get a statement from you or your wifes hr department so you can provide that...also like other people said try to get an affidavit of who you are subletting from and how long you have been living there together, good luck . And keep in mind this is just a stumbling block , u guys will get thru it, because you have a legit marriage!!!!!!!!!

  4. Well, just wanted to share with everyone we are almost ready to mail in our i-751 packet. I just wanted to see if anyone had the same feelings, anxious , drained , stressed between this and our jobs, etc etc....even though we kept records for 2 years I feel that it is just exhausting and overwhelming...its almost like I forgot eveything I did for the k-1 and aos.... My husband and I went to staples this morning to make some final copies. So hopefully by tomorrow we will overnight mail it to vermont service center.:blink::crying:

  5. thsnks for your inputs , Yeah I got the tax returns and transcripts married filing jointly...I also will inlcude a lot of pictures too, we actually rent a one bedroom cottage on a month to month basis so we dont have any type of agreement or lease ....my landlords are weird so I feel weird asking them....but anyway I hope I will have enough evidence! thanks to all of you! I am always welcom any feedback! thanks!I feel more confident now...will keep u posted!

  6. Well hopefully by Monday or tuesday we will send out our i-751 packet

heres what we have so far for evidence:

signed notarized affidavit from my dad

bank statements with hubby listed and i am listed as joint owner /beneficiary from2007 until present

telephone bill from 2007 until present with our names on the bill(we cut off this phone last month we switched to cellphones)

electric bill with our names on it from 2007 until present

copies of joint /authorized user credit cards same account # (I think we have 2 or three accounts like this)

health care coverage cards 2007-2008 and 2008 thru 2009 same number, etc

we dont own a home and dont have a rental agreement or lease and car insurance is in my name only .

I only have one affidavit so far because my next door neighbor bailed out; she moved to florida 2 days ago . she was supposed to do it and be my second affidavit , so now we are working on one from my hubbys friend..

Please let me know your thoughts....thanks!

  7. my husband came from Metro Manila a big city.... he has been here 2 years 4 months and I would say he is getting over the cultural differences a little bit finally, still getting used to peoples personality here and he still only likes asian food .

as far as adjusting it is not an overnight thing , its a long process it goes little by little

  8. I appreciate eveyones input, thanks! I will be sending affidavits because (due to my own fault to a point) I feel some of our evidence is lacking due to some personal circumstances, but that doesnt mean our marriage is not valid ! aside from the fact our address is a private road , it has 2 different names ( i am going to get affidavit from my next door neighbor and my dad) we also get our mail at a po box also . aside from some other stuff . LOL. THats why I am asking...if anyone else has some templates for affidavit please advise

thanks always and good luck !

  9. Ok I know this sounds really stupid, I don't really know how to type legal documents ; ie my affidavits for the removal of conditions. And, of course I want it to look professional. I don't know any legal secretaries or secretaries that I can ask to do it for me. Where can I go to get an affidavit typed for me? Would a law office do it for me for a fee? I need suggestions, did anyone do it themselves? THanks, Jelloshotgirl HELP!!!!:bonk:

  10. Hey "Guys" just need some advice... Would anyone like to share with me an affidavit they used when submitting the I-751? What I mean is a format.......???? I don't know why my confidence is low on this one. I plan on having my next door neighbor sign an affidavit stating we have lived together at our address for the last 2 years, which is great. I also plan on having my brother do the same, I will have them sign in front of a notary . So if anyone can give me a sample format of an affidavit that would be great...can my brother actually make an affidavit because he is my brother? Or does it have to be a non -family member, I hope he can do it because at this point we don't have a ton of evidence....thanks, Jelloshotgirl Good luck to everyone!

  11. THere is a packet that u got when u went to the CFO course that has some tel#s if you need some help. I feel like I want to cry when I hear your story. I cannot see you staying in an unhappy marriage. You do not deserve that. You should be happy, not a prisoner in someone else's home. You will need to figure what u want to do, stay w ur husb, divorce ur husband and stay in US or go back to Philippines. Dont feel embarrased about divorce or leaving united states if you want to. In the long run u will be happy and free!

  12. I would like to know if any expats or americans have experience shipping used car (over 10 years old) to RP. I heard all the rumors, that is expensive , u have to know someone at the port etc etc ...

but, I would just like the facts //or where I can get the info,

    Thanks!

  13. Hi Huckleberry, I just wanted to let you know something doesnt sound right with your situation, of course I should not judge every marriage has problems you know. It sounds like your husband doesnt want to help you adjust status, what is his underlying motive? It just hurts me to read what is happening. I get really frustrated when I read about wives not knowing if they have health insurance in the US etc etc, these are important things couples need to discuss , do you know money is the biggest reason for divorce in the United States, sounds like this guy treating you badly, dont be shy to ask questions and speak up. I would say you should talk to his family about it. Good luck!

  14. Hello all! As you can see on my timeline my hubbys 2 year GC is dated 10/31/2007. When should we file for the 10 year gc? Would it be July 31 2009?

I want to file as soon as possible to complete this process... thanks!

Just a blurb after 2 years hubby seems to have adjusted (somewhat) to American "culture" LOL, and he is slowly but surely building a small business in auto repair.

    THanks again,

    Jelloshotgirl
