The CRBA process will not affect the NVC stage of the process, but it may affect the interview part. I've heard of some cases where USEM put CR1 visas on AP pending the issuance of the CRBA of the child. In our case, our daughter's CRBA was already approved and we were just waiting for her passport and certificate to be delivered so the CO approved my visa.

Hi thanks for the response. What is AP? Glad to hear this as I am stressing that everything comes to a halt for the meantime we are waiting for the Birth Certificate. Specially on a bad timing that holiday season is coming. Hopefully our interview time comes at the time where my wife is all rested up and she could easily take the trips to Manila for the interview etc...

  2. Hello,

So a few days ago we just got approved for my wife's I-130/CR1 in USCIS. I am expecting it to be received by NVC stage around next month (OCT). This is around the same time my wife will give birth (mid OCT). I understand that the next step for the new baby born would be to file for CRBA and get a US passport.. (I don't think I would have a problem with requirements in getting the CRBA). Now what I am wondering about is this:

To file for CRBA I am going to need the baby's birth certificate which from what I've been reading so far in the forums could take time.

Would there be a part in the NVC stage where I could/need to inform them that our baby is born and that we are working getting her CRBA and Passport?

Will my wife's I-130 come to a pause at one point during NVC stage while waiting for the birth certificate?....while waiting for CRBA and Passport?

Or can NVC stage for our I-130/CR1 proceed without having to wait for baby's documents.

Hoping to get an insight specially from anyone who's been in the same situation.
