Hello everyone I am leaving to Mexico would it be okay to bring my daughter over to ciudad Juarez my wife is having the interview and I would hate to leave my daughter for 2 weeks. of course I would be aware of my surroundings and not let her outta my sight  if anyone has any advice that would be grateful

I don't see why not. There are plenty of kids that go to CDJ when they're also getting a visa.

Congratulations. Im sure it wont take more than 90 days for your interview. Im sure youll get an interview date in about 2 wks.

U.S consulate in MEXICO is the one that takes the LONGEST out of all the countries. And its taking about 6 wks just for interview date and 90 to 107 days for interview.

Im waiting for interview in Mexico and its been 6 wks after my case was completed and nothing still.

My P.D was NOVEMBER OF 2016.

    This process is H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E

Mine took less than that! Mexico consulate is moving quick compare to previous months last year!

    I had CC 12/5/17

    Interview Scheduled 1/18/18

    Interview Date 3/2/18

Did you get a case complete? I thought you had to send either tax return with W-2 or tax transcripts. And if the joint sponsor is married & files jointly, then don't they usually request the spouse to fill out form I-864a? I'll be sending docs in January most likely & my dad is also the joint sponsor.

    Hi everyone

My co sponser is unable to show his tax returns since he file's them jointly with his wife .

He has the following for me to submit:

    1. weekly pay stubs ,

    2.employment vierification letter ,

    3.Social security income letter

    4. w-2's

    5. Passport copy

Wil these be enough???? Or what else do it need . Please help!!!

Sorry CORRECTION!!! , I did send in the tax returns and my dad also filed jointly with my mother but she wasn't a sponsor so we only send in his information. His tax returns for last 3 years, pay stubs, employ letter, w2 & passport copy. We did get a case complete in less than 6 weeks!!!

That being said, there should be no problem with your joint sponsor sending in his tax returns regardless if he/she is married & files jointly. It's only requesting his information

More than enough, my dad was my joint sponsor, and we sent in his w-2, pay stubs, the letter, and passport.

So I just logged in to check the status of my case after calling yesterday and finding out it was in the review department.

Today it changed to AT NVC

    I just called.

    CASE CLOSED

    :dancing:

Unfortunately for Mexico it's a long wait still.

One thing I don't understand, I have a expedite at the embassy level, they told me they're sending it to the embassy and they'll set the interview, not sure if that's actually true as I've seen others on here say they've gotten to schedule their own, I asked what the difference was and they said usually the case would stay at NVC and NVC would schedule the interview.

    Is that right?

They seemed to be confused themselves and wanted to get me off the phone.

    Yayyyyyyy!  Congrats!!!!!!

I need help on choosing the correct I-864 for my situation. I have been a student living at home with both my mom and dad. I'm currently doing a paid externship but the income does not meet the income requirements for me to file alone. My parents are willing to help in any way they can, but I don't want to make them jump through all the hoops I have to for this visa... they're older and not computer savvy haha...

So my question is... should I file the I-864 and, let's say, have my mom file an I-864A to boost my income. Or just file 2 separate I-864's between me an my mom?  Also my parents joint file their taxes yearly. So the other route I think is I file I-864, my mom also files I-864, and my dad would file I-864A.... but that seems like a lot of paperwork on their end... I'm just trying to make it easy but more so want to do things correctly.

Since it's your parents... and they're household members.. your dad would do an I-864A and u do the I-864

When sending in the copies of the AOS and IV papers, I see where the Document Cover Sheet needs to be accompanied with the documents requested. How many of you all also included a personal cover letter for each the AOS and IV documents?

I don't want to "overkill" the whole package considering there is the cover sheet and then a cover letter???

    Your opinions please!

I still included a cover letter...  It can't hurt.
