Probably when CSC started receiving those errorified cards, they may have realized about the errors and announced it so I am just guessing maybe CSC will relocate your card to the main production line to the VT.  If this sentence is true then 15 days is expedited enough ha!

i got my CDL permit today, so i'm gonna send my green card tomorrow. not sure if it's only me but i got update on my account. My card is in production. unless that what uscis email said. i got this update even before i got letter from uscis. anyway, now i'm gonna have a beer and just relax, hoping uscius won't screw it up again :)

After thinking that I had to file an i-90 and wait more than a year, I'm sceptical about these alternative instructions lol 🤔 Returning the card with a letter to be expedited seems a little too easy, given previous USCIS experience... I hope I'm pleasantly surprised! 🤗 Good luck with yours, and keep us posted 👍

and i picked , Gate number three :)  lol i did nothing about my green card.  getting my CDL first and then gonna think what to do about wrong date on my GC. Maybe i'll apply for citizenship and just keep this one as a souvenir :)

Hello there, do you know that your I-551 stamp works exactly like your GC.  It is the replacement for your pending GC.  With that, if any employer tells you, you can't apply a job then it's illegal.  Know your rights.  At least that is what I read :)  Dig around bruv, why wait and lose a job when you don't have to.  Cheers!!

unfortunately to get a CDL driving license you need to have actual green card, not a I-551 stamp. to renew CDL, stamp is ok but not to get it for a first time :)

and i need it for my job. So i'm gonna get my commercial driving licence and then apply for citizenship and we will see :)

I'm going to see what the result of my SR is... If it's to file an I-90 (which I think it will be) then I will make an info pass appt at my local office to discuss it with someone in person. I am hoping that they say that it's okay to use this GC while waiting on the new one, but I don't want to just go ahead and knowingly use it with an error and it caused problems for applying for Citizenship.

    This is so frustrating.

i have no idea what i'm gonna do. i'm gonna get my CDL driving licence and then gonna try to figure out what what to do next. i would like to talk to someone from local office but i'm afraid i'm gonna kick someones butt :)  so for now i'm just waiting :)

  5. FML :)  i've been waiting for last 8 months to get a CDL driving licence  ( i need it for work) and i couldn't get it because i need green card in my hand ( not letter, or stamp in my passport) and now i see i also got 2018 as a date i became permanent resident. If i'm gonna have to file I-90 and wait for another year to have my GC replaced i'm F....d :)  so for now i'm just waiting how this is gonna end up. Worst scenario i can loose my job, so probably i'm just gonna leave my GC and wait 5 years to apply for citizenship. i could kick someones A.s.s

  7. ok so i just got back from Chicago USCIS office. i got my stamp for next 6 months. i left office at 11;30 am. on my way back i got email. my case got approved on 3/19/2018 !!!!!finally after 537 days !!!!. i did make case request last friday. And when i was at the USCIS i did ask where is my case. they said my case is in California and never been transfered  to Chicago. well, who cares now !!! i got approved !!!

  8. Well, i just talked to tier 2 officer. looks like someone been working on my case on Wednesday, but she couldn't tell me anything else. no info about RFE or approval. i just got a feeling it's gonna be an RFE. It's ok, at least i know someone been looking at it. i should get letter within 3 weeks with the answer. anyway, just so you know, I found out my case wasn't transferred to Chicago, it's still in California ( even if on Myaccount.gov it says it's in Chicago)

happy st.Patricks day to everyone. my NOA is 9/28 and i'm still waiting lol.

I just received an email and several text messages advising me that my "Name was updated". I have made no name change request - But I understand that several people before me received this, and had not either, so I'm assuming it's part of the process, and it means that someone is looking at my case.

For reference, I don't know if it's related or would have happened anyway: I placed a call to USCIS yesterday, and was told I would receive a call back within 3-5 days. I also submitted an SR online last night. Both are acknowledged on my DHS account, but interestingly enough, the name update only shows on the old USCIS website.

Hoping for an approval update any time now. Can anyone that is approved, that received the "name" update tell me what happened next? Thanks :)

move few pages back and read. i know i did read about it few days ago.

my NOA is also 9/28. i'm in Chicago. just called USCIS and they should call me back within 3 to 5 days lol so i can make a case inquiry. good thing is , i have an appointment to get my passport stamped on monday so i'll go there and ask them one question : ####### ?????

    I'm really tired of waiting.

I'm not sure I believe the September date, only because they would be using the same data that is on their website ("official" data).  Not holding my breath for sooner, but hoping for 15 months instead of 18.  I'm not sure why they haven't yet done some file transfers to Vermont

Just FYI. I am s September 2016 filer. it looks like as of today they are processing cases from mid September. Just go to a September tread and check who just got accepted. ( talking about CSC filers )   I'm on a day 507 now and still counting :)

Actually they were working on those dates as of December 31st, nearly two months ago.   I can only imagine how upset people are, its not good, not when you have to keep taking time out to get an extension stamp, just so you can visit your family or extend your driving licence. I hear what you are saying, but not everyone is as accepting or as patient.  I hope you get your approval soon!

looks like you are the only one who believes they been working on those dates as of December 31 :)  Truth is, they work on dates around September 22nd  right now :) my NOA is September 28th. i'm just really tired of this process....

    Patiently waiting for my turn!

Also, could someone please update my info. My noa1 date should be 09/28/2016.

i think I must have mentioned the day I received the letter in the mailbox! Sorry!

Also, does anyone else get those annoying amazon/walmart gift card messages on this website often? They piss me off!

well looks like we both got this same NOA lol and believe me i keep getting those gift card messages every time i check this website on my phone. they piss me off sooooo much lol anyway i don't know but i have a feeling i'm gonna get RFE. no idea why. hopefully i'm wrong. good luck !

So when you say the sent you an RFE in early december you mean December 2016 or 2017?

ok i know it's gonna be deleted but REALLY ?  are you serious ? it keeps surprising me how lazy people are. all you need to do it's read, whatever people said and try to understand it. move back few pages, you have all the answers over there. except this last one. this question is just stupid...

In order to get stamp, the extension letter has to be about to expire, NOT THE GREEN CARD.

When the green card expires, the extension letter plus expired green card are used as proof of Permanent Residence.

If the green card is expired AND the extension letter is about to expire, then you can get a I-551 Stamp on passport. From that point on, only passport with stamp are needed as proof of Permanent Residence.

The above is true for both I-90 (Green card renewal) and I-765 (ROC).

In his case they are both expired. green card and the letter. and in order go get extension letter your card need to be about to expire anyway :)

i just said what he needs to take for is infopass. happy new year :)

Evening.   Wife and step son need to leave to Mexico in a few weeks while I transfer to Texas.  What is the stamp that I need to extend the letter  that has expired

If an I-90 renewal application is pending and the applicant's green card has expired (or is about to expire), the USCIS can provide a stamp in the passport, which serves as temporary evidence of the individual's status as a permanent resident. This stampis known as the I-551 temporary evidence stamp. ( i just googled it :) )

all you need it's infopass, bring valid passport, expired green card ( they may take it from you, so just in case make a copy of it ) and letter from USCIS. stapm is valid for 6 months or one year. I'm in Chicago, and they game me stamp fro 6 months, but some people got it for one year.

You can travel with it without any problem.

I-751 NOA: August 31, 2016. No RFE. Been pending since then. California center

I applied N-400 in August 2017 Phoenix Lockbox (lives in Portland Oregon). My case(n-400) is in line for interview now.

An officer just told me when I called that my I751 file is still in California Center and is within processing time (Aug 20, 2016).

My question is, this processing time is as on October 31, 2017. It's been 2 months since then, how is it still within time? and why has USCIS not transferred my case to NBC since it is in line for interview now.

here is my answer. USCIS does whatever they feel like doing.  Don't try to understand it, it is what it is. You may have your I-751 accepted, or you may not. If it comes to processing time, well, they say it's as on  October, but it's actually as on the day they did update it. Good luck :)  Like i said , don't try to understand it :)

Can anyone tell me how I block certain members? No offense, but I follow this thread and receive notifications each time someone posts, and I don't need this highschool drama in my inbox five times a day. I just want to see people's updates and experiences, not drawn out arguments about he said, she said.

Top right corner, go to your name , then ignored users and then add name of the user you wanna ignore :)  i got only one name and its Z....

i'm tired if gossips and stories like she said , he said too :) have a great day
