  1. Last night I arrived home from work, turned on my PC and learned I'd been notified (8 times !!) that the USCIS had approved our K-3 Visa. :D My wife and I had sent our I-130 out in mid-Sept., then mailed our I-129-F to Chicago (which then sent it to Vermont) a few weeks later. We were married in June in the Philippines. While we're very excited about the approval, according to statistics, the Embassy in Manila moves slowly. Based on others' experiences, will she have to wait about 3 months for her interview?

congrats!!!!! i wish i could say the same thing.... sighhhhhh

SAME HERE!!! I129f & I130 got approved the same day on November 28. We got married July 09 btw and filed the petition mid september too!!! :D

  2. USCIS has a new policy in which they presume that people approved for K3 will come to the U.S. and do AOS. If you actually want to get the IR/CR1 in your home country, you must fill out the I824 (I believe this is the correct form) and pay $200 to request that the approved I130 be forwarded to the NVC.

oh i see. actually that was our idea before, instead of k3 we will file IR/CR1 BUT we thought that would take longer, the processing time for that is like 9 to 18months, isnt it???

  3. Congratulations!! Wonderful news :)

Yeah that's really a good news.. but funny was uscis approved the I-130 and thought that i am already staying in the u.s, stated in the letter that i have to go to certain office to adjust my status.. me and my hubby were like... "it seem that they're not really reading the application ????" so we have to write them a letter to inform them that im not there yet... but what do u guys think??? does it affect our application status for I-130 and might cancel the approval???? :innocent:

  4. All K3 petitions are mailed to Chicago, and then they used to be immediately forwaded to Nebraska for processing. Now Nebraska is sending them out to California and Vermont for the "faster processing."

Right, duh! I totally forgot the forwarding part! I hope VSC speeds up their processing soon for both 130 and 129F. :(

Isn't the VSC far faster than CSC already?

Yeah i noticed that!!!!! can't wait for the approval... how long can we wait for the whole process? seem csc got a lot of application than vsc

  5. Beginning October 23, 2006, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) National Benefits Center (NBC) began transferring Form I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e), (petitions for K-3-spouses of U.S. citizens only), to the California Service Center (CSC) and the Vermont Service Center (VSC), depending on the location of the related Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative. This transfer is being implemented in preparation for Phase 3 of the USCIS initiative to use centralized filing and bi-specialized adjudication. Through this Bi-Specialization effort, USCIS continues to align similar workloads between two “sister” service centers, CSC and VSC, to better manage cases and improve customer service.

USCIS will continue to forward approved Form I-129F (K-3) petitions to the National Visa Center (NVC) for consular processing. However, it will retain approved Form I-130 petitions, based upon a mutual agreement with the Department of State. USCIS will retain all approved Forms I-130 for retrieval upon the beneficiary’s eventual application for adjustment of status (Form I-485), unless the petitioner clearly indicates on Form I-130 that the beneficiary will use the consular process. USCIS will store approved Form I-130 petitions at its National Record Center (NRC).

OOHHH!!! thanks for this info!!! but my question is... how long am i going to wait for the approval??? errrmmm...im just worried or maybe im being too impatient...

  10. Hey everyone.

I have had a bit of a difficult time trying to understand the K3 process. The K1 flowchart seems so simple to follow, but the K3 doesn't seem quite as clear. So I thought I'd do my part and try to create a new flowchart that can help everyone out.

Can you all please help me create this? Attached is my first draft. If anything is wrong, please help me out.

    Also, two immediate questions are:

    1. What happens with the I-130?

    2. What happens after it's sent to the consulate?

Please share your corrections and answers in this thread, and I'll try to update the flowchart every night until it is complete.

Thanks, and I hope this helps others too!

and im just wonderin' how come some the process time of k3 is fast some weren't ?????? is that true if u hire a lawyer the whole process will goin to be fast???? :help:
