Hi, see my signature. I got the email about RFE on the 16th. I finally got the RFE via snail mail on the 26th. I was really bugged and started an upset thread. It doesn't make sense but... see my other thread.

Good luck, it is normal to be late, it will come soon.

In CSC-speak, this really means:
"On Jan. 16 we were reviewing at your file and realized we needed more information from you. We are going to print an RFE letter for you. Then it will go to another place to be put in an envelope. Then it will move to the location of the postage meter to wait for someone to apply postage. Then it will go in a box to be sent to the outgoing mailroom. Then it will go to a mailbox. Then a mailman will pick it up and it will be sent to you via the US postal system"
When they sent the RFEs for IMBRA, they gave one date i.e. Jan. 16, and the letters were not postmarked until about 2 weeks later. It's normal, try to relax.
Thanks I feel better knowing that it is standard procedure for it to take a while to arrive.and that I'm not the only one that gets antsy about his stuff>

On the USCIS site there is a notice that they mailed me a RFE on 1/24/2007. I have not received it yet and was wondering if this is normal. I live in Las Vegas and submitted my petition to the California Service Center. I thought I would have receuved the RFE in the mail by now. Should I be concerned or is it normal for it to take some days to arrive? Am I worryina a bit to much about this?

I'm sorry to hear that simario, yeah i check my case there about 10 times a day. I hope i dont get a rfe, i paid alot of money for someone else to prepare the paperwork,
Thanks Stach, but if what kitkat stated earlier is correct then getting an RFE won't be so bad and it will just cause a slight delay. I'm going to remain optimistic about it and I suggest you do the same concerning yours. I'm sure everything will work out OK. Best of luck.

Just send them what they need once you receive the RFE - your case will be approved shortly after they receive it and process it. . . that's how it usually goes.
Thanks kitkat!, I sure hope it goes as smoothly as you make it sound.

I just checked on the USCIS page for my case status and it has changed. They mailed me a request for additional evidence and or information sometime today. I can't imagine what it might be. I was very thorough with the paperwok i sent them and neither my fiance nor I have anything shady in our past. Whatever it is they are requesting I hope it does not delay the process another 3 months. Anyone have a similar experience they can share which will give me a clue as to how this is going to proceed. Stach32 you might want to go to the USCIS site and check on your case the link is https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp. Any info or input is appreciated. Thanks
I sent in my 129F in October and have noticed that some others who filed with the same service center for the same embassy Brasil have received their 2nd NOA slready and I am still waiting. I have not hear from the service center so In am assuming all is OK with my petition. However now that I have seen that others have received their 2nd NOA ahead of me I am a little bit concerned. Can anyone shed any light on whether I should be or not. Also con anyone give me a clue as to why mine would take any longer, neither I nor my fiance have anything shady in our pasts, andI made sure I dotted all my i's and crossed all my t's before submitting. Also wondereing whether I should call service center to inquire. I filed In Californis and it has been over 100 days since I filed. I am simply just to worried?Every case is different and each service enter works at different paces. Comparing your timeline to someone else's does no good. Viewing the averaging time lines here on VJ is just an average and is dependent on people correctly filling out the information which doesn't always happen. If you are beyond processing times for your service center posted on the USCIS site, you should contact them. Otherwise it would be a waste of your time and there is no reason to worry.
If you have received your NOA1 and you can see case status online, it's extremely unlikely they lost their case. More likely, they are backlogged and lost some time due to the holidays.
Thanx kitkat, you made me sigh with a hence of relief!!!
The link to check the status online is as follows https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

You have posted this in the K-1 forum and your profiles indicates K-3. Are the I-129F petitions approvals that you have noticed processed ahead of yours for K-1 or K-3?
MY profile should be K1 and the others that were processed ahead of me were K1 alos. Thanks for the heads up. I will go ahead and correct my profile.
