  1. Hi guys! Our interview was this morning and we were approved! It was a very smooth process. Sharing our experience, because I know how much it helped me to read the stories of others. Our appointment was at 7:30 AM in Orlando and we arrived at about 6:45AM. We went inside at 7AM when they opened, went through security and then checked in. We were called in around 7:40AM. The officer was very friendly and approachable. She swore us in, took my finger prints and picture and then started with some questions.

She asked both my husband and I to confirm our full names, address, date of birth and place of birth, and also requested an updated medical exam.

She asked when we started dating, how long we have been married, where we got married, if we have any children and if we were renting or owned our home, where we were employed and how many cars we have.

She then asked the standard questions regarding any involvement in illegal activity, etc.

She skimmed through our documents evidencing our bonafide marriage (we had a lot) and after that she said that she didn’t have any questions and then handed me a letter stating my case looked complete and approvable and said that she will be completing her final checks later, but I should expect to receive my green card in the mail in a couple of weeks. She also told us that she would approve a 10 year green card, because we have been married 3 years, so yay for that!

Around 3:30PM today I got the notification that my card is in production.

I can’t wait for my card to arrive, but I’m so grateful for a smooth experience and wish everyone the best of luck.

Make sure your medical exams exams are not older than one year, all your docs are complete and that you have lots of evidence of your bonafide relationship and you will be fine!

I will keep you guys posted on when my card arrives :)

Thank you so much DKC. Interview was great and we were approved!

We got at the office at 8:20 a.m. (interview was scheduled for 8:45 a.m.), but we were called up only at around 9:45 a.m.

It was very odd the first contact with the person who interviewed us. He called our number, my husband and I walked towards him and he said "We are finishing reviewing your paperwork. Do you have any updated documents you'd like to give me now so I can take a look?" I was a bit taken by surprise because I thought we were going to go to a room with him to begin the interview, but we went along and gave him some bills with both our names on that we didn't send when we filed back in July last year, and I also gave him my work paperwork (I wasn't employed when I filed as well). My husband asked if he'd like our photo album and he said "Oh yeah, that'd be great". So he took all those docs and photos and said he'd be with us in a little bit.

We went back to waiting, and then he called us about 10 minutes later. We sworn and then we were ready to begin the interview.

He was very nice, the 'jokester' kind of person, if I say so. He asked for our passports and ID's and asked us how we met. We told him and he made some comments and all that, he then asked me all those questions from the I-485, got my fingerprints and photo and then he thanked us and said for us to wait in the waiting room and he'd be with us in about 15 minutes with the result.

Almost exactly 15 minutes later he called us again and said we were approved! We were so happy and he said we should expect the card within 30 days.

That was it. I came bearing tons of documents and copies and he barely asked for those hahaha...only asked us one thing and it was more of a conversation than an interview.

Now I just can't wait to receive the card! I've seen some people getting their status updated to 'Card Being Produced' on the day it is approved, but so far nothing for me hahaha...but hopefully the card will arrive soon and I can rest for 2 years haha

Let me know if you guys have any questions and I want to thank you all for the support!

Hi! Did you get the card in the mail yet? :D

So our EAD will expire this month and so will our drivers license. At the DMV they said they'll have to check with USCIS and it will take 2-4 weeks and they'd have to punch a hole in the license so we wouldn't have a valid license anymore. They also don't give a temporary one. I don't know what to do. Last time it took them 91 days and now we are at 111 days. I will need to drive my husband to work and pick him up because he won't be able to drive.

I’m so sorry to hear that :( . They couldn’t issue a new license even with the renewal letter? The renewal extends the current EAD for another 6 months allowing you to work, so I would think that it would work to extend your license too. :(

Everything went well! We arrived for our 9:00 am appt early. Sat in the car until 8:30  and headed in. After going through security, we went to the check in line. The guy gave us a number and told us to wait to be called to the door. By the time we got out of that line, it was about 8:50 and we sat down to wait. By 9:00, we were called by an officer to come to the door and he led us back to his office. He took my husband's picture and fingerprints and then asked some very basic questions (address, my name.) I prepared a file with 100 photos and more docs to prove our marriage, he said he didn't need any of it. He did ask for my husband's birth certificate again though, so we gave him that and he took a copy. He realized our medical expired and said we would need to get that but we were pretty much approved pending that. I called the nearest doctor to us when we got in the car and had an appointment for 1 pm today. We just finished that this afternoon and they said the medical report should be ready by Friday. The officer also wrote on the RFIE for the medical that we were allowed to hand deliver the medical to him -- instead of mailing it in, as he was aware how long we have been waiting for this to happen and didn't want it to be delayed any longer. All in all, a very easy experience. Interview was less than an hour.

    Goodluck everyone!!!! :)

Hi! How did it all turn out for you?

Wonderful news!!!! Congratulations to you!! So happy to hear that! I actually just picked up my results today from my updated medical since mine expired in July ugh. So great that you’ll be able to bring it back to him on Friday. Then you’ll be all set :)

Thank you! Oh that's amazing! Congrats to you too! And that is good to know there might be a delay on the status updates, I started to get a bit worried because I've seen people here get their status changed to 'Card  Being Produced' within hours after the interview. We got a letter of approval when he told us we were approved. Did you get that as well? Keep us posted! :D

Congratulations!!!! That is amazing! Hope you get your card sooooon!!!

Congratulationsssss! My interview was also yesterday at the Los Angeles Office. Our case was also verbally approved by the officer. But no change of status yet! The officer said they have upgraded their operating system and there might be a delay in the online status updates. The officer also gave us a formal letter called "notice of the interview results" which shows the continuation of the case. She mentioned you will receive the card and approval letter in a couple of weeks. Good luck to everyone!

Congratulations to you!!! Great news!!! Counting down the days to my interview!

Our interview notice came yesterday! September 26th is the date! I also spoke to USCIS about his EAD appointment and they said to continue going to that appointment since there could be a delay in receiving the GC after approval and you don't want to not have your EAD. Makes sense.

Hoping everyone else gets good news soon too!!

Good luck tomorrow! Let us know how everything goes! :)

did you receive the letter yet?

Hi! I didn’t :( The good thing is that’s my lawyer received a letter on my behalf, but it’s just weird that I didn’t get one. They said I can use their letter as it is an original addressed to me, and that they have done that before without any issue. My interview is on October 15th. Hopefully I get approved on the spot because I am planning to travel on october 27th! Pushing it kind of close, but I can postpone the trip if I need to just hope I don’t have to :)

Hi DKC! I got the message on August 16 and got the mail on the 25th. It was nerve wrecking, i'm not gonna lie, but yours should be coming soon!

Also, if you have Informed Delivery, I wouldn't count it to be too reliable all the time. My letter wasn't being shown as part of the mails i was supposed to get on that day and it was a delightful surprise seeing it on my mail box :) I actually got the notification on IF on the next mailing day.

Thank you mushroomspore and izavox for replying! I will probably give it until Tuesday and then maybe give them a call. If I wanted an update would I call my local field office? Im just so nervous that I would miss the interview after all of this time! The suspense of this past week and a half has been killing me. It’s almost been harder than all these months waiting haha

Happily my online case status changed 4 days ago to "we scheduled your intw". I hope you get yours soon.

p.s. I meant transferred from NBC to Los Angeles Office

Hi Raymond! Did you get the letter with your interview date yet? If so, when did you receive it. I’m waiting on my letter and getting anxious that it has not arrived as yet. It’s been just over a week and I know it takes time, but my mind of course runs on all the things that could possibly have gone wrong :(

Keep us posted. I am also awaiting our interview notice. It seems like some people get them REALLY fast (2-4 days) and some take a week or more (7-14 days). Good luck!!!!!!!!!

Hi! Did you get the email that your interview was scheduled? I got that email on August 27th and am waiting on the letter. I’m soooo anxious right now waiting! :(

Congratulations!!! You are almost there! My PD is July 31, 2017, so I hope this means good news for me soon! But who knows these days lol. Anyway best of luck to you and keep us posted! :)

  14. Hey guys! July 2017 Orlando filer here. Just wanted to join this group to keep in the loop with what’s going on with our local office. I’ve started to get super anxious because I’m waiting on my interview notice. I’m anxious about my EAD/AP expiring before I get the renewal. I am trying to figure out when isn’t the best time to apply. I don’t  want to apply too early and have it rejected by USCIS, but don’t want to apply too late either!

I wish they they were better at updating their processing times :(

So so much anxiety, so I feel like I need a support group lol. Best of luck to you all!

  15. Hi everyone,

I am late to this post for July 2017 AOS filers, but I just received my NOA with my PD of July 31. I'm anxious to get the Biometrics appointment. I keep checking the mailbox! I've been reading the forums for quite some time, but decided to join as my husband (USC) and I have finally submitted our petition. This whole process makes me very anxious, so I thought it would be helpful to chat with people going through the same thing. Best of luck to everyone!
