Generally, you should have a copy of your original packet which includes the I-864. It also helps to provide an updated I-864 IF there have been changes since you submitted your AOS packet (i.e change of employment). I had my interview last week and although I brought a copy of I864, most recent paystubs and employment letter, the IO didn’t asked for it and just wanted to see original Birth cert, Marriage cert, our son’s CRBA and additional comingling evidences.
Okay thanks, I’m going to take it with me to be on the safe side. Nothing has changed since I submitted it other than getting my annual raise. This seems to be the most common thing I’ve heard that they don’t ask for it.
Did you interview letter also say the same thing to bring those documents?

Hard to tell because your time line is incomplete () but if you filed AOS last year, they dont have your 2018 return Transcript on file, nor the income from it on your I864.
Its always advised to bring a new I864 with new supporting financial documents to the interview if your financial situation has changed. Having filed taxes since is a reasonable change.
Oh ok thanks, I’ll update it in the morning. We filed in April of this year so they do have my most recent (2018) tax return.

I am taking a copy with me just in case (my wife is the beneficiary). Basically, you really only need a new I-864 if something has changed since you first submitted it.
Nothing has changed except I’ve got a raise since then. The only thing I didn’t submit before was an employment letter... I’m just hesitant because th HR people are kind of a pain to deal with and when I asked for a letter for the I129F they didn’t even put in it what I told them I needed for the letter.

I understand your point but do not ignore it. By exact instructions, you must bring all the documents required by USCIS for the interview. Just bring a copy with you.
I’m just questioning the “unless already submitted” part because it says the same thing for the medical exam.
since we already submitted the i-864 do we need to bring that stuff?

Hello,
We received our interview letter today for my wife and one of the required items to bring with is "A completed I-864 with all required evidence, including the following, for each of your sponsors (unless already submitted):
Federal Income Tax returns and W-2's, or certified IRS printouts, for the most recent tax year;
Letters from each current employer, verifying current rate of pay and average weekly hours, and pay stubs for the past 2 months"
I know this isn't specific to us because I've seen another letter someone received scheduling their interview this week with the exact same list of things to bring.
My confusion here is that we already submitted the I-864, and as far as I know, it's required to be submitted with the I-485 and if you don't submit it they will deny your petition, so why would they even list that on there? I would just ignore it and assume that it's not an issue because I already submitted it but I don't remember there being any "required evidence" when I submitted it other than the most recent tax transcript
From the I-864 form instructions:
"You may include evidence supporting your claim about your expected income for the current year if you believe that submitting this evidence will help you establish ability to maintain sufficient income. You are not required to submit this evidence, however, unless specifically instructed to do so by a U.S. Government official. For example, you may include a recent letter from your employer, showing your employer’s address and telephone number, and indicating your annual salary. You may also provide pay stubs showing your income for the previous six months. If your claimed income includes alimony, child support, dividend or interest income, or income from any other source, you may also include evidence of that income."
I sent in 12 months of pay stubs and my most recent tax return with W-2 with the petition. Should I just get two months of pay stubs and a letter of employment to take with us to the interview? I'm just a little confused since we already submitted the I-864 and received no RFE for it and to the point that the interview is scheduled.
Thanks for any help.

AOS can be filed with her married name to get GC under her married name for free. In the mean time you can also have her make a new passport under the married name. I see no issues.
Thanks. So we can file AOS under her married name even though we haven’t changed her name yet on any forms of ID?

My wife’s passport expires in a week or two so we are going to report our marriage to the Philippines Embassy and renew her passport in our married name. It apparently takes 6-8 weeks for them to get the new passport.
We want to avoid having to do a name change on the green card since that’s extra $$ and I’m hesitant to file for the AOS right now under her maiden name with her current passport since the name will change.
Does anyone have any experience with something like this?
Thanks.

She needs to open to where her passport is and leave the rest sealed.
Yeah the passport was on the outside so she got that out already, I was just nervous cuz it looked like some small damage to the envelope happened when it was mailed to her.

Yes, it is okay. Mine doesn't even have a plastic wrapper outside it. Only have the envelope with a printed instruction
Okay, thanks for the response.
I just kept reading something about a seal or if the envelope was damaged that it could be a problem.

Fiancée received packet 4 on Wednesday so we booked her flight for Monday. She’s not worried about this but I get paranoid with our bureaucrats because I know how ####### they can be at times. The way it arrived from the Dublin Embassy was different than what I’ve seen in other pictures. There are two brown envelopes inside and the plastic they were in wasn’t sealed in any way. These are the pictures, she’s doesn’t want to remove them from the rubber bands because the envelopes are very full and the envelope may get damaged.

How long is administrative processing typically after you send in the passport?
My fiancée was approved pending a new police clearance (she just had to get one that had her middle name on it, the first one she got didn’t) and they just received it and the passport today.

My fiancée just scheduled the interview and paid a visa fee? For some reason I thought there was no visa fee...

Is it possible to expedite the interview at the embassy stage? If so, does anyone know how and what circumstances they will expedite for?
-
Case status switched to “Ready” at Dublin embassy. Will they email me (the petitioner) or my fiancée? How long does it usually take?
-
What’s the average time right now after getting NVC # to them sending it to the embassy?

Congratulations, I'm just a step behind you on the Ireland train Let us know how it goes scheduling your interview in Dublin. My fiancé just scheduled his medical today for July 10th... hopefully we'll be able to schedule the actual interview not too far after that date.
Will do, I hope it isn’t too far out for the interviews.

Case was received by NVC and case number generated late last night! 5/10 NOA2.
-
5/10 NOA2 still not received... anybody else not received? Didn't expect to see an NOA2 from several days after mine get there first... just more confused now.
-
May 9th NOA2 on the letter (10th on the website) still not to the NVC yet... ugh.

Well in your case and quoting from NVC website, if you haven't heard from nvc or a case number have not yet been generated for your case means the availability of K visa in your beneficiary country is not yet decided maybe you are to join this month of June when the visas are available then they will generate a case number for you and send your case to your local consulate.
Oh okay. I don’t know if the NVC has received it yet though. Or would they tell me if they have?
April 2019 AOS Filers(merged)
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports

Just has our interview yesterday at Chicago office and the officer told us that once he approves it it’s out of his hands and goes somewhere else so he can’t really give us a timeframe but that he could tell us all of our documents look good and seem to be in order.
We received the interview completed letter saying there was a continuance for further review of documents. This morning case status changed to “Interview was completed and my case must be reviewed.”
Is that normal now? And what are most people experiencing in wait time after interview? We are April 2019 filers.
